Came here for a banquet style dinner. The service was good the waitstaff was very attentive my wine glass was always full. I had the fish in the bag and I highly recommend it. It was very light but moist and flavorful. The desserts were ok not bad nothing amazing fairy standard items. We had a reservation for 4 on a Monday night and were getting together with my brother and wife who live in Aspen. They wanted to join us for dinner because they hadn't been to The Wild Fig in a while. We arrived for our 7:45 reservation and were seated immediately at our table in the patio. Bustling and lots of energy when we sat down. It took a few minutes for our server to arrive and take our drink orders and then we never saw him again. We were forgotten. In Aspen. How does that happen?! The full dinner order was placed all at the same time because that's how they do things here so we happily placed our apps and entrees and waited for the food to arrive. The couple next to us were seated after us and their apps arrived, then their entrees and we hadn't seen a thing beyond our drinks. Finally the apps arrived 30-40 min after they were ordered. It's now 8:45-9pm a full hour after we arrived to the restaurant. Sometime shortly After 9 another gentlemen arrives to confirm what our order was for dinner. It wasn't difficult. We ordered everything at the same time as requested by the serving staff. So we repeated our orders, 2 risotto specials and a filet and the whole fish special. All high end entrees. Guess what?? 9:30pm rolls around and still nothing. The patio has now cleared out and only 2 tables remain. I'm finally sick of waiting and completely frustrated so I head in to speak with the GM and she's very apologetic and rushes into the kitchen to find out what's happening. She assures me the food will be out immediately and our table is being served next. So as we anticipate the server heading out with an armload of food must be coming to our table he make a b-line for the only other remaining table on the patio and at that very moment we were DONE. I headed back into the restaurant to tell GM we were done and leaving. We would have just walked out but I wanted her to know how disappointed we were with the service and staff there. A very disappointing experience for what is supposed to be a high end dining experience in downtown Aspen. Don't do it folks. I will scream to the mountain top to avoid this place. We were about to spend 600-800 for dinner at least and were treated with such disregard I don't want anyone to deal with that especially for an occasion like visiting family and celebrating a milestone. Never again. I understand they are also part of a prominent restaurant group in town including The Monarch and a number of other restaurants. Not sure I would visit any of them after this experience. My brother who lives in Aspen has already begun to reach out to all his local friends about this awful experience. He couldn't believe how bad it was. Neither could we. Ended up at Hotel Jerome for dinner and drinks to end the night and salvage our experience. Stay away from The Wild Fig. read more

We had a wonderful meal at The Wild Fig. We had the Greek salad to start then my wife had the Lobster Ravioli and I had the Risoto with Halibut. Both were fantastic. We finished it off with the Chocolate Ganache which was spectacular. I would have given the restaurant a 4.5 if I could due to the service (good, not 5-star). And it's Aspen so you will pay top dollar for it but the meal was worth it. read more

If you want the ambiance of 1970s East Germany, this is the place for you. The head bartender (on duty 2/21/25 at 7 pm) thinks it his duty to police private conversations between a husband and wife. Political opinions are verboten! If that is restaurant policy, it should be advertised as such. After all, this is the United States, where most people assume that they can freely express themselves in private conversation in a public place. In short, the service was horrible. The food mediocre. I will never set foot in the place again. Message to management: If it is your policy to constrain the civilized speech of your patrons, post that policy for all to see. Dined here a few days ago and we were a group of five. I got lucky (or so I thought) when someone cancelled and we could make a reservation here for the same day. Everything here is pretty alright - the bread, drinks, foods and overall dining experience. The house made pasta was more al dante than soft like the usual house made pasta I've had before on numerous occasions. The lobster risotto was good- I dint enjoy it as much but my husband and mom sure did. The tiramisu was soo underwhelming, the creamy part of the tiramisu was runny - I make a better tiramisu at home! Also, the lamb rack we ordered - our server did not ask how rare or well done we want it - the lamb was extra rare! Do not appreciate. Overall, our dining experience was underwhelming and expensive. Living up to the Aspen dining experience! Superb dishes and service. This has been my favorite dining experience in Aspen and comparable to many great dining experiences that I've had in Europe and many big U.S. cities. All the dishes were amazing, but I must highlight the Nightly Risotto which was accompanied with lobster and deep sea scallops. The scallops tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly. Service- besides our main server, Hunter, who was fantastic, there was always someone coming to check-in on us and making sure our glasses were filled. The staff are professional and friendly which adds to the overall dining experience. One of my favorite finds on the menu was the Kopke port! This is the oldest port house! This is the first time I've seen this on the menu so it definitely was exciting to see. I was lucky to try the Kopke reserves in Porto, Portugal a couple of years ago and really enjoyed this port. If I lived in Aspen, I would make this my go to place! read more

Well, the food was very good. The ambience was not. Upon walking in during winter season, you are greeted by a coat check and it is not optional... It was a super offputting experience because I didn't want to give the code check person my coat. I wasn't carrying a bag and everything was in the pockets and I just wanted to have it with me and she basically told me I wasn't allowed inside unless I checked my coat. In this process she also was sort of like do you have a reservation basically not letting me continue to walk into the restaurant unless I had one. (Which I did). So it was just a very rude and awkward encounter. I get that place is small and that it makes sense for them to check coats but I don't think that you should be forcing us to check your coat and it was such an off putting experience that it really made that dinner less desirable. Also, the coat literally fits on the chair. There's no reason that they need to take it. Not to mention that I ordered a drink that had clarified juice in it, but they didn't have that which I would've preferred to know because that was actually the reason that I ordered a drink and when they brought it to the table they just said oh sorry, we don't have one of the ingredients. The food and the atmosphere was amazing last night. We were served by Sam and Steve who were on point last night. We had the risotto of the night, which was leak and ruby red trout, and the whole fish of the day (grilled branzino). I appreciate the chef responsible for making risotto because it tasted great. The branzino had a nice crisp skin and the sauce beneath paired well. If one goes here try the fondue for the table as it can easily feed 4 as an appetizer. read more

This restaurant will capture your heart and taste buds. This scrumptious little hole in the wall comes alive at night. We managed to somehow get a perfect table for two on the patio for dinner without a reservation. I recommend calling in advance because this place is quite popular. The atmosphere is as fun as the Kemo Sabe hats on the heads of the guests who enter here. We tried their fish special with lobster risotto and the coconut curry mussels appetizer. Our meal was flavorful, colorful and delicious. I was quite literally licking my plate after savoring each bite. The mussels made me reminisce on flavors of Southeast Asia. The coconut curry broth is light, mild and delicious. The lobster risotto reminded me of home - the east coast of Boston, where I took fresh fish and lobster for granted. I, of course, asked for mayo on the side to dip my fries. TIP: Sick of ketchup? Dip your French fries in mayo. You will NOT be disappointed. So fattening but so yum. You only live once. We got "shamed" by a table of elderly patrons, whom we had initially asked to be moved away from, shamed us for "being loud" for having a fun girls night and celebrating a friend's birthday and the manager took their side as their were "friends of the owner". After moving and doing a fun cheers for a glass of wine, we got approached by the manager and told to be quiet due to the complaints from the table we just moved away from. The management was inconsiderate of us being paying guests vs "friends of owners" and didn't account for the birthday girl being hard of hearing and that our group was conversing so that she could understand us. We got the grilled octopus, pil pil shrimp, pappardelle, lobster ravioli and the seafood stew. The grilled octopus was my least favorite, it was chewy. The lobster ravioli was my favorite although its portion is more of an appetizer rather than a main dish. You get five ravioli with a piece of lobster. The seafood stew was filling and great for the cold weather. Pappardelle was great as well. There was no one dish that made the "wow" list hence the 4 stars rather than 5. Delicious dinner!! Went out with my husband and a friend and the food did not disappoint. I will say - the restaurant is small and they really cram you in there but there was a lively ambiance all around. We started with the kale and halloumi salad which was just fine. I don't love kale so that was probably my fault but the halloumi was crisp and salty which was very tasty. We split the french onion soup - one of the best i've had! And i always get french onion soup. It was extra cheesy and the bread was soft and broth was flavorful. We then split the cacio e pepe which was also super good! it was a little watery at first but when it was all mixed together it tasted great! we wanted to go a second time while we were in town but they were booked and i don't think they offer takeout. definitely a place to go for dinner if you're in town! read more

This is a very small venue, and they have optimized their space by cleverly fitting a maximum number of tables into an attractive, intimate setting. The roast chicken dish that we split was quite good and served in a bowl with mixed veggies and the gravy from the roasting. It was good enough that I asked for a spoon to take full advantage of it. The main contribution I can make to the reader, however, is to advise asking for a table that is not in the main path of kitchen traffic, because during the meal my wife and the gentleman at the next table were jostled by passing traffic enough times that they each remarked independently about it, and a waiter offered an apology. read more

Amazing food and even better staff. I forget the name of the bartender who took care of us (she was from the area and had been there awhile) but she made us feel like rockstars while also making sure everyone else also had what they needed. The Wild Fig is a great solid restaurant in Aspen. The decor is simple and cozy. I wish we could have eaten outside but the weather was not cooperating. The worst combination of food and service I have experienced in well over a decade. We were held up to a minimum of 200 pp for our party of 12. The food was poorly prepared-overcooked meat and a scallop dish that was served with cod instead of scallops. The management did not budge on a minimum food requirement that was artificially jacked up because of our size. No other party has a minimum charge. Food ordered did not come and drinks and food were served very disjointedly. Allergies were dealt with in a completely blasé and unconcerned fashion. Terrible experience from soup to nots. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. People vaping pot in the restaurant throughout the night. Forced to have at least 200 dollars per person and had to order multiple orders of take out to hit the number. We ordered the mussels in coconut curry sauce. My friend really liked it a lot. I'm not the biggest fan of coconut curry but yeah it was pretty tasty! The meat was the right texture. We booked a reservation based on menus posted on Yelp. We didn't realize that prices have increased $10-15 per plate. By the time we realized this, we could not cancel because the cancellation fee was $150 per person, so we figured we'd make the best of it. The sommelier visited our table but we really didn't want him there- although we said "no thank you", he still came to our table and he brought out his iPhone flashlight to show us 3 recommendations on the menu and the flashlight was starkingly disturbing... and it didn't really feel like he knew the menu at all. When we shows him our price range he still recommended bottles $30-40 more than what we were looking for. Our server was very kind and attentive, but we felt very rushed as he stood over our shoulder as we reviewed the menu. He prompted us to order early as the restaurant was about to fill up (which we completely understand and respect, however it was all very rushed). The food was nothing to write home about. We are ok spending that much money on dinner but we want the experience and the food to reflect that price point and we feel as though there are better places in Aspen to receive that type of experience. We decided to split a salad and an entre and we're charged $5 for a split fe for each item, which we were not notified of. It all in all felt like a waste of our money and a disappointment.
