Sat in front of the Whiskey Neat windows on the patio and ordered a slab of ribs. The bar is lit up with red lighting, a red brick back drop and some cool artwork against the warm wood panel walls. The front area had some basic sofas kinda a cigar bar theme. The ambiance is not even close to the sultry sexy vibe at their Sunrise location, although the open courtyard here with the coconut trees make up for the shortcomings. The gender neutral bathroom had cool brick wrap around walls and withered black tile flooring but needed some TLC, obviously no bathroom checklists enforced here.

The drinks were absolutely on point and I walked away with a much better appreciation for whiskey than I came in with. The prices were surprisingly decent for what you're getting, which made the whole experience feel even better. But what really got me was the ambience. Inside and out, this place just hits different. There's a vibe here that's hard to put into words -- it feels elevated but not pretentious. They had a DJ going and it perfectly complemented the energy without being overwhelming. It just all came together in the best way. Strongly recommend. Whether you're a whiskey veteran or just starting to explore it like me, this is a must-visit in Fort Lauderdale. Do yourself a favor and go.

We stopped by Voodoo Bayou, a Cajun-inspired restaurant that definitely did not disappoint. We went during happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM (bar area only). Right away, we noticed how friendly the staff was, and the ambiance was absolutely amazing. I also heard they have live music on certain nights, which makes me want to come back even more! Now, let's get to the food. I decided to try the fried oysters, and listen... for my first time trying oysters, I was hooked! They were so good that I ordered a second round. My husband ordered the hickory-smoked wings, and let me tell you, these are a MUST-TRY. The flavor was incredible! Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering their famous beignets. OMG! They were absolutely delicious. If I had any room left, I would have ordered another plate. And how could we order all that food without some drinks? You know me better than that! My husband ordered the Black Magic Lemonade with bourbon, and it quickly became his favorite drink of the day. Then he spotted an Old Fashioned on the menu, and there was no way he was passing that up--he was in heaven! As for me, I ordered the Frozen Hurricane, and let me just say... it definitely did the job! This place has officially made our list of favorite happy hour spots. We can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. And of course, I'll be bringing all my foodies along for the journey! Until next time, my foodie lovers!

The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved everything we ordered. The shepherd's pie was definitely a favorite, and the appetizers were just as good. There are great places you go to for a drink. There are…read moregreat places you go to for food. And then there are places that create such a perfect environment that every night feels memorable. John Martin's Irish Pub is one of those rare places. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the history and authenticity. This is not a place pretending to be an Irish pub. The atmosphere is real, warm, and inviting. The craftsmanship of the bar, the energy of the room, and the welcoming staff create a vibe that is incredibly hard to replicate. The whiskey selection is absolutely phenomenal. If you appreciate Irish whiskey, this place is paradise. Their collection is one of the most impressive in South Florida and the bartenders truly know their craft. The food deserves just as much praise. The shepherd's pie is honestly something to die for. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The fish and chips are fantastic, the classic pub dishes are executed beautifully, and every plate feels authentic. Then there is the live music. The atmosphere during live performances is electric in the best way possible. It is lively, fun, and full of energy while still being a place where you can enjoy conversation and great company. But what truly transforms a great place into a perfect place is leadership. That is where Anna comes in. I first met Anna years ago when she was managing at another venue, and I witnessed firsthand how she handles people and situations. Her professionalism, calm leadership, and ability to create a welcoming environment stood out immediately. When I discovered she had become the General Manager here, I was excited to visit again. The transformation since she took over has been remarkable. The energy of the staff, the attention to detail, and the overall experience reflect the leadership behind the scenes. Anna is the heart of this place. As someone who manages a large company and hundreds of employees, I can say with complete honesty that she is one of the most impressive leaders I have ever seen in action. She leads by example, treats people with respect, and creates an environment where both staff and guests feel valued. There is something almost unbelievable about her positivity. Every time I see her she is smiling, welcoming guests, and making sure everyone is having a great experience. It is contagious. You leave feeling happier than when you arrived. That kind of leadership is rare. John Martin's is already an incredible establishment with amazing food, incredible whiskey, and one of the best atmospheres in Coral Gables. But with someone like Anna leading the team, the place continues to get better and better. Where she goes, I will always follow. Because every time I bring friends, family, or dates here, the night ends up being unforgettable. Miami is full of places to go out. Very few reach this level. John Martin's absolutely does.

We also tried the 4 evergreen with a shot of gin and it was so refreshing. I would order both drinks again. The service was great and the prices of the drinks are reasonable. The staff kept checking on us and answered any questions we had. I will definitely return to this establishment whenever I want to have fun.

I messaged them on Instagram for the code and it came through right away since it's automated, super easy. When you walk in it literally looks like a laundry room and then opens up into a cute, intimate bar. We came on a Friday night and it wasn't too packed, which was nice. The bar itself didn't have seating, but the staff was really accommodating and rearranged some chairs and brought us a table so we could sit comfortably. The DJ was lit and set a great vibe. Drinks were good, we ordered spicy margaritas and they were strong and flavorful, though a bit pricey at around $25 each. Overall, it's a cute little spot to grab drinks, chat, and enjoy a fun speakeasy atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out.
