My S2000 needed a tow to get serviced due to a transmission failure. The driver, Greg was super helpful and got my car there safely without damaging the car at all. Keep in mind my car is very very low to the ground - he took extra care of the car and was very meticulous. He took extra time just to make sure everything was safe and no damage could be done to the car while loading and unloading. Saying that the property owner requested it, I am the property owner and I didn't request it! Today on 7/16/24 is requiring me to pay $457.95 to get back property of vehicle they STOLE from me! Isn't that blackmail receiving stolen property? I was wondering how I could make this move happen with no car. Well, an hour later, that car was on its way to their shop, and I was out to rent a car and try to get back on track. After a recent auto accident, my car was in need of tow - tough to drive with those darned side-curtain airbags down. The tortfeasor's insurance company was only able to tell me that B&J would be there within the hour. The dispatcher called about 30 minutes later when the driver was about 10-15 minutes out - great service! When the driver arrived he was polite and very friendly. We chatted for awhile about the accident and airbags, it was enjoyable. I offered to move the car to make it easier for him to load, but he stepped up and did it himself. When the technician arrived he assessed the situation and changed the tire out to the spare. The price was reasonable enough for a 92 degree day. So, where to start. Today my plan was to bring home my mustang to get started on getting it back together. Originally, I was going to get it yesterday but where it is right now, it needs to be dry to get it. Well yesterday it rained so I cancelled the appointment to get it to not waste thier time and risk them getting stuck. Prior to setting up the appointment, I called Broad and James towing, and explained to them the whole scenario. They agreed that setting up the appointment for friday would not work and they said today would not be an issue. So I called this morning and re-explained that it needs to be rotated and that it needs to be accessed from a grassy area in front of a pole barn. They said it wont be an issue. So appointment is set up for 5:00 pm to allow for the ground to dry more and it was managable per the driver Nick, but not with his truck. He said they would have to bring the smaller truck out. He calls back to the dispatch and tells them that they would need to send the smaller rollback out to get it. The manager, Jim, then tells him that they would only do it if I agreed to pay an additional $89.99 to have the other truck come out to "assist". The driver has the manager call me and the manager says that he doesnt care if it was thier fault they sent the wrong truck, if I wanted it to be towed, I had to pay the extra. Then he walkie talkied the driver as he is standing in front of me and berates the driver for telling me that they sent the wrong truck. Thus justifying that it was their failure. So Jim at Broad and James towing, thank you for wasting my time, destroying my plan to get my car home and delaying me in my plans. You are a worthless waste if space and secured that I will NEVER do business with you again. Also, if you treat your employees like that in front of customers, good luck on having any drivers or customers. read more

Broad and James Towing should be avoided at all costs. Between the overcharging, damage to my vehicle and stolen items by them I will never allow them to touch my property. Oh and the guy left a stack of customer documents in my car. Over two dozen documents each with all the customer credit cards. They are very dishonest and the owners decided to take pleasure out of cheating me. The woman office manager is incapable of being truthful. Avoid these crooks like the plague!!!!! read more

Better hope if your car gets towed, that it's not by this company. They wont bother telling you that just bc they are open and that you have paid to get your car back, that you are at the mercy of the tow truck drivers and could be sitting down the road from their office at their impound lot waiting for a tow truck driver to become available to get your car out. Been sitting at gate for over an hr now. They definitely abuse their power in this situation, and have no problem telling you that oh well, it's your fault your car got towed and hang up on you. Yep our fault, cost us 168 to get our car back. Unfortunately crap happens, but that doesnt give anyone the right to not give your car back when you have paid or talk to you the woman does in the office. The expert (Dan Coons) who attended my car ( I was locked out) did it in a way that did not leave a scratch and that too in less than 60 seconds. My car wouldn't start, so I called the roadside assistance I have with my car insurance and they in turn sent out Broad & James to my rescue. I was initially going to have my car towed to another service shop based on reviews that I had read, but the tow truck driver talked me into having my car towed to their shop instead (but not in a pushy way). I went ahead and let him take my car because their diagnostic fee ($75) was less than others I had talked to, as was their hourly labor fee ($75). The tow truck driver even offered to drop me off at work. Score! When they called me with the estimate several hours later, I found out how expensive it was going to be to fix my car (about $969). I called around a couple of other shops and unfortunately this was pretty much the going rate. Luckily, I found a friend who could fix my car for much cheaper. I called Broad & James to see if there was anything that they could do to get my car able to run enough to make it the seven miles to my friend's house so that I didn't have to pay for another tow being that my insurance would only cover the one. They called me back shortly and let me know that they were able to. Yay! All that they ended up charging me for was the diagnosis. I've heard of other shops that would charge to keep your car overnight or refuse to do anything to help you out if you were taking your car elsewhere to be fixed. Broad & James was very courteous to me each time I called. Also, their towing rates are cheaper than other places I called ($59 to hitch and then $2 per mile). Though I can't attest to their handiwork in the garage, I would definitely call them if I needed a tow. read more

Truly the least compassionate, unkind, rude person I have ever dealt with in the phone. She just kept repeating "no! no! No!" Even when I asked for viable alternatives. My 80 year old mother is in the hospital with Influenza A and pneumonia and, while I understand the car is in her name, this employee was completely unhelpful and rude when I asked for alternative solutions. Even if my mother gets is out of the hospital, I am not dragging her down there to be treated as poorly as I was treated over the phone. The woman on the phone started rambling about "power of attorney" which is death-speak and entirely heartless, unhelpful, and of course is going to prompt emotions in an already-emotional situation. Still trying to find solutions, I was going to ask have asked about getting something notarized, but she kept repeating the same thing I could barely get a word in. RUDE. UNKIND. Waited over two hours in the early afternoon on a weekday. Was told originally it'd be less than an hour. Called back and was told it'd be 10-15 minutes. Like another hour later I called and canceled, my husband drove from work 30 miles away, stopped at a tire store, bought a new wheel and tire and came to change it in less time than this horrible company took to dispatch a truck. I am so impressed with how Broad & James handled my dire car situation. My car suddenly started smoking from the hood while I was driving by myself. I contacted my insurance co for roadside assistance and they dispatched Broad & James Towing. I was a nervous wreck but as soon as Joe stepped out of his truck to help me, my nerves calmed and he assured me everything was going to be ok. I don't have family in the area so I was planning on ubering home, but Joe was nice enough to drop me off at home so didn't have to spend the extra money. This all happened on a Sunday so the repair shop was closed. Monday, the next day at 8:30am I received a call from the auto shop with what they found wrong with my car. I was very impressed with how quickly they got back to me. The price was fair and they even checked a few other things under the hood I had questions on.
