Food: Two stars - both the smoothie and grain bowl I tried were bland and expensive, but the vegan gingerbread cookies were amazing and I found them fairly priced. Would recommend baked goods/quick treats here for the most part rather than going for a whole meal. Atmosphere: Four stars, especially since it seems to never be crowded. Good place to get work done or study. Might be awkward to meet up with a friend or for a date since it's very quiet most of the time. So, overall: rounding up to four stars. I'll take myself here once a month for a White Queen + a biscuit or cookie as a special treat, but I probably won't try any more of the food or smoothies. read more

I had the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar smoothie packed with super greens, mint, mango, avocado, and coconut milk. I have to say I've never had avocado in a smoothie before and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted!! This smoothie was $7.50 and was filling enough as breakfast or a light lunch. This is defiantly a new favorite spot of mine in Davis. For those out there looking for a nutrient packed smoothie or do not get enough veggies in your diet, this place is the remedy! For my second visit, I had the Ploughman's Lunch $11. I selected the whole wheat biscuits, tuna salad, smoked jack cheese, and white bean hummus which came with a side of spinach salad. First off, for me this was a very filling lunch and I took half the plate home with me. I don't know if this is because I selected both the hummus and tuna salad but it was super filling. I don't know if they have changed anything but the biscuits were super soft and tasted homemade, as did the hummus and tuna salad. I think if I were to make a suggestion about the salad is that they mix the greens with the dressing better. Other than that, I am a huge fan! I've had three ladies twice, my first experience was yummy and fresh, I started recommending them to all of my vegan/vegetarian friends. I myself am not a vegan or vegetarian but I enjoy fresh, light foods such as the ones served here. I ordered again today despite a friend telling me their food wasn't as fresh as they claim. I ignored said friend since my first experience was so good. I received my avocado toast and the avocado wasn't just browning, it had fully turned black. It was so dark that it had started turning my bread black as well. I understand how produce works, and that sometimes it's hard to find a quality product. However, as someone who works with food, if it isn't good enough to serve, don't serve it. I'm so off put by the integrity of the food I was served today that I doubt I will risk eating here again and will no longer recommend it to my friends which sucks because there were so many items I still wanted to try! read more

We absolutely love this place. Located on a pretty quiet street downtown, the cafe has cute outside seating in the front and plenty of inside seating options too. Every menu option I've had there has been made with perfectly fresh ingredients and seems really healthy. Their veggies and fruit just have more flavor and freshness than almost all restaurants I've been to. They carefully make each dish. Their smoothies are delicious & healthy, not overly sweet. If you're in a big rush, this may not be the best place for you as they take their time to make everything fresh & perfect looking. I've had great brunches there .and lunches too. First when we walked in they didn't say anything and we just stood at the counter for a minute before anyone serviced us. We ordered an iced latte and a cold brew. They told us to wait outside and they'd bring out our drinks. We waited outside for 25 minutes so we went in to check if they had left the drinks on the counter and as we walked in they saw us and started making the drinks. The lavender latte had no flavor, it was literally just coffee and milk. The coffee was warm with like 3 ice cubes. The cold brew was actually gross. Like undrinkable gross. I was offered a free pastry for the wait-time, which was nice, but it really shouldn't take that long to make a drink. 3. Orders are basically made "in-order". So if you order a smoothie but the people in front of you ordered a 5-course meal, you're pretty much screwed. Taste: Meh, could've made it at home pretty much. Was good but not satisfying. We wasted $30 on a pre-made salad that was nothing like what I ordered (when it finally arrived), a flavorless smoothie, and "the blandest grilled cheese I've ever tasted" according to my fiancé. We were the only ones in the cafe and employees made eye contact with us multiple times without checking in on us to see if we were waiting on food. i am in an abusive relationship with this cafe because i love their lavender lattes but they are $7. im going to learn to make them at home but it will take me some time to heal. another thing is that there is a small study spot that is nice but extremely warm and full of flies. i wouldn't care about the flies if they didn't land on me but they usually do. sometimes i listen to the employees gossiping here and i enjoy that. i like the tomato soup as well and i like the little sprouts they put on top it makes me feel like a small mouse. please tell me how you make your lavender lattes so i can stop coming here it is really an unpleasant experience overall and i hate finding parking. read more

Tofu scramble is hilariously bad. First place we've gone out in Davis and the food is low quality - no seasoning/spices, served cold, small portions. Finding good vegan food is usually a challenge, but this doesn't even pass as acceptable to serve to customers. The service at this place is awful. We will never go back. Prices are ridiculous especially considering the service and portion size. We were told it would take 30 min for all the food, including the açaí bowl. We were initially sympathetic and willing to wait. However, the food trickled out over 45 min such that two out of the three of us ate their food at different times. At 45 min the açaí bowl the third of us ordered hadn't even been started and it turns out that it hadn't even been entered as part of the order. Instead we had been charged for an avocado toast (that we never got either). The coffee drink was lukewarm but we worried about asking for redo when the staff were so slow and apathetic. This sunny corner cafe is a delight to go with toddlers, I went with my girlfriend and her 15 month old and it is so family friendly AND services delicious wholesome food. I ordered the quinoa bowl and my friend ordered the avocado bowl. The spinach wrap was exactly that-- a bunch of spinach wrapped in a tortilla wrap. There was exactly 2 slices of bell pepper and the butt end of an artichoke. No sauce, or chickpeas. We ordered on DoorDash pickup at 11:10, it said pickup for 11:39. When we went inside to pick it up, they hadn't started order and said they still had 16 minutes before it was supposed to be done (based on the app on their end). We watched people who ordered after we came to pick up receive their food. They was no suggestion of an apology or rush to complete the order. We had done DoorDash pick up to skip the lines, and it's clear this staff prioritizes DoorDash pickups last. I understand this, as someone who has worked in the food industry, for orders that are delivery, because they customer is not responsible for picking up the order and will not know if there is a delay on the end of the business. If this truly was a glitch on the DoorDash end, it wouldn't explain why people who arrived after us and ordered after us (between 11:10 and 11:39) got their orders, while ours wasn't even started. They also got one of the items wrong in the order, and were completely cold in correcting it. Maybe they are unaccustomed to people showing up on time for their pickup and do not know how to properly address customer concerns. I don't know, but I'm not risking ordering anything from this place again. It's a shame the service is so poor, the food is good. read more

Expensive! The smoothies do not have a lot of flavor but are very healthy in terms of being made with house made almond cream and fresh ingredients. The sammies are delicious but not filling. It is a great place to sit and study for a small bite to eat or smoothie to sip on, but not for a large meal. The customer service is friendly and the ambiance is refreshing with succulents on the wall. This is a wonderful place to being young kids as they have a play corner with toys and monthly events such as book readings. read more

Super cute and sweet shop. The place is spacious, and very kid friendly! Only complaint are the prices which are pretty high... but solid drinks. I got the Black Queen which is a Blended cold brew coffee with a splash of coconut milk and cacao. I'm a huge sweet tooth and though the drink was barely sweet at all I still really enjoyed it. Finished it in a couple minutes! I would recommend it for those of you who like creamier cacao drinks! read more

Worst freaking experience ever! I wish I could give LESS than 1 STAR! So here were all the issues, 1. We waited for a long time to get our order taken, which is alright I know you guys are two people back there but like some acknowledgment of "hey we'll be right with you" would be nice. 2. The lady taking our order was so rude and made the whole experience feel so unwelcoming like she didn't want to take our order. 3. My boyfriend and I were waiting for a while, and we thought that was normal since they got a bit busy after we ordered plus it was our first time going here so we didn't really know anyways. Then I started to see people who ordered after us get their orders. So I started walking near the front and saw our drinks melting and our food getting cold literally 25 minutes later! Then when I went to go grab our order, I was so disappointed to see how it all looked. And I said "oh we are just waiting on the açaí bowl now" she looks around and one of the other workers say it's ON THE GROUND. I was like there's no freaking way! No apologies for the wait nothing! Rarely am I compelled to review ANYTHING on Yelp. When I do it is for places that are above and beyond, but yesterday I bought a to go sandwich here (roasted tomato) and when I walked out and opened up the box, I was astounded at what a flimsy product I had for nearly $8. Really, really skimpy. I headed back in but there were other customers there and I didn't want to cause a scene. I'll just quietly not return. Bread was really good, but the rest of the sandwich was really lame. Honestly, we are not talking major steps to improve. How about just a little something other than a single piece of what appeared to be iceberg lettuce (the tough part--maybe it was some old kimchi)? Ordered decaf latte (one shot) which came out lukewarm and just ok tasting (flat in comparison to Peet's or common grounds decafs). I like this place. However, i really think it could be much better based on my 1 experience. I ordered delivery to my place and chose the quinoa salad and an acai bowl. The salad was in no way an actual salad. It seemed to me that it was a platter of a bunch of appetizers put together. There wasnt enough green fiber (in this case it was kale) to act as the base of the salad. The individual components were good but they have to work together and make sense as a SALAD. read more
