I was really looking forward to trying The Library Speakeasy in Lake Worth, and at first, it lived up to the hype. The vibe is super cool, cozy seating, great ambience, dim lighting that feels like a hidden gem. I sat on the comfy couch and ordered sushi from OKA, which was honestly better than ever. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were delicious too; strong, creative, and exactly what I wanted for a chill night out. I was having a great time, enjoying my meal and drinks, when disaster struck right at the end. I had literally just finished eating when a huge roach crawled right by my feet on the couch area. It was massive and absolutely disgusting. I jumped out of my seat so fast, thankfully I was done with my food, or I probably would've lost it completely. I didn't scream (which is a miracle because I definitely would have at home), but it was such a gross turn-off. I get that this is Lake Worth and Florida has its bugs, but come on, a roach that big in a dining establishment? That's not okay. You really need to step up the pest control. Also, the bathrooms could use some serious help. They're outdated and feel neglected, definitely in need of an update or renovation to match the rest of the cool vibe. Overall, the sushi shines, the drinks are spot-on, and the atmosphere is fun... but that roach ruined the ending for me, and the bathrooms don't help. Fix those things, and this place could be amazing. Hoping it was just a one-off bad night! read more

I am a sucker for a good speakeasy, and this place is super fun! It's a semi Harry Potter themed bar in the back of Lilo's in Lake Worth, and it's a total vibe. The bartender, Britt, has such a great attitude and makes even better cocktails :) They have a rotating drink menu so there's always something fun and fresh/unique to try. They also recently opened a pop up sushi shop in the back which I have yet to try, but the menu looks delightful! Every room in this place is a different theme and very cool. read more

This is a hella cool themed bar, tucked in between Lilo's and Oka in downtown Lake Worth. This is my first time at a speakeasy bar and now I am on a hunt to find more! It is Harry Potter themed which was super cool (we are Harry Potter fans), the drink menu has unique thoughtfully themed craft drinks, there is a food menu as well, that is prepared by either Lilo's or Oka. The bartender, Brittany was a delight and friendly. They do have a great happy hour menu between 5-7pm, unfortunately we arrived shortly after 7pm, but will definitely return to take advantage. We had a great evening here. After seeing some online photos and reading several reviews, we decided to come check them out. You can access the Speakeasy two ways -- either entering through Lilo's and heading to the back or directly from K street. The front room has the bar and several tables. There's another back room as well. We sat at the bar. We had great service from bartender, Vinnie. We got there in time for happy hour. They have several drinks that qualified, and I decided to try a cosmo (for the first time!). My husband enjoyed a gin martini with olives. Oka Sushi that used to be down the street just started offering their menu in the Speakeasy. You could also get items from Lilo's menu, if you wished. But right now they're touting Oka's offerings and we were excited to try them. My husband got their Kanisu roll -- a cucumber wrapped krab and avocado roll. I tried a few pieces and it was excellent. He also got their orange dragon roll which was topped with salmon. He said it, too, was very good. I got their shrimp tempura roll. It was delicious. Portions for their regular rolls were large. New evening spot for us to check out and enjoy some OKA Sushi now being offered. A cozy environment and friendly patrons and staff. We sat at the bar and Vinny immediately approached us and gave us menus and pointed out Happy Hour drink specials. I chose a Gin Martini with Olives and my wife ordered a Cosmopolitan (she requested light alcohol and Vinny was able to adjust ingredients to her liking). I ordered an Orange Dragon Roll and Kanisu Roll from the Oka kitchen. (So glad to see that Oka is still thriving on Lake Ave ... we missed you!) As we enjoyed our cocktails and chatted with others at the bar as we saw the Library starting to fill up. Our Sushi dinners arrived and I have to say this is some of the best I've had in a while. This was our first time checking out The Library Speakeasy, located behind Lilo's in downtown Lake Worth. We came for happy hour (5-7pm), and the setup was easy to find once you know where to look. The happy hour drink menu has all the classics--Old Fashioned, Margarita, Martini, etc.--for $8 each. I really appreciated that they use quality spirits, like High West bourbon for their Old Fashioned. Nicely done! We decided to try everything on the happy hour food menu. The oysters were fresh and tasty, but a few were really small and not the cleanest shuck--some shells and grit still in there, so just be careful. The Wagyu sliders were the standout for me--super juicy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the onions and pickles. I'd probably skip the crab Rangoon next time, but my husband really liked the beef balls. Very cool speakeasy that you can enter in through the back of Lilo's (or the main entrance). It's a Harry Potter themed place with lots of cute decor and mood lighting. I thought the "dealers choice" cocktail was a cool idea: you basically tell the bartender what you like, and then they "work their magic" and create a custom cocktail using your preferences. (Price starting at $15). I got a lavender bees knees which was lovely! The old fashioned was good as well. We went for a later/post dinner drink and it wasn't busy. I was inordinately fond of this place when it was simply a quiet speakeasy tucked behind Lilo's. it was a nice respite from the noise and frenetic energy of nighttime scene with all of the surrounding bars and restaurants. It was my go-to to relax and recharge when down here visiting. Now they've changed the atmosphere and menu to turn it from a Harry Potter-esq speakeasy with deliberately run down decor into a trendy, wood paneled sushi joint tucked in the back. And of course it's much more expensive to come here. I'm not saying I wouldn't come here if I'm in the area, it's just not the same. I'm sad. FTR, sushi is good if overpriced, you can order some of the items off Lilo's menu, and the specialty drinks from the speakeasy are still available. read more

The first time I went, I thought the drinks were excellent, but this last time, they were good, but not as noteworthy. The meloncholy marg was good but it had too much ice and was watered down tasting. The pisco sour was good. Returned and sat at the bar this time, since the bartender suggested he needed this as he was the only server. This was a different bartender than the person who has been there all the other times I visited. Ironically, as the night went on, the place got busier and busier as people who seemed pretty intoxicated stumbled in, and the bartender executed everything without any qualms. Got the fries again and decided to order a piece of chocolate cake to share with my friend. This cake was GIANT, and luscious, and delicious. With my limited (to say the least) experience in speakeasies, I've come to expect a certain amount of mystery and/or intrigue, but The Library is a horse of a different color. One door opens to the street for anyone to find, and the other backs up to a Lake Ave restaurant, so not what one would call very mysterious or intriguing... That said, once you're inside the vibe is exactly what you want in a hidden drinking parlor. Quiet, laid back, and chill. While a fully stocked bar is there on display and in use, the spotlight is on craft cocktails. Our choices tonight were a "Pink Hemingway" (strawberry infused white rum, lime, grapefruit, and maraschino liqueur) and a "Say Aloe To My Little Friend" (Santo Mezquila, pineapple purée, aloe liqueur, and egg white foam). Both of them were exactly what we wanted. One sweet and sultry, the other a combination of sweet, salt, and smoke, and we couldn't have been happier. Having been to Lilo's a few times in the past, I wanted some food from their menu. It was nice that Library let's you order from Lilo's food menu. My friends and I ordered burgers, fries, vegan ramen bowl and drinks. The impossible billy goat burger was amazing. Being very accommodating, they let us order nonalcoholic drinks since we don't drink alcohol. The blackberry mojitos were excellent. They do have different drink specials each day. The bartender was excellent in giving us time, brought extra plates, etc. Great customer service throughout our visit. I know being a bar and us not drinking is a weird place to pick to hang out. But we decided on this place because we were meeting up for our monthly book club discussion . And having a place with decor of books and name of library suited our aesthetics sense of theme. Earlier this year, I noticed a sign for the library on K Street, right behind Lilo's. I had heard through a mutual acquaintance that this speakeasy bar had opened around the corner from Revelry, offering classic cocktails and the like. Being an enthusiast of speakeasies, I decided to make my way to the Library, which wasn't hard to find. If you're in Lilo's, it's in the back. Depending on the night, there may be a password. There may be a mask. There may be someone asking you to perform the buffalo stance... because we all know we have time to dance. But I digress. The Library is a cool cocktail getaway for locals of LDub, looking for a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the center of town (Dave's, Brogue's, Igot's, Lilo's). The set up is quite cool with its dark flourishes, nice spirit selection, and a knack for making classics like old fashioneds, which for me are quite magical. I believe the ones I had recently at Library were made with Elijah Craig bourbon, which was quite good I must say. In addition to bar counter seating, there's a lounge area with sofas and comfy chairs. It's a groovy spot, to say the least, and great for any day of the week they are open -- and you've had a taco or too down the hall at Lilo's and want something strong to finish washing down. read more

If you want to go out and drink but don't want to be around a lot of people, I think this bar is for you. But watch out, it's one of the most expensive bars in Lake Worth. Location: It is located in Lake Worth, the truth is I am not very fond of this area but the bar is in a safe place and surrounded by other restaurants and bars. Parking: On the street. Service: Extremely BAD! The bar does not have waiters, which is understandable because it is quite small, it is ordered directly at the bar. When we arrived there were a maximum of 7 people in the bar and my boyfriend waited more than 15 minutes to get the drinks. Drinks quality: This part is interesting because the truth is I don't know how to describe the flavor of my cocktail. I got a "Raspberry Spritz" (Tito's handmade vodka, raspberry, and prosecco) it tasted like everything except raspberry, very strong, and I only got one cocktail and when I got home I felt drunk! The same with my boyfriend, he got "Forbidden Apple Smash" (Bourbon, apple, and ginger beer) he never tastes the apple, and it is a bit sweet. Price: Expensive!!! I had never paid $ 15 for a drink, not even in good bars. In total, we spend on 2 drinks $35. Atmosphere: The bar is divided into two areas, one where you can sit and talk and the other where you can enjoy live music. Recommendation: The bar has all the potential to be successful but needs to take care some details such as the decoration when entering the bar on the right-hand side they have a broken mirror, I don't know if the owners are aware of the bad luck that this brings apart from being dangerous for the customers. Second, the tables were not clean and this is a super important detail. Third, the service is really bad, the bartender was not friendly plus she was slow.
