Not a bad place for a meal but it's not serving up anything that makes me want to run back and visit regularly. I've been four times now and have had something different each time. On my latest visit, I noticed that the menu had changed quite a bit, but a couple of the things I'd had previously were still there. I ventured out and got the special for this particular evening, red snapper that was blackened and served atop a mixture of spinach, rice, corn and pineapple. I don't care for blackened food and, when I mentioned this, the waiter eagerly offered to sautee my fish instead, which was a plus. I took the moist, delicious carrot cake home with me and have no complaints there. I only wish they were able to serve wine, but you are able to bring your own and they will provide you with both an opener and glasses. read more

The only reason I didn't give The Wild Olive a 5-star rating is because their food is sometimes hit or miss. I've been there a handful of times and usually their pasta is to die for but on a couple of occasions we have been there the food was very salty. We also had a large party there for dinner and the food quality was less than usual. Perhaps it was because they were trying to get all of our food out together, it was dry and the temperature was fair. read more

I have been here several times and had nice 3-4 star meals and service. Dinner most recently was very disappointing. I had the red snapper special. The fish was covered in fish skin and the portion was so small that I felt I needed to order another selection. The sides were two bites of wilted spinach and less than 3 bites of white rice. So disappointing from a place that usually has good food and reasonably sized portions. The server also slopped sauce on herself while balancing two entree dishes in her arm and served the plate with sauce all over the plate rim. When it was time for dessert she threw a menu on the table and returned several minutes later and seemed put out to be asked what the special selections of the day were. Less than adequate service and a tiny sloppily presented entree. Doubt that I bother going to Wild Olive on my next visit. read more

My family and I have been there on several occasions both for lunch and dinner. I wish they had a slightly bigger lunch menu since we thought the dinner prices where a bit to high for crestview. The staff is always amazingly accomidating and it has always been clean when we went. The food is usually ok however the last time we went for lunch my sons burger was WAY over seasoned hence he didn't eat it but he is a big fan of the fries and bread but I don't go to a restaurant to eat fries. read more

The wild olive is a wonderful place to eat, especially if you're looking for something fresh and delicious. I didn't expect to find a place like this is crestview, it's completely different than anything else available here. There's even a beautiful herb garden right in front of the restaurant that fills the air with delightful smells. The owner greeted us as soon as we entered and had our table ready for our part very quickly. The waiter was very attentive and took care of everything and made great recommendations. I had the chicken Tuscana and it was delicious. My husband had the burger and let me taste and it was amazing. Everyone complaining about the prices needs to remember that you pay for what you get and I'd rather spend extra to get fresh good food. read more

So we are those customers who show up 15 minutes before the lunch kitchen close but you would never have known by the terrific waitressing and yummy food. I got the Gouda, turkey brioche...loved it! My friends got the BLT with a cup of the potato soup, both raved about them. The young lady was prompt with food and tea refills. This is Crestview, after all, and the pickings are slim. However, the Wild Olive has good food and hospitality. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. We had the deviled eggs for starters--delicious! Highly recommend! The fish chowder that my husband had with his meal ("soup of the moment") was more of a bisque than what I normally call a chowder, but so good. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the grouper and grits special. Both were very good. My husband loved the butter sauce that topped his grits. When you are out having a nice dinner its nice to have a glass of wine too though I don't usually enbibe. When I would dine there a few years back they ignored me when I asked if they had a corking service as if that was a sin to even ask. This place only seems so great because its the only nice restaurant around for at least 65 miles and they have a lot of clout in they main church in the area which counts for a lot in the small town panhandle. The owner was actually nosy enough to ask me once who it was i had lunch with after i was leaving. Their business is to feed people not start a gossip column about their guests. The best dinning experience I have had in this area! By far. Charming and quaint. I felt like I was invited to dinner at a friend's house - for a well thought out dinner with my every need in mind. Fresh ingredients, full of flavor, and proper execution! I could taste the fresh herbs. Please try the chowder; and the bread. They are both amazing; full of flavor. Even more amazing when the bread is dipped in the chowder. Calamari was light and crispy. My husband had the filet and was very impressed. I opted for a pasta dish as did my dad and we were both very happy. Yes, it is a bit of A drive for many of us. However, it is worth the trip to Crestview. You must try this restaurant! Holy Sh*t!!! This place is unbelievably incredible. We were visiting family in town & slipped away for a quiet lunch. I had the fried chicken sandwich that was on special. The chicken was juicy, the slaw was crunchy with the right amount of tang. The Gouda Cheese Grits were so creamy n the Gouda flavor permeated every bite! My wife had the fancy chicken sandwich with the homemade fries. The chicken in her's was awesome as well, but surprisingly not the same as in mine. To make two different fried chickens for a lunch menu is quite unusual. The honey mustered on her sandwich was great, not overly sweet like most. Service was great. Server had half the Resturant & still stopped by 3-4 times in the 40min we were there to check on us. The water glasses got topped off promptly. read more

My husband and I visited this place two separate times. Once for dinner and once for Breakfast. The service is superb, the people are nice and friendly, the ambiance is great!! There is outdoor seating and it is so cute! Their cakes are so great. One great piece of information to know is they cannot sell liquor due to the proximity of the church. They are BYOB for wine and do not charge a corking fee. I highly recommend this place for any meal especially a romantic one. read more

Came here to eat with the fiancé the food was great we had the fried green tomatoes as our appetizers and the jambalaya as my main dish both were very delicious. This place couldnt be bad if it tried. Lemme explain. So i walk in and it's super busy, wait a few and seated. My waitress comes over takes drink order and food order. Can i have a side salad? She delivers the salad but forgets the flatware. Im looking for her but she has a busy party shes attending to. So out of the side of my eye another customer(thank you sweet lady) flagged her waitress down and told her i didnt have any. the waitress came over and brought me what i needed. they then delivered warm bread. followed by my mahi sandwich which i thought by the size of it was a little small. trust me when i tell you looks are deceiving, the sandwich was excellent and a perfect portion. Even though my waitress came by a couple of times, other waitresses were more than attentive. The food alone is worth the visit, but the service is impeccable and a cherry on top. read more

Great restaurant, quick seating, helpful waiters, great food. Have been there for both lunch and dinner. This past Saturday, drove the 60 miles to eat again at The Wild Olive. Had their Ribeye steak, cooked to perfection. Service excellent, side dishes were mashed red potatoes and grilled broccoli. No room for desert, but had to get carry-out of red velvet cheesecake. Dare you to look at their desert cooler at front door and resist. Next visit got to try their fish of the day and either bread pudding or carrot cake for desert. You will not go wrong with any item on their menu. Sure beats the heck out of "chain-restaurant" food. read more

Their food is good, not too much I can complain about there. It's not on the level of Cuvee in Destin, but its good especially considering it's in Crestview. What is great is the desert. Make sure to save room! The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is because their prices are inflated for the quality of food served. read more

The Wild Olive is a wonderful find. It has such a great atmosphere both inside and outside. My husband and I went right when they opened and everyone there was so friendly. We had the calamari for an appetizer which was delicious. They then brought out the soup and salad prior to our meal which was equally as good. The entrée was phenomenal. Both of our meals were delish. I think that anything we would have ordered would be amazing. And now for the desert... We had carrot cake... And let me tell you that it was the best carrot cake I've ever had. I would go there just to have the carrot cake. From the first bite of our dining experience to the last it was a great meal. Amazing food and amazing service! My husband and I went there tonight for dinner for the first time and we very impressed. Not being a native here I didn't realize that a place like this could exist in crestview. I had the burger and my husband had the Alfredo, both were fantastic, along with their desserts.
