My husband and I went there today and were told it was a 20 min wait... ok fine 2 people ahead of us,after five groups of people are seated I got up and asked what was the ETA , the hostess became rude and says well they used the "Ap" and you've only been here for 17 min and I told you 20 so they got in before you and you have 11 more minutes. Uh what Ap ? Suggestion download the Ap to the place if you would like to eat here so you have less of a wait time to be seated. Heading home from a meeting and I wanted to catch the NBA finals, so I stopped at Third Base. Sat at the bar, the staff was very nice and I had a drink pretty quickly; the beer was nice and cold. There are a lot of TV's in there to watch the games on. I ordered some food (pulled pork sliders) and it was not that good. The meat was dry, and the bread was a little hard. I ended up eating one and not the rest. It's a good place to watch the game and grab a beer, but I would stay away from the food. read more

i was up for a burger one friday night and thought I would give these guys a try. I sat at the bar and was ignored by the bar babes until I have to flag one down to take my order. The bacon cheese burger was more than edible, but nothing I'll ever come back for. They fries were OK, some were stale. Maybe passable for bar food, but much better burgers in the area. Great place if you're looking for something to watch on the big screens and don't really care what your food tastes like. read more

Excellent service but VERY poor management. I want to clarify my low rating of 1 star. Had it not been for one particular manager, I would give the establishment a solid 4 or 5. I love Third Base on the whole and usually sit at the bar when I'm there. The setting is very causal, and the bartenders are always entertaining and engaging. Especially the feisty female bartenders. The food is actually pretty good, although I think they recently got a new cook and the new salsa recipe could use a little more work. Management however, is another story. Not all managers; just one in particular who thinks it's perfectly acceptable to embarrass and disrespect his staffers in front of customers for who knows whatever reason. This manager's name is Bill. The first time I saw this happen was several months back. I didn't give it much thought other than the fact that I thought it was a little rude and disrespectful to the employee. But I figured everyone is entitled to a bad day and maybe this was his. Apparently Bill has a lot of bad days as I've been there on several occasions and witnessed him getting onto his staff right in front of customers, almost as if he intends to do that on purpose as some sort of power thing. I was at the bar again this evening and watched him yell at 2 of the female bartenders, for ridiculous reasons and right in front of customers. It left me feeling sick to my stomach. BTW, now that I think about it I've only noticed him do this to female staffers. I'm not sure what kind of management training Bill has had, if any, but as a customer I find it extremely unprofessional and inappropriate to yell at, or arrogantly reprimand at your staff in front of customers. Honestly, I'm debating on whether or not I should even return. Which is sad because like I said, the staff is always fun and I do enjoy the atmosphere. Someone higher up really needs to sit down with Bill and introduce him to People Skills 101. If an employee screws up, fine, talk to them when it's appropriate. And talk to them in a professional way. But whatever you do, do NOT do it in front of customers. Because now you've made everyone in witness feel extremely awkward. And I can't imagine that that style of management boosts employee morale. I know I'm not the only one who's seen this happen, or feels this way. I was just so disgusted tonight that felt compelled to tell people about it in the hopes that others will comment on similar experiences and management will finally realize that this is a serious enough problem to address. read more

Visiting from out of town for my buddy's birthday. Had a latina bartender and told her what was up. They had a thirsty Thursday special for vodka so we got a couple vodka crans. First drinks were solid, I watched her pour, and she poured them really well. We decided to stick with her and thought she would take care of us for the rest of the night. Big mistake. She started flirting with her coworker and when we ordered Jack and cokes, which were twice as expensive, that same coworker came up behind her, did some grab ass bs, and she ended up under-pouring our drinks. I bartend, I know my counts. Probably won't be back, but if I do I'll try another bartender. Two stars for a good first drink. read more

My first 1 star review. 1 is a very lonely number, and if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. A Coworker and I decided to grab lunch here being close to our office and the bonus of being the first day of the world cup. I've never walked out of a sports bar more frustrated and angry than my experience with Third Base. We first walk in, plenty of screens and cool layout, we are hopeful. We sit in a section playing the most world cup coverage, sit at a table and wait. and wait. We waited at least 5 minutes for us to get anyones attention. We were finally greeted by a waitress that describes how she needs to close this section down, my coworker responds "do you want us to move tables?" No apologies for making us relocate from the table we wanted to sit, no request for us to move, just a statement that she's closing the section down. We go around the corner and sit, and wait, and wait..... finally 5 more minutes after a server finally greets us. We order our drinks, I also ask for a water, and to be precise we were sitting directly in front of a soft drink fountain. She proceeds to take the order of the table next to us, put those orders in, then finally comes back with our drinks. Not a problem for a person that moves at normal speeds, this girl moved around like she was walking through sludge in the gulf of mexico after the oil spill. We finally order our food, wait, and wait some more, by this point its been 40 minutes since we left our office when our waitress comes out with plates and tries to serve the table next to us. I asked my coworker "did they not order their food after ours?" when the table has to clarify that their order came out incorrect. Then she proceeds to bring the food to our table and state " this must be yalls food" and places my food in front of my coworker... It's understandable for that to happen at a larger table, but between two orders I'd expect you to get that right. I ordered a philly cheesesteak with fries, co worker ordered a chicken club sandwhich with CHIPS, I was expecting a philly with onions, peppers, etc. Meat and melted cheese, thats it, and american cheese? seriously? My co workers sandwhich was suppose to have avacado, bacon and chipotle sauce, his sandwhich composed of chicken, lettuce, tomato, and no sauce, and his plate came with fries instead of chips. He questions the waitress about his order, she states that the kitchen has been messing up alot that afternoon... I've waited tables myself in the past, and one of the first things taught was to never blame the kitchen, even if it is the kitchen's fault. Maybe this girl just never listened during training, or maybe she never was trained. My coworker proactively requested to get the check ahead of time b/c we know she's busy and at this point we just want to get out of this place. We wait, and wait, we are done with our food and she finally comes around, with the check, one check for both our tabs. SERIOUSLY? you see a caucasian male and a asian male, obviously here for a work lunch, and why would we be on the same tab when have different orders? So we decide to split the tab in half with our credit cards to make the process a little faster.... we wait, and wait, and wait. She gave us a dell discount (whoopty doo..... ....), when really my coworkers meal should have been comped. We had high hopes for this place, now we know never to return. More appropriate name for this place: Third Tier. rude, sluggishly slow staff, nasty overpriced food and the TV we were relocated in front of was not working properly. wow! WOW! I am a fan of Third Base on 6th street when it is not crowded. I mean, it's okay for a sports bar. Okay food, lots of TVs. It does the trick. So, since I was up in Round Rock I thought I would give that Third Base a shot. I mean really, how bad could it be. I was not blown away by the 6th street location so I was not expecting to be blown away by the Round Rock location. Well...it was TERRIBLE! I walked in, walked through the bar and walked out pissed off. Picture fat suburbanite women giving you dirty looks and old perverted men that probably just left Joy (the strip club around the corner). This place was awesome. We wanted to watch the Utah game, which isn't all that popular in Pflugerville, TX, (shocker) so my husband called about a week in advance and was promised that they would set a TV to the game requested. We have been suckered in to places with fancy promises before, only to be disappointed, so we called ahead again on the day of the game AND showed up an hour early (thank heavens there is a Target in the same parking lot because we needed to kill about an hour). They let us choose any TV in the joint! Super nice customer service. We made ourselves comfortable since we were planning on staying for the entire 7 hours (or however long football games are these days) and we knew we would need plenty of snacks to make it through the long haul. They had AMAZING nachos piled high with all sorts of cheesy, spicy, gooey goodness. We also tried the mini-burgers which we fought over, they were so delicious. read more

3.5 for the food and .5 additional for the service. So I normally don't like to go to places with 3 stars on Yelp but was convinced by a friend as they have a $20 ribeye that he said was good value. I figure it's Superbowl Sunday so I oblige. I can say that the ribeye was cooked right, tasted good and the sides were good as well. Another Sport Bar in Round Rock. This one is interesting just for the name alone.. Before we left work I heard the following statements from my co-workers.. "I haven't been to 3rd base before, do you know how to get there".. 'Have you been to 3rd base before".. "I wonder what 3rd base is like".. We had HR violations before we left. .As far as the bar it is cool. Lots of High-Def TV's to watch sports. The waitresses are nice and friendly and dress less sexy than Twin Peaks so you can go there and not feel like a pervert. read more

The best place in town for any sports but also a great place to go with your friends and family. They have a new menu that is terrific. I enjoy trying a new item every time I go though I am tempted to stay with my favorites. The quality and style of the food is much more upscale than you would find in a bar. On a positive note, you will be able to see at least three TVs from any seat if you are going there to watch sports. Our server was real young. Did not know any prices. We asked for tequila shots. She suggested the most expensive shots, patron. We said that's too expensive. Then she said they were 5.50. Which we doubted and asked for something cheaper instead. She suggested don Julio, in which she up sold to silver with out asking us which came out to 8.50 a shot which was more expensive than the supposed 5.50 patron shots. When talking to manager he was very rude and sarcastic. Telling me how patron is made and that it wasn't for 5.50. He was condescending and barely added a discount of 4$ after trying to cut me off and disrespect me. It also smells like vomit outside and attracts a lot of flys. I've been to Third base a handful of times since it is close to my job. Food has been great, and beer always ice cold which is nice. I always sit at the bar since I'm by myself and prefer the bar since typically you get quicker service. The majority times I have gone I've had very slow service. The bartenders would either be too busy taking inventory of bottles to realize I was sitting down, or too busy chatting with friends or coworkers. I hate writing a bad review but thought it should be noted. I've been told my co-workers that you get better service on the patio than at the bar. How is that possible? Would be a 5 star rating if service was better. I'm a busy person and don't want to have to sit around all day waiting to order a drink or food. Also I think there should be more local Texas beer options. I saw a ton of domestic beers that are just run of the mill. read more

Service here is top notch. I visit from out of town every year and they always make me feel as though I'm a local. But enough about me. Let me tell you about the green chile Mac and cheese. I lived in Milwaukee for several years and was under the impression that Comet Cafe had the best Mac and cheese in the world. I was wrong. This is the perfect amount of heat to flavor. I have been going to Third Base since they have opened. It's the "Cheers" of bars for those that live near by. The food is excellent, the staff is awesome. This Third Base location is close to my heart because it's where I went out with my fiancé for the first time....awwww. Ok enough mushy crap, this place is pretty awesome. They have a million TV's and during football season they are playing almost all of the games on the big screens. The hostesses and waiters even have papers with all the TV's and games they will be showing so you can plop your butt down and get ready for football in your face. They have a lot of draft beer which happens to be my favorite and even more in bottles if that's your fancy. Their food is mediocre but it's a bar so I am never surprised by that. This is by far my favorite third base location strictly due to the layout and the TV's. They just seem to be in better locations. read more

I've been here to watch sporting events and it's a good place. The big beers are great and there is plenty tvs to watch so you don't have to worry about missing the game you want to watch. I'm a Saints fan (womp womp haters gonna hate) and there was another game majority wanted to watch but no big deal I got to watch my game and they got to watch there's.
