I have a mentally disabled son who has lived in Davis all his life. I beg him all the time not to wear his MAGA hat in Davis. After 45 years here I know that "Davis is NOT actually for everyone " as the rainbow signs proudly claim. However, my eternally innocent childlike son says "Don't worry Mom, everywhere I go in Davis, people always say "I love your hat !" And amazingly that has been true , I've seen it myself and was even scolded once for asking him to take it off at PEETS coffee. So, I had hope. UNTIL TODAY at Dunloe brewing. While I made copies at FedEX my son went over to taste the new brews at Dunlow. He was quickly told he would not be served there and was asked to leave. Yet somehow they sold him a 4 pack to go. The ultimate hypocrites who turn away a disabled guy with a red hat, but are willing to take his money. I hope that no place ever turns away ANY person for what they wear or how they look , purple hair or a NASA shirt or Conquer Mars or a rainbow hat. Pitiful. My son gives his room to the homeless , takes care of unwanted animals and is kind to everyone. So many people in this town know and love him And would give him 5 stars as a human being. Dunlowe gets 0 stars for poor service and poor ethics. read more

SQUEEEEE!!!! Another micro brewery! I'm going to do a preliminary review on this. However, great deal more research is needed. First, let me say that they had a couple of very nice IPAs. Of course this is my favorite. The Mello was very balanced with both Citra and mosaic hops . It's a nice easy drinking IPA with almost a floral overtone. Fantastic! Say hello sunshine is a nice sour. I love that they had a lot of cans available for most of their beers. It's nice to be able to enjoy things at home as well. The only thing that I would love to see is the ability to get a tasting flight at some point. While you can certainly ask for a taste, I like being able to sit down and try bunch of different things. We were in the area hoping my mother in law out and decided she needed to pay us in beer, naturally! We also needed to get another passport stamp. We drove by and missed it and then missed it when we came back around so my only suggestion would be to put a sign out next to the sidewalk to make it stand out. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the brewers adorable dogs, this is my favorite type of greeting =) Dogs are always welcome in my life. The brewer/owner, Brennan, was pouring in the tap room the day we were there. He was very engaging and friendly. He helped us decide which beers we wanted to drink and he even kept handing me healthy samples to try since I never can make up my mind. I appreciated this. I love the names of the beers, they made me literally LOL. I appreciate their sense of humor. I originally came here because I had previously had tried the "Pocket Taco" at a taproom in Isleton. My favorites this trip included the "Fastest Man in the Traffic Jam" and "California Hello w/ Watermelon & Grapefruit." Which by the way has the funnest came, it teaches you how to do the "California Hello." Brennan was even nice enough to bust out one of the few cans in the back he had hiding of "Pocket Taco." We will definitely be back soon, I need to try some of new beers they'll be introducing including a different "California Hello." And get a "California Hello" t-shirt. I found myself in Davis today and saw the website said they were open for pick-up of online orders from 4-7. Great. Ordered 3 4-packs and headed to pick them up a little later. My issue is not the beer. I really enjoyed the Double Stomp IPA. Smooth and enjoyable. My problem was the service. I rolled up to do the curbside pick-up. The young man who came to our window barked "your name?". He left. He returned and nearly three the beer into my wife's lap thru the window. Never said another word. Didn't even respond when we thanked him and told him to have a nice day. I go out of my way to try and support small local businesses right now. I even added what I thought was a good too for someone to hand me canned beer through the window (20%). To have someone be downright rude was discouraging. I'm not sure I will even return. I've been to 3 Mile in Davis several times and the staff there is always friendly and welcoming. There was nothing about Dunloe that would make me skip the many other breweries around who appreciate those of us supporting local businesses in these tough times. Best beer in the Davis area. I like the outdoor space better at other places but strictly from a beer standpoint, Dunloe takes the cake. Everything is really well-balanced, I even enjoy their IPAs which I don't usually drink because most of them are aggressively hopped. So excited they're expanding into a downtown location that I have yet to visit yet but will definitely make it there soon enough. read more

I really enjoyed the beer here and chatting with brewer Brandon. I'm looking forward to a return trip the next time I'm in Davis. I learned some things about the beer industry while there. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by the two border collies, I love border collies. There are 8 beers on tap and we tried a beer sampler for $15, you simply choose which two you do not want. Our group was seated at a table outside so I had difficulty carrying the full sampler board out there. Calls through the glass door out to my husband were not heard so luckily a young man sitting inside saw my plight and opened the door for me. Perhaps that door can be changed to a swinging door that can be locked when the bar is closed but doesn't latch during open hours. Now as to the beers, my husband and I only liked two of our six, turns out we don't like sours so this style isn't for us but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the dogs. Their parking area has one stall for handicap parking and about four other spaces but we and our friends had no problem parking on the street. read more

This place gets poppin on weekdays! Super chill and laidback brewery down the street from in n out. Your alternative burgers and brews if that's too mainstream for you :) The first thing I'd like to mention is that they are DOG FRIENDLY!! In fact, you'll most likely run into a few doggos here so take caution if you have allergies. On the other hand, they are also human friendly :) In fact, you'll find that this place gets crowded even on weekdays! Mostly a hangout for working peeps but you'll also find young people here too. The draft list is a little limited, but compared to the 2-3 other breweries in town, I'd say Dunloe is doing quite well! Nothing in particular impressed me, beers were ok - I'd say that this is more of a place to hangout than to try exquisite beers. They also have growlers for a very reasonable price! read more

I love that a lot of breweries are popping up in Davis. Its awesome that there are so many choices now! Dunloe is one of the newer ones in the community and I'm surprised its taken me this long to visit. I came as some friends were hosting a fundraiser here. I forgot the name of the beer I had, but it was great and super light. The brewery is pretty small with a few tables and a bar to sit at. When we walked in, we asked for advice on which beer to order, and the guy behind the counter was not very welcoming, which was a little bit of a bummer. The parking is a little difficult, but there is plenty of street parking around. Definitely would come back for the vibe! read more

Cool new (2017) brewery and tasting room in Davis off of Olive Drive in a stand alone brick building. A bit off the beaten path, next to a used car dealership, but definitely don't let that deter you - it's worth the trip. The owner/brewer (UCD Master Brewers program graduate) is into a rotating tap list and seems to be focusing on funky and new styles of craft beer - saisons brewed with kumquats/oak, sours from Honey Murcott tangerines, etc. He also brews up a sweet IPA "Sunshine Highway", a pilsner, a tasty Belgian table beer (3.9%), coffee stout and my personal favorite "Dude and the Hippy" a Double IPA with refreshingly beautiful complexity - hazy, piney, citrus funk forward. The space is small, but good for socializing and milling around. They are a family-friendly brewery but don't have much in the way of activities so I like to pack a little bag of coloring books and crayons for the kiddos to keep them occupied. The owner's cute little doggies are always in attendance, so if you're allergic take your zyrtec before you come (ha, ha), but they're super fun to watch and throw the ball for while admiring the barrel decor (which I think are actually in use). You can bring your own food, or order from the food truck that frequents Dunloe on the weekends! If you're not sure what your favorite beer might be, ask for a sample or order the flight (6 beer tastings for $15). Did I mention they are one of the cooler breweries that don't discriminate against bringing your own empty growler (that might happen to be from another brewery) and fill it without hesitation!? I like that, because HEY I'm filling it with YOUR beer! Right? The benches are spread out good distance and they assign your seating I felt safe & it was really clean and organized. They come to your table to see if you want more beer and they bring it out to you. QR code beer menu. And they bring out the ipad to close out your tab. The 3rd brewery in Davis!! How exciting!! The other breweries are Sudwerk and Three Miles. C heard about this place from his coworkers that are also beer enthusiast. So naturally, we had to pay a visit! Exit Olive Dr. and it'll be in a little hidden location on the streets. Next to it, is an auto shop. Close enough to in-n-out, if you want some munchies, as they do not have any pub food. It was pretty packed when we went on a Sunday night and it got pretty stuffy in there. This is a fantastic brewery in Davis! The staff were friendly and helpful. We tried many of the different beers and ended up getting a flight of beers. They have way more variety than Super Owl Brewery on the other side of town. I like the decor in the place. It's simple with lost of barrels and wood everywhere. Someone had a couple dogs in there running around which was a little annoying because people kept almost stepping on them but I guess it makes it seem more casual in there. After long planning and anticipation, we finally have two new breweries in Davis. One of them is Dunloe and in my opinion is better than the other brewery that recently opened. But that's to be expected knowing where the brewer/owner comes from. All the beers that they have on right now are very skillfully made, and even more impressive for the new kid in town, they already have barrel aged/sour beers ready. This is usually not the case with new places- as they tend to go to easy route before attempting something like this- but Brennan knows what he wants to do. The space is on a smaller side but very cozy and we had no problem finding a spot to stand/sit every time after the opening date. It's great to see that Davis is finally catching on the craft beer fever and though Sudwerk is what connects the history of beermaking in Davis, places like Dunloe will sure have success as the offerings are plenty and delicious. read more

For a brand new brewery, this first lineup of beers was quite impressive. The best beer Dunloe had to offer was the Devil's Dance Floor, a Belgian Quad sitting at 8.9% ABV. I would definitely recommend that everyone try this! Overall, I really enjoyed this brewery. The servers were really nice. The flights are actually a pretty good deal, but there aren't a ton of various options on the board. Mostly IPA's, which aren't really my thing. They do have two dogs who are super cute and like to play. The seating is just benches and it's fine. I believe there's an outdoor area. Went during a super hot summer day and the beers were very refreshing. There is a large variety of beers and the prices are decent for the volume. Great little brewery in a reconditioned building - high ceilings and lots of wood and aging beer barrels. Great Belgian ales and a barrel aged sour. Nothing too hoppy (IPA is 47 IBU). Refreshing change from overly hopped breweries. Beer is very good now will only improve with age. Plenty of bike parking and cool pot belly stove for the winter months. read more

Stumbled onto the Dunloe brand a couple years back when "Pocket Taco" was on draft at Drake's: The Barn. Pocket Taco is close to a chelada and I'll always pick up some 4 packs when it's available. Also a fan of the Dunnies Light, Sunshine Highway, and a couple limited sour releases. Tasting room has a nice outdoor area now, including some misters if it's hot. My boyfriend loves this place and was very eager to show me the ropes. I was down to go anywhere were there were dogs getting to hang out (the owners have two dogs who entertain guests) I was stoked to try the beer so we did a sampler which allowed us to try nearly every beer. I should have saved the names but did not. Whoops! Next visit I'll update with names. I enjoyed the IPAs (hippy something was my favorite) it was piney and holly, everything I ask for in my IPAs. The other beers were good, but I always lean towards a good IPA over anything else. The prices here are great, atmosphere was fun and all in all is a great addition to the Davis scene. My only wish is they had some snacks such as pretzels or nuts for the patrons. Next time I'll bring my own. Can't wait to return! read more

According to my Untappd profile, I've been to over 200 breweries in something like 14 states, craft brew is a bit of a hobby of mine. I lived in Portland for 3 years as well, so I've been around a bit. When I moved to Davis last April, I was stoked that we had (at that time) 2 really good breweries in Sudwerk and 3 mile. I'm even more stoked now to say that we have 3 awesome venues with the addition of Dunloe. Ok- the quick and dirty: dog friendly, cool space, lots of nearby parking, it was busy but service was great. I had a taster and all were pretty good, the best two to me were the citrus IPA and the peach sour. Once their hours increase with time, it'll be a slam dunk. read more

zzzzzooooooommggg I never left a review?! My girlfriend and I love this place. Moved away from Davis *sad* and come by every time we're in town. The beers are diverse (every IPA doesn't taste the same) and he's got a great spread for people who like anything from hoppy af to stouts to sours to easy drinking sunshine working in the yard beer.
