I headed straight for the tool section, where Jude helped me track down the exact drill bits I needed. Both Jude and Nathan were excellent--helpful, patient, and friendly. The product selection is solid, but what really stood out is the level of customer service. It's rare these days to find retail staff who go above and beyond, and these two certainly did (even humoring me as I reminisced about my own time working in retail). As a funny side note, I even got the chance to chase after a customer and his dog after he accidentally left a dog bone behind at the counter. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to return it--maybe he'll return for his purchase! All in all, great selection, great service, and a team that makes shopping here a genuinely positive experience.

When we contacted customer service, instead of taking responsibility, they made us pay for the replacement items upfront and told us we'd only get a refund once the incorrect items were returned. This is such a poor way to do business. If a company makes a mistake--especially on an order this expensive--they should be the ones to fix it without putting the burden on the customer. To make matters worse, when the reordered items arrived, they were missing parts. Between the lack of accountability, the customer service frustration, and the quality control issues, this has been a stressful and disappointing experience. The other stores didn't have the screws we needed, we think, it's hard tell because everything is packaged up. To have keys made - you (the customer) do that at a kiosk machine...no thank you. Once at Ace someone helped us right away. He was personable and knowledgeable, he understood what we needed for our project. The screws are loose in little drawers and it was easy to find the length we needed. AND they even make the keys for you, which we had them do. In addition, on our way out of the store we noticed they sold Weber gas grills. We ended up purchasing one online and had it assembled and delivered, (both free) from this same store. The store worked with me on a delivery time and even called when they were on their way. The grill was delivered on time and looks great. The delivery guys were friendly and quick. This will be our hardware store from now on!
