The brunet hostess is hostile, unprofessional and unacomodating must be her expertise. We were coming from dinner at Prospect inside Jerome and when we got at the door we didnt say a word and she shout 'no one is entering now and we'll be only allowing entrance within one hour with bottle purchasing' - meanwhile, 2 guys entered, we were so speechless and obviously, would not insist to enter a place that made it clear did not want our presence. Love this place. We had drinks here after our first dinner in Aspen. The drinks were so well made and delicious. Presentation was wonderful. The atmosphere is great. We made reservations online about a month before our trip. Our server was great! We didn't get to try any of the snacks. It is pricey, but I think it comes with the service and atmosphere. My husband and I made a reservation for The Soirée experience, and it did not disappoint! We received 6 beautifully crafted cocktails and 5 light bites over 2.5 hours. Every drink was delicious and they made sure to ask at the beginning if there were any flavors/alcohol we didn't like so they could avoid them. The space itself is beautiful and gives a cozy speakeasy vibe. It was dimly lit, music was great but not overpowering, and the decor was on point. All staff we interacted with were very kind and knowledgeable of the drinks, snacks, and area. We will definitely come back to Bad Harriet the next time we are in Aspen! read more

Came here for pre-dinner cocktails and the place was decorated very tastefully with dark, moody lighting and lounge-esque seating. We were staying at the Hotel Jerome so it made sense that we pop in here one of the days. Our server was nice and the cocktails were good but it just felt underwhelming overall. It required a $70/person minimum to reserve despite it saying $50 on the website for a la carte. I wonder if The Soiree experience or even the omakase experience are the way to go. The cocktail concoctions were great and of course they offer the trendy basics if you don't want to be adventurous and just want to stick to an espresso martini or dirty martini. For those non-alcoholic drinkers, they also have a few zero proof craft cocktail options including a martini. The pisco sour is great if you're looking for something on the sweeter side, and the ivy was delicious and perfectly balanced (an adult green juice). If you have time to spare and want to relax in this historic little spot, it's a cool spot to check out but it's absolutely something you can pass on for other plans. read more

if you take the Eleven Madison Park pop-up out of the equation, Bad Harriet, a downstairs speakeasy bar which is part of the Hotel Jerome, though located in the old Aspen Times newspaper building is the 'motherlode' for a sexy cocktail hour this winter 2019 season. The look is somewhat Art Deco and Ralph Lauren would look at home here. Cocktails are outstanding and there is a small menu of food, however the friendly servers come by with small bites to taste every 20 minutes or so - you will not get hungry. I particularly enjoyed the pigs in a blanket interpretation. Not to be missed. read more

One star for the atmosphere and beautiful set up. Poor service, $25 martini the smallest size you can imagine. No snacks except a cart they push around with $20 almonds etc that we had to ask for twice. Waitress was non existent and we sat with empty drinks (they were so small they were gone quickly!). At least they got the name right by using the word BAD. J-Bar next door is fabulous def go there and avoid Bad Harriet. read more

We got 1 small, overpriced drink in an hour and the egregiously overpriced appetizer cart didn't come around to us for over an hour, even after we asked multiple times and they went to every table except ours (I have zero issue paying high prices for great service and food/drinks, but this was beyond subpar). Will not be back. Don't waste your time on this one. Oh, it was also nearly empty, so obviously it's not catching on. I wish I could get those 90 minutes of my life back. Would not recommend. When we went to order 2 of the drinks on the menu weren't available because the bartender who made them wasn't there. One of the drinks we had been planning to order, and so in its place we asked if we could just get a gin and tonic. Nope, you can't order anything besides the maybe 10 drinks on the menu. So then we finally placed our order and one of the drinks, the San Miguel, was literally a shot of tequila. The other drink was an okay French 75. Nice place for a drink. Make a reservation for your party regardless of the number of guests. There is very limited seating. I understand the whole "speakeasy" thing, but It's a slightly contrived environment. Lots of roaring 40s decor. I've had plenty of great craft cocktails all over the world. Some of which have been on a beach without shoes. The environment of a cocktail bar should naturally enhance the experience, not Distract from it. The clientele here comes off as a little pretentious, which I take with a grain of salt .....It is Aspen after all. I would recommend Throwing on a button down and closed toed shoes and dressing smartly for" not a college bar scene". It is refreshing that there aren't any televisions in the establishment. Its located next to the Hotel Jerome in the old Aspen News building. Cocktails range from 17-35$. Which isn't unreasonable pricing for what you are receiving. The cocktail menu could use a few more drinks to select from in my opinion, seeing that it is a "cocktail lounge". read more

Do not waste your time making a reservation here as they won't answer the phone or give you a refund if your flight is canceled and can not make your reservation. Took me 2weeks and multiple phone calls to get a live person on the phone who was zero help. Went in person to concierge desk and they took my info to call me regarding the reservation and never did. They will just take your money. I will never go here and I hope they close. Horrible customer service. read more

Don't go here!!! They don't even serve food and it's listed as a restaurant on the hotel's website. They make you pay up front when you book for a reason. If you went there and saw what you got for your money, you would walk out. Total rip off! We booked a reservation at what the hotel site said was a restaurant. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, NOT WORTH IT. I booked a reservation for a group of friends in January, and we couldn't make it because of COVID we let them know 3 days in advance & they told us we couldnt get our money back, fine whatever not a big deal but at least accommodate and let us come another date . They also said since we had COVID we couldn't go which of course we didn't plan on going because too sick, but the fact they told us we couldn't attend or get our money back or accommodate us for another date is upsetting. We asked about rescheduling to another date and we didn't have an exact date we would be able to make it back but knew we would be coming back sometime this year. They said we could do that which was a lie. I called again & was told that I could no longer book my reservation and it hasn't even been over two months. I have worked in many reastraunts as every position and have never ever treated one customer which the amount of disrespect I was treated with from the manager. The Manager kept talking over me and never let me talk she kept giving excuses and wasn't even willing to accommodate. I don't think any customer should ever be treated with the amount of disrespect this manger treated me with. read more

We gave up considering the exorbitant amt of time it had already taken for drinks and apps. Came here with a group of friends and had an absolutely terrible experience. Here's a breakdown: - The drinks are ridiculously overpriced (think $23 for a smaller than usual cocktail) - 5 members of our party waited for drinks for 20 minutes (while there were only a few more patrons in the restaurant) - Appetizers are overpriced and vastly underwhelming. We ordered spring rolls and they were literally romaine lettuce wrapped up with ranch dressing. On a plus side, the presentation was nice. - We had to ask for water at least 4 times - The waitress had agreed to comp some of the late drinks. When the bill came and they were still on there, she said she never agreed to that and only agreed to comping an app. Atmosphere: 8/10 Drinks: 5/10 Food: 2/10 Service: 1/10 Never again. read more

Don't waste your time or money. The only reason this "restaurant" got 1 star. Is because they don't let you leave zero stars on a review. We booked our "dinner" for New Year's Eve through Tock at Bad Harriet. Their website advertised they served dinner. We later learned they don't serve dinner, just very light appetizers and cocktails. When I tried to cancel, they would not allow it as that was Tock's policy. We had a 12 year old and 15 year old in our party and we don't drink alcohol. $267. bill would be the total with no entrees available to us. They wouldn't let us cancel so we got charged the full amount and got nothing. We will never go back to any of the restaurants attached to that Hotel. I still can't believe no one would help us find a solution. They funny thing is, when I called the hotel, they assured me we could have dinner at Bad Harriet's and that it was appropriate for kids to be there. ?!?!?!?!?!?! DON'T BOTHER... We were in town for a wedding last month at the Jerome. After a wonderful dinner with family in the Jerome Bar, we were on our way back to our hotel down the street and noticed the front window full of the antique typewriters. We stopped at the front door and looked in thinking it was closed. A very nicely dressed young lady came to the door and invited us to come in. The interior of the bar is magnificent. It came as no surprise that Ralph Lauren's design team, who designed the interior for the Hotel Jerome, was responsible for this as well. Walking downstairs to enter the bar area was like a scene from Woody Allen's "Midnight In Paris". We felt immediately transported into a 1920's speakeasy, a very luxurious one at that. We returned two more times before we left town. Service is tops. read more
