Clark's is one of the most fun dining spots in Aspen. The restaurant has a lively energy with a beautiful bar and stylish nautical design. It's the perfect place for seafood and cocktails after a day on the mountain. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the lobster roll was absolutely outstanding -- buttery, generous, and perfectly balanced. The martinis were excellent, and the service was quick, knowledgeable, and attentive even when the restaurant was packed. This is a local spot, has been around for years and is casual and not fancy on purpose. The service was great but we did have a what we hope was a fluke with the oysters. We ordered some east coast oysters, and two of the varieties had a very unappetizing smell. I have never seen this before. We could tell they were fresh but we couldn't get past it. So unfortunately we only had one type and returned the rest. They were very nice about it but it was a huge bummer. We also had the crab cake and branzino, both were really good, the sides were also all nicely executed. I would come back and give the oysters another try. Don't put paper on the tablecloths, either have white cloths or a nice table you can clean, this is a personal preference obviously. read more

Great seafood restaurant in Aspen. Service was timely and friendly. Small seating inside so a reservation is highly recommended. They do have bar seating which is first come. 1. Oysters - Had the WA oysters which were good, salty and briny. 2. Snapper Ceviche - Fresh, great mix of flavors from citrus to spice and herbs. Comes with crackers. 3. Lobster Roll - Ton of shoestring fries. Lots of lobster pieces on top. More herb flavor than other lobster rolls I've had but this is definitely on the top 5. 4. Crispy Red Snapper - Delicious, hot, came with grits and a tomato sauce which was full of flavor. Did not leave one drop left! 5. Flourless chocolate cake - Crumby, flavorful, sweet with the caramel. Has some pistachio nuts sprinkled on top as well. The ice cream is more water based than milk cream. 6. Broccolini side - Smoked flavor which was delicious! Last time we came here was in 2019 and I have been dreaming of coming back ever since. Our 2nd time here and it was just as amazing as I remembered. The service is always top tier and you know the food will always be great! Here is what we ordered: - oysters. All great but Fanny Bay still has my #1 spot for oysters. I will always order oysters here. It's a must. - clam chowder. Not sure what the hype is. I would pass on this next time. - wedge salad. Fantastic wedge. Would order again. Love the thick bacon chunks. - Wagyu tartare. I will definitely order this again. Was my favorite item we ordered this time. - grilled octopus. Only downside is you'll wish it came with more because it was so good. Would order again. I wish they would put Louis Roederer back on the menu. But the champagne I got ordered was good... ain't no Louis tho. We came for lunch this go around. It opens at 1130 and we were third in line at 1115. Not sure how far in advance dinner resos go but they had none available for when we were in town. This place will always be a go to destination when we are in Aspen. Everything was amazing at Clark's!!! We had just driven across the Independence parkway into Aspen and were ready for a tasty late lunch. (With a few cocktails) Beginning with the hostess, to the server who poured our water, to our table server- all of the staff was so nice and all of the food we tried was delicious. The atmosphere is light, bright and fun- with a cool aquarium up front! We began with oysters- recommended by our server and the steak tartare- we didn't need both but I'm so glad we ordered them- incredibly good and fresh! I ordered the Crab Louie and my husband ordered the Tuna Salad Sandwich for our mains...not disappointed- the tuna was huge, but very delicious- served with skinny shoestring fries. My Crab Louie was just the right size and again, so tasty and fresh. We wanted to try the caviar, but we didn't, so we may have to go back for that. Oysters were pretty good but it's hard to distinguish one oyster from another. Serving sizes were exceptionally diminutive. Swordfish about the thickness of a cracker and not much bigger (2 pieces though). Garlic butter to dip it in was excellent. I think I would not return but check it out for yourself. THE seafood spot in Aspen. We started with Oysters and loved all of them especially east coast "sex on the bay" oyster. Our mains were the lobster roll and the crab cake. The lobster roll was good but was on the drier side with only butter, no sauce. The fries were salty and unique, paired perfectly with the bread and lobster. The crab cake was excellent, one of the best I've had comparing it to other fine dining seafood experiences. The restaurant itself was calm and friendly. I was in Aspen for a few days and I'd looked up some good food spots to consider beforehand. This place was well reviewed and looked good. My friend and I arrived and walked in. We were met with a bright pleasant feel and the smell of good seafood. It was packed for the lunch rush. We put our name and number on the waiting list and were told it would be 15 minutes. No problem, so we walked around and checked out some nearby shops and enjoyed the cool air and the great views. (this was Nov. 1st 2024) Right on time, we got a text and we hustled back. We were seated immediately at a table against the wall and we perused the menu. Fresh slices of sourdough bread with radishes, salt and butter arrived. Tasty. We ordered some oysters and some drinks. We especially enjoyed the "oishi" variety. They were fantastic. Plump, deep cupped & briny, a bit creamy and had a bit of the taste of watermelon rind at the end. They reminded me a bit of Kumamoto oysters which are my favorite. Delicious. Then we got our entrees. I had a terrific bowl of chowder with Tabasco. Really good with bits of bacon and some oyster crackers on the side. My friend had the grilled oysters that came with more crusty bread. He loved it. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed but upscale. I saw a huge good looking burger with a stack of fries and an equally big BLT as it passed by for another table. So, I'm definitely looking forward to coming back again soon and trying more of the menu. 10/10 read more

Put this on the top of the list! The fish was so fresh and was some of the best linguine and clam sauce I have ever tasted! I got the jalapeños on the side and they are able to accommodate. The shells and crab were baked perfectly. The oysters were small and cold and would have even ordered more! Make sure to make a reservation well in advance as they sell out quickly. The only thing I wouldn't re order was the red snapper ceviche as it was actually pretty sweet instead of a classic limey ceviche but the other apps were delicious! The lobster roll was cold but came with hot butter. The key like pie had such unique yummy additions to it I loved it! HUGE fan of Clark's!!! I've frequented the Austin location and discovered the Aspen location last summer. It's definitely a must when visiting!! It seems as if Clark's may be one of the only true Oyster Bars in Aspen -- if you've been to Clark's before, this location boasts the same quality and lovely experience as any of the other locations. Of course the oysters are AMAZING! The bread they bring to the table is so mouth watering delicious Also a big fan of their Lobster Roll. They don't have a ton of none seafood option for decent meals except a Burger. TIP WHEN VISITING WITH KIDS: you can order a bacon grilled cheese sandwich and it's made on their delicious sourdough. Huge hit for my kids when we visit! They also have a lovely bar and delicious cocktail menu + a bomb Happy Hour special (50 cent oysters and half off cocktails)! Food is on point! We tried the clam chowder, oysters, and burger. Half priced burgers for happy hour was a great deal. Our waitress was very kind and brought my dog a bowl of water. Only 3 tables in the patio, so I recommend coming early for happy hour if you'd like to sit outside 4 stars instead of 5 because The hostess was a little rude- initially turned me down due to no openings Bc someone else had reserved a table. Then my husband went in after me and mentioned we saw 2 empty outdoor tables and we were able to be seated right away. During our entire meal, we received no attention or care from our server, unlike the other tables around us. I even had to walk up to request the check myself, and it still took 20 minutes to arrive. After paying, the server never came back to pick up the card, so after another 20 minutes, I ended up bringing it over myself. This was the worst service experience I've ever had.
