One of the best dining experiences I have had. Coming from Atlanta we have a ton of great Cajun options but this really impressed. Everything from the ambiance to the food and even the service was phenomenal. Great dining room area with both an outdoor and indoor bar. We sat with the bartender AB that immediately greeted us with waters and their menu. They are currently running a pick 2 for $15.99 menu that has some pretty great options. We had 2 meals & chose the wings, blackened shrimp po boy with the small gumbo's. Wings were super crispy, juicy, and tender. With a nice light Smokey taste. They buffalo and blue cheese sauce was actually pretty impressive. The po boy had a good amount of shrimp to bread ratio, with a nice sauce included. The gumbo had a deep rich flavor, but was not overly heavy with fatty meats. We were also informed of the happy hour oyster special, so we ended up getting a few of the rockerfella and raw. The rockerfella was amazing with melty cheese, a nice garlic flavor, & served with crispy bread slices. The raw came with crackers, lemon, wine vinegar, and a tasty cocktail sauce. Both were delicious. Marco, the manager came and spoke with us about our experience which really showed the attention to detail this restaurant offers. After sharing our story of visiting New Orleans a few years ago and bragging about the beignets, he brought us 2 out to finish our meal. I have to say, these were better than the ones I've had at cafe beignet in NOLA. They were HOT out the fryer to the point where the powdered sugar was slightly melted. Crisp outside dough but gooey soft in the center. A unreal experience to end a fantastic meal. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Luckily my sister lives 5 mins from this place but I would easily drive a hour or 2 when visiting from out of town just for this experience. After seriously underestimating the Florida heat and walking a mile and a half to Voodoo, the experience was worth every step. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was freakin' awesome. The New Orleans vibe was absolutely on point and set the tone for a great meal. Our waitress was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. She recommended her favorite dish, and it ended up becoming my favorite too. Now, I'm a country boy, so the deviled eggs just weren't my style, but everything else more than made up for it. The cornbread was incredible. Honestly, I couldn't decide if I was eating cake or cornbread--it was that good. The barbecue shrimp was outstanding and easily one of my favorite dishes (our waitress clearly has great taste!). The fried oysters were cooked to perfection, and the baked chicken was seasoned and prepared just right. The gator tail was great with the sauce. I've had scalloped potatoes many times over the years, but these were on another level--definitely some for the record books. To start, parking was not easy on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and when we walked to the hostess stand to check in, I was told "okay, my coworker is going to seat that party, that party, that party, that party and that party and then you". My family and I then waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The ambiance is pretty cool and I like how the tables are spaced apart enough where you don't feel like you're part of someone else's group. The food was actually disappointing though. Deviled eggs were surprisingly flavorless and lacking in any identifiable seasoning. The menu stated they were garnished with caviar, however, it was maybe 2-3 actual pieces per egg. Disappointment would be a recurring sentiment throughout our meal. I had the shrimp and crawsfish etouffee and was ultimately disappointed. The flavor was strange and again, not identifiable seasoning-wise. Our kids enjoyed their food, so that was a positive note. The baby had pasta and green beans with pink lemonade and seemed to have really enjoyed his evening, taking in the atmosphere while enjoying his dinner. However, they do not have burgers on the kids menu and when we asked about it, our waitress initially said it shouldn't be a problem since they have sliders on their happy hour menu and they would probably be able to just do that. She disappeared to ask her manager and came back 45 seconds later with a resounding no, and that we could only get it and he charged for the burger off the entree menu. I had a great time at Voodoo Bayou for happy hour. The bar area is a nice size with both indoor and outdoor seating, creating a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The drinks were very well made, and I especially enjoyed the Snake Oil Salesman cocktail, it tasted like a delicious spicy margarita. The happy hour food specials were excellent. The baked garlic butter oysters and Rockefeller oysters were both very good and such a great deal. The deviled eggs and Gumbo Ya Ya were also full of flavor and definitely worth trying. This is a neat little restaurant in a strip mall complex in West Palm Beach. There are tons of free parking spaces available in the mall's parking lot. This place is huge, with a large two-level dining area, a small stage, and a bar on the first level and another on the second. They also have televisions to watch. You will also find a decent-sized patio area connected to the bar on the first level. This place is dimly lit. The staff there was very friendly and we were seated right away. The place accepts reservations, but we did not have any. The restaurants serve all of your Creole/Southern favorites. We started with an order of deviled eggs. They were very. My kids got some chicken tenders and mac & cheese, and said they were both delicious. I leaped and got some fried oysters. They were fresh and some of the best oysters that I have ever had. And I lived in New Orleans for about 10 years. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. He kept our cups full and gave us spot-on recommendations. He was awesome. This is a nice little spot with great service, delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. My family thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, and I highly recommend this restaurant. Well now! Where do I start. We met some friends for lunch. 6 total. Service was fine, not great not subpar. We were warned that a salad with fried chicken strips would take a bit, but holy smokes we were half way through our lunches before the fried chicken showed up. As for me, I had the shrimp and Grits. Very cheesy and very flavorful. My wife enjoyed her salad. Sorry no pictures of the food. I was hungry. It was a great day but the only table for 6 was in the sun, so we ate inside. It was a darkened type of interior. Lots of dark wood. Just needed some more subtle lighting. Overall, it was fine but nothing to right home about. Now for the part that I didn't like. We had such a great experience at Voodoo Bayou! Riley, our waiter, was amazing, super friendly, gave awesome recommendations, and checked on us often without ever being overbearing. You can tell he genuinely cares about the experience. Another waitress, Kayla, even stopped by to say hello and make sure we were doing well, which made it feel so warm and welcoming, like you're hanging out in someone's living room in the best way. For food, we started with the biscuits, which were SO good, and the wood fired chili butter oysters that Riley recommended. Hint of Smoke and juicy!!! Deviled eggs w Caviar and Black Truffle are not what they are cracked up to be. Just a basic deviled egg taste. Couldnt taste and truffle or caviar. Good but Not worth the price point. Grilled Cheese Oysters were delicious!!! Came out piping hot and when eaten, the are between raw and cooked. So tender and sweet w a parm cheese crust!!! Definitely would buy again! Gumbo- was waaaaay over peppered. The flavor was good w perfectly cooked shrimp but the black pepper was overwhelming the dish. Past experiences, the Gumbo has been one of the best, but not tonight. Now the main reason to visit Voodoo. The beignets- 5 per serving, comes out piping hot covered in powder sugar!!! So light and puffy and each bite melts in your mouth. If I didnt know, I would think there was some type of creme inside! These are NOT like the donut style most places serve. I've been to Voodoo Bayou many times for both dinner and happy hour. For context, I'm from Texas, right next door to Louisiana, so I know a little something about Cajun food. With that said, Voodoo Bayou is... just okay on the food front. Not bad, but not quite hitting the mark if you're judging by Louisiana standards. That said, I actually like the restaurant more than I like the food. The bartenders have always been cool, and I've never had issues with table service--waitstaff are generally helpful and attentive. The setup is nice too: two sides to the bar inside, part of it extending outside, plus outdoor tables, which makes it a good spot to hang out. Food-wise, the happy hour wings are genuinely delicious and probably my favorite thing on the menu. I've also had the oyster po' boy and the jambalaya, and both were just okay if you're used to stronger Cajun flavors. Overall, it's a cool spot for drinks (might need a few to feel something), atmosphere, and happy hour. I wouldn't go in expecting authentic Louisiana-level Cajun food, but it's still a pleasant place to spend time, especially if you're nearby. read more

Unique New Orleans style restaurant serving up tasty Cajun cuisine. The food was delicious and the presentation was nice. The decor inside is beautiful. The service was great. We started with some deviled eggs and it looked adorable. The little swirls was topped with some caviar which was a nice touch. Light and fluffy texture. My jumbo crab cake benedict came out quickly but on the way to the table, one poached egg fell off the stack and the server said he needed to bring it back and redo it. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the staff only wanted to serve their dishes at its best. Great training on Vodoo Bayou! Second plate came out beautifully and tasted delightful. Was up in palm beach for cruise looked up restaurants and reviews voodoo came up with really nice reviews and so me and my wife got here parking is tough here if coming pay 10 dollars for valet. They are on open table so reserve a table much easier. So place is very decorative with real mood lighting. Bar is very big. I ordered chicken and biscuits and my wife ordered shrimp and grits. Every once in a while, I like to visit a place just to see particular in these large places that turn over the kitchen in the front pretty regularly if They're walking the walk. Today I was not disappointed. The gumbo Yaya and the red beans and rice were on point red beans and rice were a little tepid but tasty. We met at the bar for happy hour (4-7) before sitting for dinner. They offer both drink and food specials. We had the cup of gumbo which was spicy but well liked by our friends, I had the friend oysters fried perfectly and the pear and pecan salad, which was way too sweet and swimming in dressing...order your dressing on the side! The bartender that cashed us out at the bar was rather rude, as we closed out our tabs before heading to our table for dinner. Our friend wanted to order one more drink while happy hour was still available, but because he was rude she decided not to. Friends had the Gumbo, BBQ Shrimp and Shrimp and Grits which was well liked and arrived hot. My Blackened Shrimp PoBoy was terrible, cold roll and cold shrimp...worst sandwich I've ever had! Hubs had the fried chicken sandwich which was not hot either, something he would not order again. The side of broccoli rabe was cold. Side of Cesar salad had dressing that was way too salty and not palpable. Luckily I asked for the dressing on the side and could control the amount. Later that night my husband realized we were overcharged for our drink. They said they will make an adjustment back to our cc. Wow--what a huge difference in our experience. I just want to say a massive thank you to Marco, the manager, who was kind enough to reach out and invite me back for a second visit. This was honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Riley, our waiter, was incredibly attentive--always making sure our drinks were filled and that everything was just right. Marco was exceptional as well, checking in and making sure the entire experience ran smoothly. The level of service was truly top-notch. I ordered the blackberry lemonade and it originally got confused with the black magic lemonade, which has alcohol in it. Our server was super apologetic and I get it - they are similarly named. I think they should change one of the names. The lemonade was very refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. Hubby got a guava infused lager, which he really liked. For entrees, I got the fried chicken and biscuit, while hubby got the cajun carbonara. The fried chicken was very crispy and spiced appropriately (read: not spicy), yet very moist! I chose to do all white meat, which an upcharge but very worth it. The biscuit was buttery and luscious. The meal came with hot honey to drizzle over it. Hubby's carbonara was deemed too rich and cheesy so he ate half of my chicken and some of his pasta. Honestly, we could have shared an entree - they were that big!! Now for the REAL reason you come - the beignets!!! The beignets were absolute perfection. Reasonable amount of powdered sugar, pillowy soft, and served warm. Heaven. This is a must order! All the food had a great robust Cajun flavor and everything was cooked excellently! There was smokiness, richness and nothing was overpowering. The old fashioned was smoked at the table and the ice cream sundae was MASSIVE!! I could only eat 1/4 of it. I loved the candied nuts stashed in the center. The single best item was by and far the beignets! They were soft and doughy and sweet and melt in your mouth amazing!!! So good we went back the next day for some beignets to go!
