Delicious food. Attentive staff. Great atmosphere. I will always recommend this restaurant. Their homemade chicharones are so good! Drinks are great. They really have it dialed in. read more

I tend to judge all Mexican restaurants by their chili relleno. This one is quite good but the molcajete meat stole the show. Packed full and with a delicious sauce that continued to boil long after it arrived on the table. Services was friendly and accommodating. I was checked on multiple times by the waitress, manager and the guy doing everything from Hosting to clearing tables. I was so impressed that I ate here the next day as well. It's that good read more

I have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants, and i would say its just fair. But i did only have a burrito so maybe other dishes were better. My husband had ceviche his complaint was the portion size. The chips were also not great..not fresh. read more

Called for a take out. They got my order wrong. Then they tried to tell me I ordered fajitas and I said taquitos. Apparently irritated the lady. She said we'd have to wait. When they brought out our order, I should've checked. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER! we got home and it was a soggy order of chicken tacos. Probably someone's order sitting that they weren't going to use. Horrible customer service and attitude. This was 8/14/2026 around 8:30pm. I would not recommend. The other food was not even good. read more

We have a group of mostly retired friends and 4 to 8 of us get together almost every week for happy hour. The wait staff is wonderful and knows us all by name !! The food is traditional and always very good. We are gone by 6PM to avoid the crowd. With good weather, the outdoor seating is perfect. read more

Food was good and came out in a reasonable amount of time, especially for it being a full house. Margarita were superb! Will definitely come again for them. Green sauce has a good kick to it on the enchiladas. I would like to mention, though, my enchiladas said it would be served with cabbage but it came out with lettuce. read more

This is a fun place to get a giant margarita that will have you black out drunk before the food arrives. Truth be told I can't even remember how good the food was. 3.4/5 read more

Mediocre at best. The Ground beef had Italian seasoning in it. It was meat sauce for pasta. Wrong. Chips were not fresh. Food had zero flavor. Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the employees seem friendly, but they need to get a chef back there that knows how to cook Mexican food. Duh. I could more authentic Mexican food at home! Do better guys, c'mon read more

I LOVE this place, since moving to the valley I have been to el korita at least 1-2 times a month, I almost always get the fried red snapper with ajillo sauce and it is so so soooo delicious! I have tried the mixed cocktail very good as well and loved the presentation. Today I got the seafood parrilla and also had it last week, this is one of my favorite places in the valley and also being a Mexican chef this place is legit! Desserts are very good as well. I personally didn't care for the cocktails they're not very balanced mojito was not good when I got it, pina colada, margarita, and Micheladas are go read more

The food is good, not the best I've ever had but far from the worst. If you're having a craving it will scratch that itch. But $5 for a fountain drink, limited to one refill? Really? It costs cents to make a fountain drink, the ice usually being the most expensive thing in the glass. I know inflation and recession have been a thing, but damn. Figure there's probably about $4.60 or so in profit being made on this, for every drink that gets ordered. read more

Excelente servicio y la misma calidad de Las Koras de Bonfil! Se les acabó mi favorito...Ceviche de Nayarit, pero me regalaron lo poquito que tenían. Muy lindo detalle! I went last night for the first time in years. I went to a party. I ordered my favorite Red Snapoer and it came 29 minutes after all my friends had already eaten there dinners so I had it to go . I shared a Red Snapper dinner with my friend and it was terrible full of bones and they left the head on. I tried to eat mine left over tonight and they sliced slices in the flesh so that it cut the bones into small pieces and left the head on . I could not eat it. So I threw away an expensive meal. I'll never order that again. Disappointed in Basalt Colorado. Going out to eat is a treat for a lot of us and I hate throwing my meal away. read more

Best place for delicious seafood/mexican dishes! Always busy so plan ahead! Perfect place for families, friends and any other type of gatherings! I have been going to el Koritas ever since they first opened their restaurant at the building next to Movieland! I'm so happy with their growth in business, friendships and food! I will always continue to eat there. These are the restaurants you want to eat, with local restaurants. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. read more

Have eaten at ElKorita over the years with my son and typically it has been pleasant with good reliable Mexican food. However tonight the restaurant was slammed according to my waiter. I ordered a wonderful margarita while I waited for takeout nachos. Food arrived, I paid and left only to discover black nachos and no guacamole. It was pretty substandard. Went back in to complain and got major attitude from huffy waiter. He barked that it was not his fault...this is not good service however small the order. " How may I make this better?" Is correct response for anyone serving the public. Will look for a more service oriented Mexican restaurant in future. read more

You know a place is excellent. When you have six people order separate items for dinner, and each each item is amazing. I haven't had guacamole that good since Puerto Vallarta. Although I have been coming here for years and like the staff, today was not good. My son got food poisoning 12/23 from a pork burrito. He's been sick all night-classic food poisoning. Gross and preventable. UPDATE: my son is going to the ER.We have been up all night. The ONLY thing he ate yesterday was lunch at El Korita! 109% sure it's food poisoning from the pork. FOOD: Wow! I've never had anything like the Molcajete Seafood dish and considering it's served boiling you might be worried about over cooked, but no, everything was perfectly tender. Octopus, shrimp, fish, crab and more. This dish delivers flavor, fresh food and experience. Salsa was fresh and tasty. Guacamole was great. Service was outstanding. I went at 3:30 PM on a Sunday. There when we needed, let us pick most remote table outside even though we were two at a four top. Cleanliness: no problems, cleaned table before we sat down. Everyone wore a mask. PRICE: Very reasonable. $22 for the seafood dish which we split for 2. Total tab for 3 margarita's, main dish, guac and salsa/chips (latter complimentary) about $56 with tax. A foodie acquaintance recommended I go for a house margarita and the dish, and said if I didn't like it, she'd pay for it. She was spot on and I won't be collecting. Do the same and you won't be disappointed. read more

El Korita - MOLCAJETE SEAFOOD, served in a boiling pot, enough for 2 - Mexican Near Me - Basalt, Colorado

Chile relleno had been into the warmer so long that the food was dangerously hot, and don't even get me started on the plate. Rest of table was finis(ed before I could even start. The coating on the chile relleno had been reduced to mush. There was something bitter in the salad that I tasted for hours over the food, and the server did not care. Add that to the $4.99 fountain soda (one refill but that requires a server to come by and notice) , no prices for margaritas on the menu, one margarita says choice of tequila, but it is not the customer's choice apparently. They never asked. There are better choices in Basalt for Mexican. read more

I give this 1 stars only because the Happy Hour menu is great IF you can get waited on. Our server was terrible, we had to ask other staff for drinks, chips and even an additional order. So disappointed and will not return, this has happened on numerous occasions at this location. read more

El Korita - My order of a dozen wings, or should I say 11 wings and a crumb. So disappointing - Mexican Near Me - Basalt, Colorado

We live local here and there are many good mexican restaurants to choose from. Today we chose El Korita which we do often. The food is always good but the service today was below sub par! We chose a time of day that was not during the busy time. The restaurant had a good flow of people coming and going but our server was not attentive. We are not sure if they are short staffed but we chose to leave a below average tip because of the poor service. We were a party of two and a nearby table that ordered after us received their food before us and we had a simple order. When could not locate our server when we were finished so we took our check to the front desk to pay and the older women working as front cashier was on the phone and rang up our order and dI'd not even say thank you. We will by pass your restaurant next time because of the poor service. Many other Mexican restaurants in our Valley to choose from that would love our business! Service was abysmal. Sat down at the bar and then 4 other people sat down after us. Ordered an appetizer and main course. Everyone else got their food before we got our appetizer. So we cancelled the appetizer and waited for our main course. It never came so we cancelled our order and asked for our bill. No manager came over so we asked to speak with one on our way out. The lady we spoke with did not have much to say other than she heard we cancelled our appetizer. Will definitely be taking our business where they care about the customer! read more

The food is great the staff as well just one small thing that I have noticed is for take out orders the servings are not as they should be compared to eating in the restauran. I ordered a "ceviche special" and It came in small container that wasn't even full with 2 pieces of avocado. Iv ordered the same plate in the restaurant and was a huge difference in the serving size. I would appreciate if yall took the take out orders more serious and have the same serving size atleast. The food was decent. I highly recommend the Chile rellenos. The green Chile was pretty solid and the re fried beans I would recommend subbing for the black beans. The black beans were FIRE, and I'm usually obsessed with refried beans but the black beans out did the others. The refried beans were under seasoned. The rice was gross. It was super bland. The chimichanga was pretty good too but would have been better with green Chile than green sauce. My only complaint that lowered my rating was the service--It was horrible. Our server never came to our table once during the entire meal. And he wasn't familiar with the menu At all. I asked for a side of green Chile and he said they no longer serve it at the restaurant. Which was not the case because my sisters meal came smothered in it. A Mexican restaurant without green Chile in Colorado haha! The margaritas were also pretty good. As far as the prices go, there was one page of the menus that was between 10-17 per plate and it was burritos, chimichangas, flautas and chili rellanos. The rest of the menu was 26+ per plate. There were some great share plate if you're going with more than two people but they were around $50 per entree. read more

Delicious food with poor service. Even sitting at the bar I am rarely asked if I would like another beer, or margarita. I would recommend that if you don't speak Spanish just get take out. If you value your time, money, and tastebuds, avoid this place like the plague. Service is painfully slow despite our server demanding to take our order as soon as we sat down. We ordered drinks and then had to wait 20 minutes or so until a completely different server came by and took our order. The food is here is just plain bad, we've tried to give El Korita the benefit of the doubt multiple times but have never been impressed by the quality of the dishes. Queso is basically just melted cheddar jack with no flavor and lots of grease. Take your business to other nearby Mexican places, your wallet and your stomach will appreciate it. read more

Service was not good. I ordered guacamole no onion, can't do without onion. Not a big deal, aside from we didn't find out until 40 minutes after we ordered. Whatever next we sit there for another 30 mins with zero attentiveness from our server, who was packing up every to go order for the restaurant. Side note, touching her head as she was packing orders. I asked for our food to go as we didn't want to wait any longer. So we get all the way home and you guessed it...the food packed might as well have been McDobalds because it was hot what we ordered. So I said whatever I'm starving, I go to eat and there is a long dark piece of HAIR right in the middle of the meal I was going to eat. I'm sure there is well intended people that work here, but I wouldn't recommend. More sanitary options out there. read more
