My daughter with her newly-minted driver's license had a fender bender. Too small to justify a massive hike in insurance rates, I went to 3C based upon their ads and a nearby, convenient drop off location [because my schedule is nuts]. The salesman was courteous and he priced it. Intending to get a 2nd estimate, I was non-committal. When I realized 2 weeks later that I wasn't going to get a 2nd estimate due to my schedule, I called 3C and dropped off the car. Immediately, they prepared me for a price hike, and they said it would likely be done within 2 weeks. The price inevitably was jacked up another $150. It took them 3 1/2 weeks to replace a 2013 Subaru hood. This wasn't the best or worst service experience of my life. However, it was tremendously frustrating, and once we started reading other Yelp reviews, we felt confident that we could predict 3Cs next move -- raise the price once they had the car and take far longer than expected. 3C has a massive PR problem, and they should probably address that by doing things like quoting fair and explained price ranges rather than fixed prices, and doing the same with timelines for completed work. read more

I took my car in for a fender bender thinking I would pay out of pocket. They initially quoted $1k, so I went with my insurance. A month and $7k later I got my car back. Which makes sense as all of there commercials claim to have your back when it comes to insurance. However, my car only cost me $17k new and I drove the car with the damage for 8 months. The $7k cost was mostly labor hours and storage since they basically held my car hostage. Not to mention the horrible customer service. When I initially took my car the quoter was extremely abrasive and rude. She refused to actually look up close at my car since it was raining out. I should have left then. I worked with 4 different associates regarding timing, cost, and repairs. So disappointed in the company and would never recommend to friends. read more

So my dude got into a car accident about a year ago & was getting the run around from other body shops. I told him to bring me & lets try 3C Body Shop, mainly cause of all the commercials. So my dude Nick, had to pay out of pocket and he had well over 2k worth of damages for his 2005 Acura TSX (he only had liability at the time of incident unfortunately), and for months I he was getting the ol' run around: quotes jumping around 1k here and there, lied to, negatively spoken to by shops. Ironically the worst was here at Three C Body Shop. The adjuster / salesman or whatever his title was told my dude to leave his car there so they could take it apart to give him a estimate and would give him a call in a week or so. Also while we took one of their rental cars all vinyl wrapped in their logo. Basically what he said was, let us take you car and rip it apart to tell you what astronomical price we come up with and by that time, if you decide you don't want us to do it. Well your ride is taken apart and still owe us $1000 plus the rental car we loaned you. This jerk wouldn't even walk outside to look at the car to give a estimate. Then he got up from his desk walked around behind us and crossed his arms and looked at us like we were crazy and weren't allowed to leave. I'm like hell no, I grabbed Nick and told him we're leaving. This border line illegal activity from this kind of body shop truly made my head spin, stomach sick and anger boil. I felt bad for even suggesting this place being I'm a car guy. Needles to say we went somewhere else. Save yourself from shady places such as this! read more

Why Three C sucks: 1-They give you an initial estimate that sounds reasonable to lure you in. Then they quadruple the price listed in the original estimate after they've disassembled your car. Since your car is in a million pieces, it is almost impossible to take it to another auto body shop at this point. Three C claims the increase is because they found other issues with the car that weren't discernible until they took the car apart, but everyone who goes there seems to have this experience. Plus, they are so confident they will find other stuff wrong that they won't even order the parts for your car until after they've disassembled it. 2-Insurance companies all know how shady Three C is. Expect them to take three times as long negotiating with Three C about the price in the second estimate. Meanwhile, your car is sitting in their garage while you rack up rental car fees. 3-Their rental cars are driving advertisements for them. They have the "Three C" name plastered all over them. Extremely basic cars, too. Mine didn't even have a key fob. Three C makes quite a lot of money off them since they take forever with getting estimates approved and fixing your car. 4-They have a 3% surcharge for any charges on a credit card over $1000. Just an inventive way to nickel and dime you to death. They also don't accept personal checks. So get screwed with excess charges or carry around a ridiculous amount of cash around. 5-At their whim they can charge you up to $400 in "administrative fees" (think I'm exagerating? Read Section 10 of the agreement they ask you to sign!). 6-They may not do this with everyone, but in my case, they had me pay me a deductible when I really didn't owe one. Then when I got confirmation from my insurance agent that I didn't have a deductible, they refused to give me my money back. They told me "you can submit your $1000.00 receipt to the insurance to get reimbursed." read more

I brought my 2010 Lancer Evolution to them to get my driver door fixed from a hit and run. When I dropped the car off they automatically gave me one of their courtesy vehicles to drive until my car was fixed, and they told me that it wasn't going to "cost a penny" until I picked up my vehicle and they added an extra $400+ to my bill for the courtesy vehicle. Also, when I dropped off my car I had a full tank of gas, when I picked it up I was only at a quarter tank. When I got home I was getting ready to step out of the car and noticed that the vent close to my steering wheel was broken, which was fine when I dropped it off. The people at 3-C are a bunch of crooks, professional criminals. I wouldn't be surprised if there is going to be a class action settlement against them in the future. I sure do hope so. read more

3C raised the cost of my repair so that the insurance company would total the car. They estimated that it would cost over 9k to fix a hatch and rear bumper. Since our car was damaged by an uninsured motorist, we were only given half of the value because of the type of uninsured motorist coverage we had. 3C was paid for the inspection, labor, and storage fees. They use shady business practices, the customer service was terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

My experience with Three-C was a good one. I hit a deer with my RV and didn't trust the dealership to do the repair because they admitted to "sometimes" doing body work. So I asked Three-C if they do RVs. They told me they do, and we scheduled a time after camping season. When I showed up they were expecting me and did the repair in a short time frame considering that they had to wait on the manufacturer to send the parts. I was updated regularly on the progress and they did a GREAT repair. This coach has swirling paint of black, tan, burgundy and silver and they match the paint perfectly! Thanks guys. read more

NEVER take your car to Three-C. They charge exorbitant fees if your car is totaled or you try to pull it from the shop. Other repair shops in Columbus do not charge many of these fees. I took my car there and signed their contract based on a $5,400 estimate. They found $16,000 worth of damage, which totaled my car. When it came time to remove my car, they charged me over $2,500 in fees, most of which were ridiculous (i.e. $10/photo, half an hour of labor to disconnect the car's battery, an hour of labor to run a scan that takes only a few minutes, pulling on the seatbelts to make sure they work, etc.). They must of deleted all the bad reviews and kept the 1 they probably wrote. Like the previous review - experience complete with epic delays, no contacts from repair shop, when I did speak to someone there, they were argumentative. I received the car back not in working condition (trunk wouldn't close - orange residue all over bottom of the trunk) When I had asked about the orange residue, I was told that if they had not used it it would have voided my warranty. Asked them "where do I put the groceries now?" - they removed the residue but trunk still wouldn't close. Their commercials claim to be the "bleeding hearts" of auto repairs - but they embodied exactly what you fear in auto body repairs. They kidnap YOUR car until the insurance people pay them what they want. (They kept my car over a month because of a side mirror they wanted to replace - the accident happen in the rear of my car.) Would give this place a zero if I could and definitely should have listened to all the reviews on here and everywhere else I read. Called in to get an estimate and set up an appointment with Matt- upon showing up I was walked out to my car by Matt who clearly was not an auto tech and a sales rep of some sort to be told the "estimate" on my car - felt more like a half a***** attempt to scam me out of my money while trying to deal with a stressful enough situation. After I was told the price I asked if I could have a pen as I wanted to write down the general information he told me. I was basically told no and I reexplained I wanted to just write down what he said so I could remember and was told something very close to "I figured you could remember that and didn't need a pen for basic info" and then he started walking back into his office. Why do you waste someone's time and have them come in for an "estimate" appointment online to not give them a legitimate estimate, not let them write down anything you say, and be rude and run your business off. If this is what you were interested in doing could have done that over the phone. I will be sure to be letting everyone know never to go here for any reason and reporting your business everywhere I can. Outstanding, professional work. We would never even consider using another collision repair shop other than Three-C. From start to finish, it was an excellent experience, unfortunately, once again after a close encounter with a deer on a country road. The team at Three-C absolutely have YOUR best interests, and a quality, proper repair job, at the heart of what they do. I wish that I could say the same about our soon to be former, well-known insurer, State Farm. If you don't go with one of State Farm's lackey "approved repair shops", prepare for a non-stop battle between the collision repair shop and State Farm as Three-C works to get your car, and the proper diagnostics, completed the way the manufacturer states they should be. Out of my own pocket, after denial again and again from State Farm, I had the post-diagnostic scans done on my vehicle - and it's a good thing I did! The post-repair diagnostic scans uncovered problems that State Farm would have just let us live with. Oh, and the repair work done by Three-C was absolutely incredible - beautifully done with pride. They were very nice and accommodating. The costomer service is great. I asked for all new parts to be used in the repairs, and they made sure that happened. They did say they would go toe to toe with the insurance company. I had no problem with them. Everything happened the way they said it would. My complaints about the whole experience is that it took a month to get the job done, I had to take the car back because the radio was not working when I picked it up, and the repairs did seem a bit expensive. Just because the insurance company allows thirty days for a car rental, it doesn't mean all thirty days should be used. I just think they nickle and dime you, but their service is on point. Was worst experience I've ever had when getting a car repaired. My accident happened in October 2015 (rear ended by a box truck) repairs they made are still causing issues and when I call to ask them about it since I have a lifetime warranty on all repairs they made they never call back. If I don't hear back in 24 hours after my call today I will be talking with the better business Bureau so that others don't fall into the trap I did. read more

Unscrupulous business is what best describes this company!! I was offered a rental car thru three C which is a rolling business billboard. Waited 14 days for a written estimate after trying for 8 of those days to talk to the person who was assigned to prepare the estimate. NO CALLS were returned by the employee or the General Manager Frank. Eventually a visit to the business was required to have any knowledge of the state of repair. The offending parties insurance adjuster who is representing the other guy was better in communicating then Three C's who was supposedly representing me. Beware that if you try to retrieve your car due to lack of performance from Three C's you will be hit with unreasonably and unnecessary charges that they say they performed. READ that contract they get you to sign as it will detail every charge they will hit you with if you don't want them to fix your car after the crazy estimate they will provide. EXTORTION is what most legally describes this practice. $1823.00 is what I was charged to remove my vehicle from Three C's for a simple dent on my fender which other shops quoted $840 for repairs. That was the charge for simply removing my car after almost 3 weeks of waiting for Three C to provide an estimate. Read the BBB reviews, YELP reviews ETC. read more

Drove my truck to N High location to have Greg give me estimate (11-8-19). He had me sign a bunch of paperwork, looked at my truck, put me in rental and sent me on my way. Never gave me written estimate or explained that I would be charged to have my drivable truck towed 17 miles to Briggs Rd location. The next day(11-9-19) I decided to look at reviews and BBB complaints about 3C. After reading way to many complaints/issues about them I decided to go pick up my truck. Arrived and was told I couldn't get my truck because no manager was around to figure out what charges I owed. What charges I say other than rental for 1 day. Dennis B. arrived and gave me my charges as follows: $70.00for pics, $360.43 towing (17 miles), $125.00 administration fees (could not explain to me what this was), $32.25 rental, $41.66 tax for a total of $629.34 for less than 24hrs in their possession!! No repairs even started at this point. I argued the tow charge but was told they are in it to make money! Really? What a scam. I believe that 3C makes their money off of storage lot fees, car rentals, and always charging thousands more than insurance company adjuster says. Don't believe me or the others? Take your vehicle to them and wait a few days and try to retrieve it without paying hundreds of dollars and no work started on your vehicle.3C won't give you written estimate at first so that should have been my red flag to run!! They will delay the process as long as possible to rack up fees and why not? They get away with it. Wake up Attorney General and look into this so called business. They have been scamming people for 40+ years. No wonder they are not on a lot of insurance companies preferred list. I'm out $629.34 but I consider myself luck to a point. I would be willing to bet that I would have been paying thousands out of my pocket above what insurance would have paid. Just look at the reviews. The reviews that 3C can't control. I got rear ended by some bozo on an icy day so I called 3C for an estimate, they took my car down to their shop and gave me a tiny corolla to drive. They didn't negotiate with the claimant's insurance company and held my car for weeks, even though the repair was completed. Then after I had to advance them the money for the repairs, they just billed me for the rental. No bill, notice, justification, nothing. This company has absolutely no customer service and they treat their customers like adversaries. read more

I would never take another vehicle back to Three-C. When I posted a review on Facebook, Three-C called me to make it right. I was very appreciative that they wanted to make it right. A week later, I was informed by insurance company that they charged them another $160.00 dollars to fix what they broke. Car was still dirty after they fixed what they broke and charged my insurance company more. The worst experience ever. Don't call someone to fix something you broke and charge more. For the many people out there who has had a horrible experience with this company I just want to fill everyone in. I'm an estimator at a body shop (I won't mention the name as that's not what I'm here for) and I've been doing it for years. Let's start with his commercials. Perfected body shops are not so the insurance companies can screw their customer that's the last thing they want to do. Perfected body shops means the body shop has been vetted by the said insurance company because all insurance companies guarantee and stand by the work that the PREFERRED body shop does on the vehicle. The customer ALWAYS has the choice of where they want the vehicle to go but if that body shop does poor work you're stuck with that work. Second 3C is notorious for the paper work they have the customer sign. It's as thick as a dictionary when you sign they you give them full control of that vehicle and anything that the insurance company will not pay for it falls back on the customer via their agreement you sign. Our agreement is just allowing us to work on the vehicle, drive it and write an estimate. It's a paragraph long. The owner has said many times "there's 5 million cars in Columbus Ohio, if I work on a fraction of them I'll be a rich man". He doesn't want you to speak highly of his shops he simply does not care how you feel at the end of it all. It's sad really. It also explains why he's one of the only body shops in Columbus that spends so much money on advertising IE radio commercials every 10 mins and billboards. I'd NEVER take my car or recommend anyone to take their car to 3C. He is right about one thing, insurance companies want you to use aftermarket or used parts but they have to be perfect as perfect as oem period. He will always write an estimate for OEM parts which are often times twice as much but the insurance company does not have to pay for that at all which again falls back on the customer. If you can't afford whatever the difference is he will hold your car and charge storage fees daily and eventually if you can't pay he will take the title to your vehicle. It's a complete scam and I'd report him to the BBB any chance you get. Long story short, take your vehicle to a preferred shop that your insurance company recommends. Insurance companies keep that body shop in check and will get your vehicle done in a timely manner. Non preferred shops don't have to follow their time guidelines and a week job could turn into several weeks or months and depending on your policy most insurance companies will only cover 30 days. If the shop has your car longer than that, guess whose responsible for those charges at 40$ a day?? Again the customer!! Be smart people read more

Though the outcome was a well fixed vehicle, my experience was unfortunately, less than ideal. I had wrecked the right side of my vehicle Oct. 23rd and dropped it off two days later for repairs with Three C. I was initally told there was no expected finish date and that I could rent a vehicle through them. I did just that with my insurance policy covering 30 days of rental fee, thinking my vehicle repairs would be completed within the months time. The day before Thanksgiving (4 weeks later) I was made aware that they had broken a major piece on my vehicle while tending to repairs. Thankfully, we had worked it out that they would just charge for what my insurance would cover for the rental since it was going to be over the 30 day car rental period. I did not receive my vehicle back for an additional 7 weeks. It took a total of 11 weeks to fix a repair that had nothing to do with the engine. 11 weeks. I made three car payments on a vehicle I wasn't even driving. Though the repairs themselves were amazing and I'm not doubting or criticizing the quality of their work, I am just significantly disappointed in how long it actually took to complete. I think it needs to be well known that they are a high volume inventory body shop and patrons need to have a better estimate of completion before handing their vehicle over for repairs. Also, while reviewing the estimate for costs and repairs, it stated there was a fee of $100 to reset the clock . When I received my vehicle, the clock wasn't even set to the right time. So they charged my insurance $100 for something they didn't even do. Though the work was done well, the time it took was beyond acceptable and therefore, I do not recommend Three C body shop and will not be using their services again. read more

I would strongly recommend that you do not take your vehicle to Three-C. My wife had hit a deer and I went ahead and had the car taken to Three-C because I assumed that was a decent place for the repair. After a week they finally got back with me on their estimate. They said it was around $14,000 in damage and that my car was totaled. After my insurance agreed to total the car, I found out that there were additional fees that would not be covered by my insurance. It was described to me that the fees that they were charging me, were not invoiced to my insurance so they would not pay them. These are in the fine print on the documents you sign. Most of them my insurance couldn't tell me what they were for and that they do not make any sense. One of the fees were $10.00 per picture that they took of my car. A total of 10 pictures were taken equaling $100.00. I was informed that they took the pictures with their cell phone and uploaded that way. For that price I would hope they hired a professional photographer to take them and edit them to be beautiful works of art. The total charges ended up near $700.00 that came out of the value of the car. I asked my insurance if this was a normal practice for repair shops, and I was told that no this is just a Three-C thing. I am assuming that all the extra cost must go to fund their commercials, and radio ads. I cant rate them based upon the work. But as far as ethically, they are a joke. Literally the most lame white person thing I've ever done, I created a yelp just to tell you all how bad three c is. 6000$ over estimated. 1400$ for pictures and an ODB scan. They had several damages listed that had absolutely nothing to do with the accident. Very evident that their mode of operation is to squeeze the insurance company for everything they can, and even better scheme they've come up with it seems is to way overestimate your damages, easily verifying how much your car is worth through sources like KBB or NADA, and then charging astronomical prices to the insurance company, making a quick buck for doing nothing. All while you lose your car. If your paying out of pocket, sure pay for the name I guess, I bet they do great work when they want to. If you're like me and have been hit by someone that can't use mirrors, take your car to someone that wants to help you and not their pockets. Rifes auto body and collision one have been recommended to me for the future. I don't work for either of them or am being payed to write them in, I don't work for anyone anymore since I have no car. Will never deal with these people again. First when I dropped my car off for an estimate the guy couldn't be bothered to remember anything or write it down, so I had to repeat my name, car make and model, insurance and everything else at least 10 times while trying to deal with a toddler. I was then tossed a set of keys to a rental that they would not go over with me, which had damages that when returning later they tried to bill me for. Anyway 2 months later they call me letting me know they can't even get some of the parts for my car, they just decided to try and fix the parts but left the new ones on the bill. They finally called me and told me to pick up my car. A 45 minute drive later I was looking at a car that was no where near done and they acted like it was the best work they had ever done. Told them I would not take it in that condition, and took their rental car back and left. Came back a week later and the car was in a little bit better shape. I just took the car back called the insurance to hold pay,net and will take it somewhere else to have the work finished. Stay away! read more

I have never had such a horrible experience in my life. The 3C kept our explorer for 24 days for a door replacement. This meant charging $900 dollars for a rental car-- they use their own rental car-- so we freely advertised their shop for 24 days. When we asked them to work with us, the general manager Kevin Darst became belligerent. We were rightly frustrated and Kevin would only speak with my husband. He became very angry, yelling that he would not work with "smart alec people" and only would bring my husband back to to his office. He began to say that he would work with us if we promised not to post on social media, but my husband asked to speak with someone else. They said there was no one else to talk to as he was the general manager and would not release my car to us before we paid the $900 for the rental car. When I said we intended to dispute the charges with the credit card company, another employee threatened to only accept cash because it was a "moral issue." Kevin Darst threatened that I could talk to his lawyer and displayed an incredible attitude of sexism by only allowing my husband back to his office and saying that he would only work him -- not me. We are frankly shocked and horrified that the general manager of a large chain of stores would treat his customers in this way. read more

Our wheel chair van was hit by a deer and altho it looks better now than it has in a long time (no paint chips) it was a very difficult process... somewhere between the insurance company and the body shop there was a long delay in getting the vehicle back which resulted in my wife being house bound for a month unable to get out without the wheel chair van. In the winter of 2010 I wrecked my 2009 Toyota Corolla. I started to take it to Toyota dealer to have it repaired but they told me that they were going to do a quick bondo job and use after generic after market parts because that is what the insurance company would want them to do. I did not like what the Toyota dealer's body shop told me so I decided to send it to Three C Body Shop. I chose to use Three C Body Shop because I always herd their commercials on the radio against shady insurance companies. When I talked to Three C Body Shop they promised me the world and told me that they would only use OEM parts and paint on my car and that it would be a quick easy process so I let them do the work. I chose to use their rental car because it was convenient. They gave me a 10 year old beater that was very loud, smelled like smoke and had Three C Body Shop Logos all over it like it was a driving billboard. They said that that was the only rental car they had on hand at the time. I was very busy and the insurance was paying for the rental so I accepted it so I could move on with my day. It took about a month for 3 C to finish the work on my car. When they gave me the car back, I took a look around it. The body work and paint looked horrible. The paint had bubbles in it, I could see the bondo under the paint, the caulk in the wheel wells was lumpy and painted over and the doors and trunk would not shut correctly. I refused to take the car back in this condition and demanded Three C Body Shop to do the work over a second time. It took 3 C another week to do the work over again. When they tried to give me the car back the second time, the body work looked better but the paint did not match so I demanded that they do the work over again for a third time. Another week passed and and I got the car back. The body work and paint was not that great but I was so frustrated decided to just take my car back. When I returned their old beater of a rental, they did a very through inspection of it and they acted like I put every scratch ding and dint on their rental car and they acted like they wanted to charge me for it. I drove my car home and every thing seemed to be fine. A couple of weeks later I could hear a loud rattling / banging noise in the rear suspension where the car had been wrecked. I took the car back and spoke to the production manager (Kevin Darst) about the situation. At first he tried to act like the rear suspension noise was my problem and that I would have to pay to have it repaired. After a brief argument Kevin Darst he politely said would have it looked at and then he would decide it if they would warranty the work. They decided that it was their problem and they fixed it but Kevin Darst would not give me any details about what they had to do to fix the suspension. About two month passed and on day I was working in my garage and I notice that the clear cote was chipping off where they tried to blend the paint into another panel of the car. I took the car back to Three C Body Shop one again. I showed the production manager (Kevin Darst) where the clear cote was chipping off of the car where they did the work and he claimed that it was a manufacture defect. I got into a heated argument with Kevin and told me to have it looked at by another body shop. I took my car to a Toyota dealer and two other body shops and they all criticized Three C Body Shops work. They all said that it was clearly Three C Body Shops poor work that caused the clear coat to chip off the car. At this point I was so frustrated that I called Kevin Darst (He would not answer my phone call) and left a message telling him that I would not let Three C Body Shop touch my car ever again. I decided to pay another company out of my own pocket to have the car repaired the right way. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company. On Thursday morning I left information on the web site to be contacted for an estimate. They would call me "shortly". They called Friday afternoon. When I requested a "free mobile estimate" (available per the web site), I was informed that their ONE mobile unit for estimates had been down "for months"! This is a large company with numerous locations in the Columbus area. REALLY BOB JUNIPER? I will no longer give you credibility when I hear your ads, and I will certainly not give you my business anytime soon. Your Yelp reviews indicate I am not alone. read more

A close friend recently visited this shop. In my opinion this shop is horrible. There was an incident between my friend and Al, a worker there, who cursed at my friend and his wife. The owner was contacted and instead of listening to the customer decided to rudely insinuate that my friend was lying and told him he "would see how hard it would be to get his car back." What kind of company makes childish threats like that? They seem to force you into working with them only to threaten you if you do not like the service. Absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
