Food? Delicious!... if I was able to finish it! I got the girasoli caprino - the pasta, sauce, and goat cheese was very tasty. But, from the moment we walked in, the vibes we off. It took us a while to be greeted and when we were finally sat, it fell like they did not want us there. Not sure if they could tell we were wearing polyester or if we should've worn our wide-brimmed Aspenite hats, but the attention to us was minuscule yet pushy to be done. The waitress kept trying to take our plates away with food still on it. We had to ask for bread several times, yet, an old woman in the corner got an entire bowl of Parmesan dumped on her food because she liked it that way (criminal imo). I would've loved to eat that sauce and noodles with that bread, but, alas my plate was taken too soon :,( Delicious nonetheless.

This place was one of the recommendations from our hotel. Nice ambiance, liked the mood lighting in the bar area, and there's plenty of seating in the restaurant. Most places serve complimentary bread, but this place does not. I would've been okay paying $4 for bread; however, the bread was hard and not very good. Pretty much all the complimentary bread I've had with other restaurants are better than this bread that we had to pay for. I would just skip the bread altogether. We ordered the pasta with fetuccine piselli, which was lemon pasta with snap peas and Parmesan and the risotto tre funghi. The pasta had good flavor, although it was dry and could've used more sauce. The salt and sweetness of the snap peas do complement each other well. The risotto also has good flavor, but the rice could've been cooked more so it wasn't so hard. Our server could've been more attentive. We had to wave him down quite a bit when we had questions or needed to order. Overall, this place was okay.

Enjoyed a really nice dinner with my family on the evening of our arrival to Aspen (12/26/24)! The restaurant was loud and lively and we loved the authentic atmosphere. Menu was very extensive and we all struggled to choose what to order. The service was great and the food came out relatively quickly. I ordered the Autumnale as a starter which had such delicious flavors with the marinated and roasted vegetables. Then I had the chicken for my main which was perfectly juicy. The Brussels sprouts were also a pleasant surprise! My fav veg! The rest of my family all ordered pasta. The overall consensus was that the dishes were GOOD but slightly lacking in flavour and sauce. My sister said the pesto was very watery and my brother thought the same about the vodka pasta. Overall, we did still have a very good time. My family also really enjoyed the desserts but I didn't try them.

The Bresaola Valtellina was awesome with a bit of the bread. Huge serving for an appetizer and I'm glad we split this. Could use a little Balsamic. The Penne Vodka was huge as well and again my husband and I split this dish. Not as good as we would of liked...it was more like Mac and cheese consistency instead of a creamy sauce. I wouldn't order it again

What an amazing experience! My mom and I are visiting my friend who lives in Aspen and she described this restaurant as the best espresso martini spot in town. Being that my mom is the only one out of us two that likes espresso martinis, she can vouch for that statement! Pricing isn't cheap but it isn't extremely expensive either. I would say that our group did not hold back and it was about $100 per person which included 2 cocktails, appetizer split 3 ways, an entree, and a dessert. We had a group of 3 and chose to sit in the bar. Both food and staff were absolutely amazing. First, for the staff - these guys were great! We never had an empty water cup, we hardly waited for food, and the conversations were awesome. Jumpy was so nice and attentive to our table. We asked about his travels and what brought him to Aspen. Great server! Our main server was also amazing but I, unfortunately, for his name. For the food.... The photos almost speak for themselves! AMAZING. We shared everything you see pictured to get the best experience possible. We started with the calamari appetizer. This plate was surprisingly large and had a lot of food! This is the perfect starter for a group of 3-5. We also had a bread basket that was phenomenal (not pictured). We then divulged into Our 3 pastas: linguine positano, penne caprese, and the pea dish (I can't remember the name). All dishes were amazing but my top two are the linguine positano and the penne caprese. If you want a dish that is light on the marinara sauce, but still had that tomato base, then I would highly recommend the penne! The tomato mixed with the garlic and basil was to die for. Lastly, the linguine positano was also delicious but had a lighter, white wine, base to the dish. It also had garlic, tomato's, and shrimp. Absolutely delicious. To end the night, we had dessert. All desserts were delicious. I was stuffed from the food, so I went with the vanilla gelato and it was the perfect finish to my meal! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend you checking out this restaurant on your next visit to Aspen!

Shrimp pasta, Penne Vodka, and Ravioli Funghi

Most of the other reviews are correct, this place is just OK but is $$$$. We ordered the Burrata which was good but the bread they served with it was hard as a rock. They had bread you could order off the menu which was different so we had to get that for an additional cost. We tried 3 pastas - the vodka, shrimp pasta, and the mushroom ravioli. The mushroom was by far the standout. Shrimp one tasted like it came from Olive Garden. The vodka one was good but it was very salty. Two service annoyances. I noticed after he ran our card that he had charged us for a wine that was double the price of the one we actually ordered. $13 vs $33 for a glass. He had to void it and re charge us. I also asked if he could split one glass of wine and a pasta on my work credit card so I could expense a portion of the meal and he said he couldn't. I'm over this new wave of not splitting bills. This wasn't even complicated to do. I definitely would choose other Aspen restaurants when I visit next.

Early weeknight supper. Ordered a negroni and almost choked on the first sip. The cocktail had been pour, not stirred and the top third was pure gin. Good, just unexpected. Once I stirred it up and let it sit for a few minutes, it tasted like a negroni. Prego. The mushroom and sausage pasta was good, with the pasta cooked al dente. Well done, The special swordfish was dry, and was trying to be revived by a roasted tomato sauce. Acceptable, just not very "special" as a special. Wine list expensive as is everything on the menu - oops I forget this is Aspen. Place was dimly lit with comfortable tables. Service was very good.

DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS HERE…read more If I could give this restaurant a negative 10 rating, I would. We had to cancel our entire trip due to extreme storms in the forecast. I called 28.5 hours before our reservation, yet they refused to waive the cancellation fee and are charging $75 per person ($300 total)! This was not a no-show. Weather-related travel disruptions are completely out of a guest's control, and every other reputable restaurant I've dealt with has shown basic understanding in similar situations. Instead, I was told I could reschedule for another time or purchase a gift card--neither of which is realistic, as I live in another state and have no idea when I'll be in Aspen. This policy, combined with the rude and inflexible response, felt incredibly unreasonable and profit-driven. Very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend making reservations here. What a slap in the face considering this is not even a highly rated restaurant and I've recommended two families. They said it's due to reservations being hard to get by. Please do not support this restaurant!

Hate leaving public reviews and feel bad criticizing any small business these days which is why I…read moredon't want to give our experience 1 star but after attempting to reach out to the restaurant privately and getting no response would like to give other customers and the business a heads up so future patrons are not treated this way. We had dinner on Dec 30th while sitting at the bar. To get me to write any letter the experience must be pretty extreme and even more so when you consider the food was great and service (once we sat down) was also excellent. My wife and I got there at about 630 expecting to wait for bar seats for a group of 4. Our friends who play local shows and are regulars at Ellina and know the staff joined us. I checked in with the hostess and just made sure on the bar wait protocol and offered to put our name down and they said first come first serve. There was another couple in front of us and when 2 seats opened up in the corner we told them and they sat down (cause it would obviously be wrong to cut in front of them even though we were closer to the seats). We waited patiently for a good 45 minutes with our 2 friends but were not on top of the hostess station cause it was crowded with traffic (we only were like 5 feet away though even with the middle of the bar). About 10 minutes into our wait a group of 3 walked by us (2 girls and a guy celebrating a bday) to also wait at the bar. I remember them walking in cause they  accidentally bumped into me and apologized on their way to wait right by the host station for bar seats. When finally 2 seats opened up my wife and my friend's wife took the seat and when another 10 minutes went by 3 seats next to them opened up. We went to grab 2/3 seats and then the guy from the party said that's our seats. I told him it's first come first serve and they lied and said we were here first. I mention they walked into us while you were walking in and tried to tell them we were right behind the couple who were seated before us an hour ago (their party wasn't even there for that..that's how long we were waiting). Instead of letting me explain, the manager or owner came over and yells "MY BAR MY RULES" at me and said told the other party to sit down. My friends who are regulars and know the bartender and actually have met the her (Jill??) were also shocked. So we had no choice but to wait a little longer before another few seats opened up. We did end up sitting next to the same party of the 3 and the guy actually apologized to my wife multiple times cause they knew they were in the wrong. They totally lied and got away with it.  Despite the rudeness we spent $450 and appreciate Willy working hard for us but my friends and I don't see any of us going back and supporting the establishment after the way the earlier situation was handled and after an attempt to reach privately still no response. There was so many more mature and professional ways to handle the situation like asking for my explanation or having the host who first saw me vouch for me (I asked her if there was a list to put our name down for the bar trying to be proactive) or ask the other couple that was seated down right before us, or being proactive and implementing a waiting list or maybe offering us or the other party drinks or appetizers) but yelling at a customer and completely being in the wrong was so unbelievable out of pocket. It really ruined the meal for all of us despite objectively good food and drinks and like I said Willy and David were great. Please treat your future customers better than us.

The restaurant I noted was good but not amazing which I felt to be true. Great appetizers but our mains we didn't love for 500 dollars!! THEIR STAFF had the audacity to write me back an extremely passive aggressive note back to me discouraging me from writing a review, taking the egg off of the fettuccine and they were quite surprised I even liked the burrata (passive aggressive). This isn't a good look for any restaurant. I AM SHOCKED and considering I paid 500 dollars for my meal I feel the meal should be amazing for that cost for 2 people to have 3 drinks total, 2 appetizers, 2 mains and dessert.
