Outdoor seating under huge umbrellas. Relaxed atmosphere. Good food, good drinks. Frozen strawberry margaritas are so refreshing on a warm day. Old fashions are a bit on the sweet side. Great coconut shrimp and rich Shrimp Alfredo. Easy to find off Main Street.

Over price is an understatement. $35 for a lobster roll that had minimum lobster and robbery taste. $15 for 1 crab cake and the scallop is really not worth it, even though it was only $5. Servers were busy talking to each other rather than checking on guests. Cocktail that tasted like water. Really not worth the money.

Scallops Casino - I ventured beyond the lobstah roll! So yummy!

Really great food and staff! Scallops casino were great! Went out of my lobster roll comfort zone!

A diamond in the rough of Basalt. The clam chowder was incredible. It was super tasty. The Shrimp in Shannon's Garlic Cream Sauce was my absolute favorite. This is one of those dishes that I could see craving and needing to satisfy that craving. The Baja tacos were ok, but the rest of our lunch was truly fantastically yummy.

Outdoor settings, located in the center of Basalt old town. Average greasy food with overpriced tags. Served in plastic utensils and paper plates. Cash only! During the Covid it seems unsanitary to handle food and cash with the same hands without gloves.

    Onion rings?

To start, we ordered this to go and usually am more forgiving on to go orders, but this food just wasn't good. Lobster Roll was OK at best and the shrimp had really good flavor, hence the 2 stars. Agree with others it's quite overpriced and packed with mayo and lettuce. French fries were exactly like everyone else's reviews state, directly from a frozen bag. Not only that, they were under cooked and soggy. Some we still cold. Onion rings really don't need any explanation. Just see picture. As far as service, I agree with the other posts about their attitude and treatment of customers. For the 5 minutes I waited for my to-go order, multiple comments were made by bartender about some customer who didn't tip well I guess. Loud enough so that anyone at the bar could here. Pretty sure the owner was standing right there and didn't say a word. Last, don't add gratuity on a 2 meal to-go order. That's just tacky.

I stumbled upon this adorable little place after a hike. I really wanted to love this place but when I sat down at the small bar all I could hear was the owner complain/freak out about everything. I use to be a server, bartender and manager so I understand if you're in the weeds, but you dont act like that in front of customers or really should you ever if you're in the biz. I felt bad for the other employee that had to put up with that behavior and handle everything (getting water for customers, taking food orders, bussing tables, running food). The lobster roll was nothing exciting. Drank water, ate the lobster roll and got out of there asap.

lobster rolls are out of control definitely come here if you're in basalt for lunch and order that.

Homemade pie and seafood...in Basalt?! But it's true!

The issues: * dirty menu * hot sake delivered room temp, server acknowledged the machine doesn't always work correctly so they'd use a backup to prepare a new one, which did come out hot. If it's a known issue though, you'd hope they'd either fix the machine or check that it's hot. The carafe was not even warm, when normally you would have a hard time holding it for an extended period when it's first served, so the fact that it was cold would have been obvious. * it's in a spare room the hotel uses for event space, so yes it is a pop-up, which means the decor is a couple Japanese screens and not much else * the rolls tasted great, but some would fall apart when picked up * soy sauce bottle on the table was empty and dirty So, could have been better, but the food quality seemed great; nice and fresh rolls and nigiri. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The desert... that was the highlight. Very unique; I unfortunately can't find the name of it as it's not on the regular menu, but it was a frozen desert like a Japanese ice cream, but soft in the center, and was served with green tea and mango flavors. If you're looking for a really wonderful sushi and/or fish experience, and don't mind the drive, Hooked over in Beaver Creek is where you'd really want to go. It's our favorite restaurant in the Rockies.

Our spring rolls came with a dipping sauce far more interesting than the typical peanut buttery stuff; we think there may have been a touch of mild curry in it. The sashimi bento featured unusually generous slices of ahi tuna, yellowtail and salmon as well as a very good seaweed salad and California roll. The miso soup had an intriguingly smoky undertone, extra umami. The basil fried rice was excellent - it's a simple dish, but this one was subtly seasoned and loaded with veggies (including asparagus). The waitstaff were unfailingly attentive; Tah (Chris) was great! The bathrooms were spotless. The tuna and hamachi were flown in from Japan the day before (Monday). The salmon was Scottish. We could taste the freshness! The price was incredibly reasonable for such high quality and such large cuts. It would have been three times that in Chicago or NY. (Or Boulder.) I had a taste for genmai cha (a green tea with toasted rice). They only had it iced, but they prepared a hot one for me and I was delighted to see it was made with whisked, powdered tea, not a teabag. Nice touch. All was really quite perfect. Not a single thing we would have changed in the experience. We plan to stop back on our way home. They have a few other locations, by the way - Alamosa, Salida, Poncha Springs, and a place west of Manitou Springs. We did our best to pitch them on Boulder! In short: What a find.

This interested me because I did not have asian food during my stay yet and I love attending pop-ups! The pop-up was located in the back of 10th Mountain Whisky and Spirit Company (a bar) which was a bit confusing to get to not being familiar with the area. I would suggest they put the location of the pop-up in the sign! We were greeted and served by Mick. My mom was not familiar with how pop-ups worked so the process was unfamiliar for her but Mick explained how it operated as a walk up counter to take food to-go or eat it in the bar lounge. Mick was very helpful, suggesting items and describing in detail how they looked and tasted. He suggested the vegan delight bao buns and while we are not vegan, we decided to try them. They were very delicious with a spicy flavor filled with glass noodles and soy sauce! My mom and I also shared the Classic Duo which are a Pork and BBQ Pork Bao, which was my favorite. The meal also came with cucumbers, carrots, and chili oil to dip, which the freshness really balanced the savory taste of the bao's. The bao's are reasonably sized and were very filling. Because we came towards the end of their pop-up, Mick kindly offered us their Beef Bao's at a 25% discount -- we got 2! Even though I tried food at a much more expensive price point, this meal ended up being my favorite from my trip! Mick's friendliness definitely added to the experience and I am glad to have met him! From this experience I learned to try unassuming things because they can end up being a highlight for a trip! Definitely would recommend trying to anyone looking for Asian food, a snack, or a filling meal in Vail Village!

Since I'd parked at Lions Head, before I returned to Denver, I considered the Vail Chophouse, as their menu looked delicious, however when I went inside, the live music was so loud - even with my noise-canceling headphones still in- that I still couldn't hear, and knew I'd blow out my ear drums. Enter: Montauk Seafood Grill, the perfect antidote, with an equally appealing menu, and a much more serene ambiance. :-) Given I was famished, I asked my wonderful server, Brenn, for recommendations, and she was - hands down - one of the best servers I've had, in a long time. She was friendly, attentive, honest, and an all around delight. I started by asking her suggestion, as to if I should order the "Blood Moon" or "Happy Coconut" mocktail, and she recommended the Blood Moon, which was delicious! I love Blood Orange, and it had the perfect combination of mint, to be both sweet & sour. I needed a mocktail, given I was driving back to Denver, after dinner. She then brought me delicious Rosemary Sourdough and Citrus Butter, as a starter, which was fantastic, especially given I needed all the carbs, from skipping lunch, riding so much, and from fasting the night before, for a prior medical appointment, that morning, in Denver, hence my late start, snowboarding. Then I ordered - and loved - the Point Reyes Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon, medium rare, with the most delicious asparagus I've ever had, and I was grateful that they could make my truffle potatoes, whipped, instead of hash brown style. I ended my delicious dinner with a cappuccino, for the drive home. Perfection!
