Egg rolls - fresh and tasty (with a TINY tub of sweet abs sour (sauce). After that not great. Wing were "competent" - wish it would have had some sauces - they were big. After that, not great - won ton was one of the worst we've ever had. Weirdly seemed spicy - which is not normal for won ton. Broth was weird - not tasty - not terrible just not good. Won tons odd too (and we order Chinese a lot). Sticky rice - well, like a brick. Summary - not the worst meal we ever had, but disappointingly not good. Odd flavors for sone simple dishes. A few ok items - mostly not great. Disappointed.

Later on, I discovered that they added 15% gratuity for TAKE OUT. The American tipping culture has already gotten out of control but this is the first time I've experienced having the option taken away. Ask all you want, but it must be the consumers decision. To automatically include that tip without a warning or a mention is sneaky and a poor business practice. Now, the food we ordered: Wild pineapple fried rice - an interesting combo of really dried out salmon cubes, sour pineapple and cashews. Not bad, but seems like a mishmash of leftovers you use from the refrigerator. Happy Wings - pretty meaty and a definite sharp spice but doesn't linger long. Makes for fantastic leftovers as well. That's all - food wise, I give 3.5 stars, but the one-star is well deserved for what is really stealing from customers. That's all.

Just like most places in Aspen, the food here is also criminally overpriced. Between the three of…read moreus, we got a cup of soup and 3 sandwiches. Split 3 ways and including tax/tip, the bill came out to nearly $40 per person. That being said, the banh mi I got was quite good - packed w/flavor from the kimchi and the sauce; though this is probably the first time i've had a banh mi without any cilantro... The thai coconut soup, though, was a bit of a let down. It had all the right flavors, but was in dire need of some acidity and sweetness. Without that, it was quite one-dimensional. Service was decent. We were seated outside so quite a lot of people around and so it often felt quite cramped. Overall, not bad but there's definitely better out there.

As for a sit-down meal, M&C is not in the forefront of my must come back to anymore. When informed that there'll be a long wait to their charming patio; I made the mistake this evening of taking a table inside for immediate seating. Very slow and unattentive was the service there. So disappointed also I was with my undercooked "rotisserie chicken" and the once beloved brown sugar butter sauce of theirs was sour. When asked if they had changed the recipe, our server replied "it depends on who made it" - really?!? I didn't leave this time with that warm and cozy feeling of being a guest at their place, instead now I was just another customer! cheers!
