    Red sauce

What a gem. Loved this place- the food and the people were great. I had the elk scallopini and it was amazing. The sauce was very unique and delicious and the meat was perfecto. Red pasta sauce is some of the best I've ever had. We got extra to dip our bread in and devoured it. We even bought a couple of jars to go. We sat at the bar and the Bartender Michael was great guy. Gave us good advice for live music venue also. Cheers to this place!

Ordered takeout on a rec from my hotel staff. Was quoted 20 minutes on the phone, showed up in about 30, and had to wait 10 more on top of that, but seemed like they made it when I arrived so that was nice. No big deal. Place was quite busy on a Wednesday night. Chicken piccata comes with a side of penne pasta + red sauce and 3 slices of sourdough bread. Everything tasted top notch. Chicken was tender, saucy and lemon-y. Pasta was al dente with a delicious sauce. Even the bread was warm, fresh, and tasty. Makes for one big meal, or a decent sized dinner with a small lunch from the leftovers. Prices are a little steep, but worth it for me from the quality ingredients, and friendly staff. Located on the Main Street, parking can be hard to come by, but not impossible. Would definitely order/visit again! Good lively atmosphere inside but also a chill patio if the weather is nice.

    Chicken Marsala and elk cannelloni.

Consistently delicious year after year. We had the elk cannelloni and the chicken Marsala. Caesar salad for appetizer. Everything was SO good!!! Great service too.

A very delicious pasta with bell peppers and local Italian sausage.

Marchitelli's was pretty dang good! My mom and I sat at the bar and Tony was friendly and chatted with us quite a bit. I would recommend getting reservations, which we did, because it was pretty busy. Cute little place with kind of a house like atmosphere. A good date night spot I think! Really wished I was drinking because their wine selection looked amazing. Glad they had a good non-alcoholic beer for those that are taking time of the booze. ;) Food was good too! Wasn't like the most memorable thing ever but we were happy with our meals and everything was alright.

Currently my favorite place in CB. Good food, good atmosphere and good value! Love the elk cannelloni, but the lamb is a solid choice!

The Dogwood is a cocktail cabin that is located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. They keep the lights dimmed and have a fun music playlist that creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. The floor creaks as you walk through the cabin and they have cool chandeliers. We were initially told it would be a long wait, but somehow they found a table rather quickly for us. It was cold out, so we appreciated it. The Dogwood has a nice variety of artisanal cocktails on their menu. Our server was very helpful with giving us some options. I didn't have my readers on me and had a hard time reading the menu. So her describing some of the cocktails to me was very helpful. Dogwood has a number of classic drinks, margaritas and martinis. Some of the fun names that I saw were Thor's Hammer, D Cup, Porch Song, Mr. Pink and Beetnik. I ordered the Headhunter and enjoyed my drink. For food, Dogwood has charcuterie-style bites and other light snacks. This was a great find and a nice way to cap off our fun trip to Crested Butte.

The drinks are pricey, but you're really paying for the ambience and care that they put into making each drink. The menus has plenty of options, but you can also order your favorite with your choice of spirits. I opted for a whiskey sour with my beloved Suntory Toki and it was dang good! I initially ordered Suntory Hibiki (a more expensive version of Suntory's whiskey), but I loved that our waitress made sure I saw the price listed for that whiskey was "per ounce"... so my cocktail would have been $50! I very much appreciated that she pointed that out instead of just putting in my order and then me being surprised by the cost! Not a ton of food options, yet they do offer charcuterie plates with your choice of cheeses and meats. We don't go that route, but cocktails and charcuterie would be great for a date night! What really sets Garlic Mike's apart is their ability to handle a busy restaurant atmosphere while still delivering attentive, friendly, and professional service. For this restaurant, the find was almost like that. We (while enjoying our quick spa getaway in town coming from the greater Denver area) found this place after a disappointing experience with another similar restaurant nearby as it was closed for a private party that night. We were in a dire need of finding something alternative. As we were walking around town earlier that day, we did notice this place. After checking to make sure that it was truly open (not again, right?), we rushed there to fill our empty stomachs. The experience? It was quite good! Despite its unfortunate setting (downstairs in one of the buildings on the busy main street in town), what they can offer is worth the mention. Ambience?? Good! Fairly small restaurant but the layout is efficient where it can hold at least 50+ people when it's packed. The bar is the most ambient part of the restaurant where copper top was most fitting with chic looking lightings hanging from the ceilings. As long as the weather permits, seating in the patio is available. Three men collaborated to assist us for all of our needs during our fairly quick dinner. Time was barely 5pm. The night was still very young. Other diners eventually streamed in and it was at its 50% capacity by 5:50m. By the way, this experience was on a Thursday in mid-April of 2026. Here is what we got: -Justin Cabernet $15 per glass -Mediterra Super Tuscan $15 per glass (I had this one. Justin which my daughter had was better than mine in my opinion.) (The selection for wine by the glass is a bit small; they could easily add a few more to both the white and the red) -Starter bread (complimentary; later one of the men came to refill it by adding a few more slices. Excellent starter bread) -Mussels alla Crema (Cream based. They can make it with red sauce as well; $18) -Torretta de Malanzane (An eggplant burrata dish, $17) -Brassato (A gnocchi dish with braised short ribs, $30) All of the dishes were equal contenders where I simply couldn't pick one winning dish out of them. Each dish's meticulous presentation coupled with the overall seasonings, flavors and complex or perfected texture, their creative dishes are the core reason for their successful restaurant operations is what I gleaned while dining. We, unfortunately, skipped the dessert part as we saw an ice cream place several doors up the street from it earlier. We wanted to immerse ourselves in different dining experiences while our short stay in town so maybe next time we dine here again, we will indulge in their "decadent" dessert treats.
