Not a lot of vegan choices. The best dish (and it was spectacular) was the eggplant dengaku. The eggplant is in a delicious miso sauce and it's served with a grilled rice cake. Highly recommend you try this! It's small, so get your own! The rest of the dishes we tried were average: vegan sushi roll, bok choy, tempura (under seasoned) and the shishito peppers.

My star rating: * Totally avoid. Why are you even open? ** Avoid unless the last restaurant on earth. *** Several important misses. Not recommended. **** Very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. ***** Hits every mark of perfection. Best Japanese restaurant in Aspen! Go ahead and treat yourself. PROS Wow! Top-quality sushi Beautiful restaurant Wonderful menu selections Incredible sake choices Very professional, friendly staff Japanese Uni was best I have ever had CONS A bit expensive, but worth it for such quality food (we did not hold back on ordering and spent about $200 pp + tip) - no regrets.

Deserves a much higher rating- tied with Matsuhisha for best sushi in town. An absolutely great experience even with a black out during our whole dinner. They did their best to get us as much as our food out as they could. Our waiter, David, was extremely accommodating & friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. We loved the wagyu beef bites, toro toro toro roll, miso soup, short rib appetizer, yellowtail serano. Ambiance is very relaxing & lively. Perfect for big groups & families

Our experience was okay, as sushi servers from LA we had high expectations with this restaurant since it was recommended from a coworker. Everything was fine, the server was nice, knowledgeable and the ambiance is upscale nightlife like. The music was good and everyone helps with running food, drinks and clearing plates. The only reason I give this 3 stars is because we thought the price point was a bit high for quality of food. We ordered pretty much 800 dollars worth of food for a table of 4 and money isn't an issue. We were full/ content but not stuffed. Our favorite was the lobster dynamite, torched salmon, duck bao and uni nigiri. One thing that disappointed us was the hot stone wagyu and salmon, it said it was cooked tableside but we had to do the cooking and immediately the wagyu stuck to the hot stone and it pretty much overcooked the meat. The salmon also got stuck so we had chunky pieces. The cocktails were also on the meh side, the yuzu lemon drop was okay but lychee martini was not good at all. Overall we probably won't be back but it was a okay experience. We ate everything (annihilated every dish) but I think we just have high standards for sushi since we work at an upscale sushi restaurant. I think it's a nice restaurant, modern upscale vibe. Come for the ambiance and experience. Expect to spend some money too.

Great food and good service! The crispy tofu was surprisingly good! Well-seasoned and great texture. Definitely the highlight of the meal since it has a very unique taste that I have not had before in other Japanese restaurants. Scallop was tender. The mushrooms and the vegetables underneath the scallops were yummy. The Godzilla roll was good. The strawberry on top was actually a good addition to the roll - a little bit of sourness makes it tastes lighter. The shrimp was a little heavy: both the coating and the sauce. But still good. Overall I enjoyed the quality of the food I tried here.

Kenichi earns 5 stars but I'd take 1/4-1/2 star off for one reason...read through to see why. It was quite late when we were ready for dinner (about 9pm) so we weren't quite sure we'd get seated anywhere, Kenichi was our first choice. As we approached we noticed they had their heat lamps going and empty tables outside- yes! However, they're not currently serving outside due to the lack in number of servers (real problem everywhere). It was decided that we could order our food "to go" but utilize their outdoor table. The bartender that we placed our order with decided that wasn't good enough (we had been good with it) and she, along with other staff, so very kindly brought all of the plates, serving pieces, and our plated food out to us. They absolutely went way above and beyond out of their way to accommodate us in a most generous manner. We always remember Kenichi to have the kindest staff, still true today a dozen years later! Our sushi is always fresh and delicious. It's presented nicely. I also appreciate the plant based options. The deleting of 1/4-1/2 star is because their ambience music is anything but ambient. It was literally the most disgusting rap music I've ever heard, this coming from a true music lover of ALL genres. This particular playlist included rap that most definitely denigrated women and was peppered continuously with talk about f@*king. Not too pleasant over dinner

Dear foodie readers...if you are in Snowmass go try Kenichi...I don't know if it's my body requesting salt after a long day of skiing, but I always crave soy sauce on our ski trips...is that just me? Well anyway, everyone was too tired from a long day of skiing to join us, so it ended up just being my hubs and I...we were seated at the bar, since we did not have reservations (highly recommend), but it was perfect...the bartender was great, so friendly and helpful with some recommendations...we had the veg yaki soba...it's a huge portion, enough to share, was delicious...we also got the eggplant, was so different, very tasty...as for rolls we tried the dynamo roll, along with the yellowtail roll...both amazing...we really enjoyed it, hit the spot after a fantastic day of skiing.

Quality - okay. Service - great! Food was good, but not as great as the prices listed. Cleanliness was there but not as everywhere else in the area Variety of dishes which is great for any picky eaters.

The fries are pretty much what you'd expect, except once they got to room temperature they became super hard and not very edible. My husband said the French dip meat was good and tender, pretty good flavor overall. I had the chicken sandwich which was huge! They split the sandwich into three wedges and I could only finish two. I liked the texture of the chicken was nice and I liked the slaw on it, however, the flavor overall was kind of lacking. I would say it was a bit overhyped. Overall, it was a nice experience for a decent price and I'm glad we went. Would we go back? Probably.

My husband thought the whole place felt affectatious. The place seeks to have this nightclub-lounge-speakeasy vibe with its super-dark lighting (almost black!). It took a good 15 minutes for my eyes to adjust to the dark lighting. I have terrible night vision...and initially I could barely see. It was stylish and sexy, but definitely not comfortable. Like a nightclub, there's even a coat check station. The overhead music was very cool...progressive, metro chic and loungy. Whatever you'd call that music genre now lol! It was cranked up a bit loud...and I think it weighed on my husband, who doesn't love this genre of music like I do. The place was obviously a magnet for a ton of pretty, young people of Aspen. I was just glad that my husband was facing me, seated away from the room, which was filled with a ton of hot, single ladies lol! The pricing was completely outlandish...to be expected of Aspen. We ordered several items off the menu to share...White Fish Tempura, Shrimp Tempura, Smoked Kurobuta Ribs, Spicy Salmon Roll and Ube Waffle. For drinks, I got this Chai cocktail...and I think my husband got the Sake? All items were delicious...but in a way, I thought they could have been better. Also, they should have cranked up the presentation more...considering its price points. I just felt that the foods could have looked as expensive as they were priced. Guess if I HAD to choose, I liked the Ribs and the Ube Waffle the most. The service was good...but somehow, a bit inconsistent at times. Overall, I was impressed with the decor and the vibe much more than the foods (again, quite underwhelming in presentation...especially for the price points). Still, I enjoyed the dining experience here...despite some disappointments. However, my husband may not have quite loved it when he got the final bill lol.

The pace of dinner was SO weird (I know weird is going to be overused in this review) The restaurant itself was SO noisy. The waiter was seemingly on-stage. He was so animated while explaining specials or answering questions, he often missed the point of "serving"...the sommelier was also VERY theatrical...made me wonder if the prerequisite to serve at Catch is to have a theater major? The problem was, neither the server or the sommelier seemed to LISTEN. I ordered a martini and I still have NO IDEA what was served to me. It tasted like the bartender used pickle juice rather than olive juice? It was HORRIBLE. The server graciously took it back and actually tasted it and agreed with me. I was too scared to order another drink so I just shared a glass of wine with my hubby: and that brings me to the wine list. It's HUGE and GiANTLY over priced. I found two bottles I was price familiar with and they are both $50-$60 bottles, but at Catch they were both $300!! Is that even legal? We all ordered a glass of wine out of principle. I am giving 3 stars for a nice filet, money back on a bad cocktail, and the overall thought that the owners or managers under-higher because towards the end of the night, our waiter (who also had a shadow he was training) was in the weeds so bad that he was crashing out. He literally threw the desserts and check on the table and was really sporadic in his movements. He seemed like he was spiraling and I genuinely felt sorry for him.
