Aosta was suggested by a local- what a great experience we had. The food was superb- we started with the burrata, a salad and the cacio y pepe ( made tableside) that was better than I had in Rome. The crudo was fresh and flavorful, the lamb chops rich and meaty and the Cornish game hen had a unique flavor profile with a hint of spice. The cocktails were delicious and with a nod to the season (summer). For dessert - Avon some lighter spins on old favorites - a lemon ricotta filled cannoli with a limoncello in the side and a passion fruit inspired tiramisu- garnished with wildflowers- made for a perfect ending. The interiors are that true west meets lodge meets chic - animal skins, leather, antler chandelier- but not pretentious.

Great restaurants bathrooms inside and street parking…read more Servers were very attentive and it gets busy so if you want a table i would consider making reservations. I came with my flight crew (just a couple of pilots in addition) and we just sat at the bar. I had the kale rotisserie chicken salad. The peanut dressing does have soy sauce so it is not gluten free, so they brought me a champagne vinaigrette instead. It was delicious. I got this during the cyclospora outbreak, because I'm a wild person now lol but they assured me they only get quality ingredients and super clean all veggies and fruit coming in. My pilots got the meatballs, creamed corn, and deviled eggs and they LOVED them.

The White House Tavern got some decent food with hefty Aspen price tag…read more We picked up the Smoked Trout Dip for starters, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich with the French Dip as our entrees. The Smoked Trout Dip was really tame. I wish something about this dish other than the price set it apart from just canned tuna salad with crackers. The French Dip was pretty good. I appreciate they put the horse radish on the side, because I usually enjoy slapping on more. I wish it came with fries, but given how theyre charging for fries, this dish would've been like a steak dinner if they added the fries. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was the best tasting dish of the night. Crunchy fried chicken with some tasty cole slaw. This dish really stood out to us. The food and taste were pretty good, but the steep price tags were just steep for no reason. Its a bit extra, even for Aspen. The ambiance was fine, very tavern feel. But I didn't care too much for our inattentive waiter. Would I recommend this place? Very hesitantly. The food was decent, but be ready to pay for that Aspen tax.

The salad was amazing but I don't recall the name. Our server was very nice and knew a ton about the wine list. What a quaint, delicious hotspot. Yum!

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.
