Heard about the wings so stopped in to try them, Decent wings nothing to write home to Mom about they were good but not worth travelling more than 10 minutes for! The conch fritters were "conchless" just a bunch os seasoned balls of fried batter! The clams casino were good but I never had them where the clams are minced and mixed with batter! The food and service is great at this place. We had an assortment of items from the menu. We started off with the nacho platter and fried cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were normal like most places and the nacho platter was very good! We also ordered hot wings as an appetizer. They were also very good. They do only have three wing flavors. I had the angus burger with onion rings. Also very good. The negatives is that it is a locals place, which gets crowded quickly, but friends gave us a heads up so we got there just before the rush. Also, it's uncommon to see only a few choices for wing flavors, but I'm ok with hot. A must try but be there before 6pm. read more

Such a shame that I probably won't return anytime soon. I'm 40 years old and have been eating here since I was a teenager. Food and service has gone down over the years. Today I ordered the clam chowder to start, my wife the conch chowder. Our server warned me that it was "piping" hot when it came out! Well, obviously the bowl of wallpaper paste-like soup had just come out of the microwave. I gave it a stir, hoping for the best. Nope, it was cold. Ok, no big deal. Put my spoon down and wait for Tricia to return. My plan was to ask for a bowl of the tasty conch chowder my wife was enjoying and forget about the coagulated warm mess in front of me. Well, good old Tricia returned 5 minutes later. Seeing my chowder sitting in front of me uneaten she asked if it was still too hot. I explained that after microwaving, the bowl was hot but the contents still cold. She insisted they don't have a microwave and took the soup away. I skipped ordering another bowl anticipating my dolphin sandwich not being far behind. If she hadn't returned and told me how hot the soup was when she returned to the kitchen with it, I probably wouldn't have even written this. DON'T call your customer a liar! 4.5 stars. Loved this local eats and bar that superseded my expectations . Super friendly staff. Knowledgeable about the menu and was not disappointed. Best tuna melt. And, trust me, i know tuna melts. Pure white albacore tuna made fresh with regular mayonnaise (not sweet miracle whip) They do not skimp on serving size either. I ordered with swirled rye bread and cheddar cheese. Fries are hand cut and freshly made. Sooo delish. nice beer selection as well. I chose to eat up at the bar hoping to chat with locals ....and mission completed. Had a lovely time. Everyone was do friendly and i was invited to see a live band later on. After lunch i took my beverage outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather in an Adirondack chair. Took my shoes off and enjoyed the sand. Not my first time and have never had disappointing food before, but the chicken wings served to me today were laughably small. They were the size of my thumb at most. Very disappointed and over priced for the size (hardly any meat) On the other hand my husbands cheeseburger was a good size and the toppings fresh. So, NOT the place for chicken wings. read more

Service was ok, napkins would be nice especially when a child is with you. Only one was given. We asked how much the catch if the day Mahi Mahi was as a sandwich. $16.95. Ok . Then we asked which one of the catches as a sandwich is better. Response was Grouper as a sandwich and not a meal. We received the bill and the Grouper sandwich was $24. When the bill came we asked if the price was as correct. The he waitress said yes. She even mentioned that the Grouper Meal was $32. It appears the waitress knows the prices off the top of her head for the market prices. This is a burger/sports place. Basic burger was $12. Last time we came here it was a rush since I didn't order drinks as I was driving and there was a line out front. I just can't recommend this place. I'll start by saying we do like thirsty turtle wings. Today we placed a to-go order (normally we dine in). From past experiences of being shorted a wing or two about 25% of the time, we count our wings. Normally not a big deal cause we just get them replaced while we're dining in or they credit us for the ones missing. We ordered 2 orders of 20 wings. Got them home and one order had 19 wings. Expecting it not be a big deal and could be easily credited back to our credit card - I called the restaurant. I explained to the nice young lady what happened and she asked me to hold. A gruff gentleman came on the line and was like how can I help you. I explained to him that hat happened and he laughed at me. Then said what's your name and said we'll credit you for the one wing when you come in. We probably go every few months as it takes us 30 minutes to get there. The gentleman, who I assume was the manager (he did not give his name or identify his position) advised me that they couldn't just credit us. After the experience on the phone, it doesn't really make me all that comfortable to return to the restaurant. I think it's silly to make a customer feel stupid because they called about a shortage in their order. I really just want to be charged for what I received instead of being charged the full price for the order. You get two stars for that stellar customer service and we probably won't return because I don't appreciate it. read more

Third disappointment in a row from one of our Friday night go to spots. Last time was overcooked burnt tasting chicken wings. Tonight I had the chicken stinger sandwich which I sent the first one back and the 2nd one was only slightly better. Barely warm fries and chicken. Bun right out of the bag along with the cheese not melted at all. About ready to right this place off for good. If your into gin joints then this place is for you...came here after going to loggerhead turtle research center and I can honestly say ... not worth the money they charge for food... they took forever to seat us and the man that did didn't look like he even wanted to be there, table sticky, seat had remnant of food on it that I wipe away, place outdated neighborhood bar... we ordered are food and I requested my simple cheese burger be well we'll cooked no red at all... they couldn't even get that right...the washroom was actually clean which shocked me...but other that it's a no .... This place is AMAZING! I got the hot wings and they are so delicious. They are spicy and a bit sweet. The wings are served with celery and ranch (or blue cheese). The ranch tastes homemade and is 10/10! The fries are tasty. I got to-go food and it was ready when they told me it would be. I picked up at the front hostess stand and servers were wearing masks. What a cool place. I've heard numerous things about this gem throughout the years and it's been in the back of my mind since. Finally got to come in today for lunch with my momma. Ordered the wings since I've heard they're the best in town! No lie, they were! Their homemade wing sauce has a little sweetness in it which makes it oh so good! My mother got the shrimp fiesta which was a rice bowl with black beans, peppers, onions, corn and melted cheese. That was yummy too. Put fat asses also ordered dessert since were on a little staycation this week. The turtle ice cream pie and a coca-cola cake. Holy yumminess!! Im looking forward to our leftovers for dinner tonight. I was looking at yelp for restaurants near out hotel and found Thirsty Turtle which was literally around the corner from the hotel. It's located in a strip mall so there isn't much to say about the front of the store. We went in and it was friendly. There were several TV's with different games going on. On the wall, next to the entrance were several signed dollar bills and just to our dismay, lots of Yankees memorabilia and us being Red Sox fans was slightly depressing. The waiter was friendly. We stared with fried calamari. It may have been a little over cooked as I found several pieces that all I could taste was the batter and not the calamari. However, the sauces were tasty and went very well with the calamari. I ordered the fish and chips. It was very good. The batter was thick and tasty. The fish easily fell apart which made me know it was well cooked. My daughter decided on the coconut shrimp and enjoyed it as well. My wife went for the seared scallop cobb salad. She said it was very good. The vegetables were fresh and the dressing good. She was a little disappointed at the amount of scallops she received. It was a nice meal. read more

We were visiting family from out of state and decided to try this place out. We sat outside and it was a cool place. They have a jungle type set up with tiki torches lit up. The customer service was great. Our server was new but she did amazing. The food was pretty good. We tried a few appetizers and they were all good. I have been to Thirsty Turtle a few times now and hands down, the wings are the best thing on the menu. The wraps are good, the burgers are good, but the wings are exceptional. I've been going to thirsty turtle for years and years. This is a casual sports bar type setting with amazing wings! Turtle has the best wings around!! The sauce is part of the reason the wings are so delicious, it's a garlic sauce and makes my mouth water when thinking about it. Before Covid they had live music at times. Marcella was our server, and she appeared to not want to be there. She took our orders, sat the food down and walked away. She never checked back, offered refills, desert. We were a table of 4 and wanted to drink, sadly we each had one!! The food was very good, and we all enjoyed it. We left her 15% tip cash in the table and when we were checking our bank, our total bill was $60 and the bank said $85. ALSOO, she made us feel so uncomfortable, she brought the check TO THE TABLE without us even FINISHING our food NEITHER WE ASKED for the check. Do not go there. We had a friendly server that was patient with our table, even though we have been there a hundred times some of the table could not decide what they would like. Food was decent like always, not my favorite as everything was fairly cold by the time it made it out to us since some of the table got wings which takes longer to cook. Came here for lunch before going to the beach as we have never been here before. I came here with 4 other people. The atmosphere was cheery and not to busy especially since it was a Saturday afternoon. We sat in the back patio. Our waitress greeted us. We started with 5 waters. We ordered the following food. Fresh shrimp which was peel and eat, philly cheese steak, 18 wings medium, 36 steamed clams, crab tacos with mango salsa, chicken breast, and French onion soup. The soup was awful. You can see from the pictures it was very greasy, full of cheese, soup was salty and otherwise tasteless. My friend or myself didn't even eat a fourth of it as it was that bad. The clams were ok. Nothing to write home about. The butter sauce was tasteless as no flavor was put into it. The cheese steak again was terrible. Bread was soggy, steak was tasteless as if it was frozen and defrosted and had no seasoning. It fell apart when you picked it up. The wings were supposed to be the hero here. Absolutely furthest from the truth. Wings were small as others have complained about. Dry, fried, not seasoned as they through globs of sauce on it to hide its inadequate taste. I didn't even want to finish the 12 my wife and I ordered as I always eat wings because it was terrible. My third friend had to help finish them. The chicken breast was ok my friend said. Looked like it wasn't fresh as was previously frozen. Let me start with the second worst dish, the crab tacos. What were they thinking making it extremely greasy, putting some white noodles that are very hard and tasteless and was weird. It was a very weird combo. I can see what they were trying for but really missed big time. Crab was lacking flavor as it was hidden under the mango salsa which tasted like it came out of a jar. The winner for the day was the shrimp. It was the only thing that was kinda good. However, some of the shrimp were not deveined and had the intestinal track still in it.
