Ah, Thinking Cup. My absolute favorite Boston coffee shop since 2013 when I first discovered this on Foursquare. Remember Foursquare? No, because we're on Yelp now ;) Their hazelnut latte is the absolute BEST. All their syrups are house made and it's special because you can absolutely tell. With the hazelnut syrup, there are little pieces of ground hazelnuts and its magic. This time, I tried my first ever iced latte and it was still incredible! No latte has ever measured up. Really lovely neighborhood, and a busy little coffee spot with large selection of croissants, scones, and other stuff. My friend got a Macchiato and liked it. I got the Mediterranean Mint tisane , this comes in a big cup and is VERY hot . The flavor is delicious once it cools down. I actually walked back to my hotel with it. Great bright mint flavor. It took me a while to get into Thinking Cup as there are so many coffee shops in the Boston area. Thinking Cup has become my recent favorite- love the ambiance and coziness, staff is already super friendly and helpful, and I love that they use Stumptown Coffee beans. Their food is great as well- very fresh, many healthy options, and of course their pastries are delicious as well. I love this cafe! I have had great experiences at every location I have visited. I usually get a latte (the Honey Cinnamon one is delicious!) and a grilled cheese. What a cute spot! Stopped by on my way to the marathon expo to grab a coffee and pastry to go. I ordered their honey cinnamon latte and an almond croissant. The latte was AWESOME! Super flavorful and foamy. I loved that it wasn't too sweet. I prefer my coffee to be a bit on the bitter side. The almond croissant was not as good. It was pretty dry and didn't have a ton of flavor. I don't think I would order that again, but some of their other croissants and pastries looked really good so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The inside is cute and cozy. Not very big though, and it was very crowded (no surprise given that it was Boston marathon weekend). I had the pleasure of stopping by here while in boston earlier today, I had gotten a butter croissant as well as a Madeline cookie, and my friend got the chocolate hazelnut croissant. The total for our order only came to 11 dollars! I was shocked at how cheap it was in comparison to a lot of other cafes I have visited! The madeleine was super soft, and surprisingly sweet! The croissants were both airy and flakey-- just absolutely cooked to perfection! And don't even get me started on how adorable it is in there! It was way fancier inside than we had anticipated, but all-round absolutely gorgeous decorations! They have 2 sitting rooms inside, as well as one outdoors! We chose to sit in the second room inside, it was a bit noisy, but that was to be expected when you are sitting inside of a busy cafe. BUT, don't be fooled- even though they are busy, there is hardly any wait at all to place your order, or to receive it! We let 3 or 4 groups pass us in line while we were gazing at all the pastry's, yet there was still no wait when we were ready to order. A-OK is accurate. I wandered in here on my way out of town, bags in hand, looking for a decent hot cup of something caffeinated before my flight home to Seattle. I grabbed a chai and a gluten free pumpkin donut to stay as seasonally appropriate as possible. There weren't any patrons in front of my in line. I felt extremely rushed by the person at the register to read their menu. They were curt and signed and rolled their eyes when I asked questions. Wouldn't be back due to the crappy service. This place is super close to my office and perfect for a quick and easy breakfast or lunch!! Right on Newbury, close to Georgetown cupcakes, they have the best sandwiches and pastries. I had breakfast at Thinking Cup on a Friday morning after touring around North End; it took a while to find a proper coffee shop but it was well worth the wait. They serve Stumptown coffee which I'm a huge fan of, so my latte was excellent as expected. They have a nice selection of pastries and desserts so, being vacation, I made breakfast out of a slice of orange cake that was so delicious. My wife equally enjoyed her decaf and scone. The shop is a good size with seating in front and back; if you're a tourist there are a few great seats in front to watch the locals go about their day. The staff was very friendly, so I don't think there's anything left to say but check this place out! read more

One star off because the bathrooms always get a lot of use in a place that serves coffee and these needed some attention from the staff and were in a bit of disrepair but bathrooms aren't easy to find on Newbury so its a big plus that they have them. Conveniently located on Newbury, this is a great coffee shop and even better bakery! It's popular so finding a seat can be a challenge, but if you're lucky it's a great place to sit and get work done. There are a variety of bakery items and breakfast/lunch items available. We stopped here after walking around Boston common and got their hot chocolate, triple chocolate brownie, and a couple macarons. Everything was delicious. We were in Boston for the long weekend. Been wanting to come here since we read awesome reviews online and Thinking Cup did not disappoint. It's like a 5-8 minute walk from our hotel which is perfect. The coffee here was so good that my hubby had 2. We shared their turkey sandwich which was amazing and quite filling. We also tried their croissant which was buttery and flakey and also their Zucchini bread which was moist with the perfect amount of sweetness. A fantastic breakfast stop! It was pretty crowded with people coming and going constantly. I was lucky to be able to find a table for 2. Wait times can be a bit long, but so worth it. The place is very welcoming with nice interior. There is a nice selection of pastries and morning pastries on display. I ordered a decaf oat milk latte, a bagel and yogurt parfait. The coffee was by far one of the best I have tried in Boston. The flavor was rich and tasty, and the mixture with oat milk was perfect. The bagel was OK and nothing special about it. I ordered the medium hazelnut latte, pumpkin cheesecake, and Jittery Hen. The Jittery Hen was alright, but did not taste that impressive so I would not order it again. I tried my friend's sandwich, the Barcelona Bliss, and found that much more appealing and flavorful. It paired really great with her clam chowder as well. The hazelnut latte was decent in portion-size and beautiful in presentation, but I did not taste much of the hazelnut flavor, so I was disappointed. I prefer my coffee sweeter so this latte simply felt alright to me. The pumpkin cheesecake was amazing! It had a slight pumpkin taste to it and tasted light with the perfect amount of sweetness. I honestly wish I had more stomach room to try their other pastries as they all looked gorgeous through the glass displays. Service was pretty fast and they had a decent amount of seating considering how busy they get. I was just a little overwhelmed by the efficiency this morning. Sure, I want a coffee but there wasn't enough time to really look at the menu before I was suddenly at the register and it was time for my order. I ended up with the ham and butter sandwich which was the first thing I saw on the menu and easy enough to order. A decent portion as well. Coffees are prepared to order and there was only the one barista which meant that the sandwich was ready almost immediately and the coffee took nearly more than a couple of minutes.
