A classic margarita and a Paloma.
    Melissa B.

In between our walks through downtown Aspen, waiting for our dinner reservation, we came upon a beautiful, Mexican restaurant with an outdoor patio. The weather here is amazing/ as it is the beginning of July, I can see the mountains of Aspen from where I am sitting. We usually never make happy hour but it is happy right now, and it's from 3 to 6!! So, my classic margarita is on happy hour!!! Amazing!! They brought complimentary chips with salsa and Verde dips/ but we ale ordered guacamole and queso because we love that. All of our servers have been amazing, the scene is beautiful, it's open and clear- amazing views. I would definitely stop here on my next trip.

The queso is amazing as always with the best chips in the world. Also I am a meat eater but the mushroom quesadilla is to one of the best quesadillas I've ever had in my life

Las Montañas is a great addition to the Aspen food scene. The chips and salsa to start are excellent. We ordered the fajitas which was just enough for two people. I was really impressed with the flour tortillas -- great texture and depth of flavor. The restaurant is cozy and festive. The service is high energy and fast. Insider's Tip: The restaurant is on the upper level of the shopping plaza.

Beautiful restaurant. The chips and salsa were the perfect start to our meal. We had the grilled fish tacos, crispy beef taco and picadillo enchiladas. The fish, tortilla, chipotle aioli, carrot puree, cumin rice, and housemade pinto were delicious. My brother was disappointed with beef since it was dry. We overall had a great visit.

Food flavors were on point all around. Servers were very attentive and suggestive. It's a cozy place with an upbeat vibe. Fits right in to the Aspen scene. It's definitely on my list of places to visit every time I'm in Aspen. My only complaint is that they didn't open a Los Montañas back in my home town. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!!!

Steak Asado Tacos. Everything tasted delicious.

The service, drinks and food were excellent. We enjoyed our dining experience and highly recommend this Mexican food restaurant. I am from South Texas where we have genuine Mexican food. Las Moñtanas exceeded all of our expectations.

Great food. Margarita wasn't the best. Just basic. Sat on the rooftop. Great vibe!!! Would recommend for happy hour.

Well prepared Mexican. Fun bar to wait for your table. The steak fajitas are enough for 2. One of my fave stops in Aspen.

The crispy chicken sandwich is honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Perfectly crispy, juicy, and balanced with just the right amount of heat. The service was wonderful, we got our food very quickly, and the ambiance was adorable. A little loud but nothing too crazy. The food itself was fine. We ordered the duo dip, French fries, the French dip, and the chicken sandwich. The guac and the other dip were really good and we loved the chips too. The fries are pretty much what you'd expect, except once they got to room temperature they became super hard and not very edible. My husband said the French dip meat was good and tender, pretty good flavor overall. I had the chicken sandwich which was huge! They split the sandwich into three wedges and I could only finish two. I liked the texture of the chicken was nice and I liked the slaw on it, however, the flavor overall was kind of lacking. I would say it was a bit overhyped. Overall, it was a nice experience for a decent price and I'm glad we went. Would we go back? Probably.

I also had a mocktail; they had a floral sounding gin-based cocktail ($25) but I didn't want to drink alcohol (worried about having a headache) and they made me a mocktail version ($18) and it tasted girly and fun (just like I like my drinks!). There is downtown Aspen parking available around, it's all per hour and seasonal rates, plus residential parking which is a bit cheaper. I don't think there's any fully free parking anywhere in the area unfortunately. Will also just mention -- the bathroom was immaculate. Smelled lovely, and I dug the dark/black vibe. So glad we did. On our last night in town, we had reservations at a restaurant down the street and came here for a pre-meal beverage. Upon entering the Hyatt, a see-through fireplace to the left serves as your initial glimpse into the tasting room. Coming from the traditional mountain chic of the hotel, the Marble Bar's decor is strikingly different, with its HGTV clean lines / grey / white modern aesthetic. Yet it still manages to be wonderfully cozy with multiple small group sitting areas, complete with fur throws and the aforementioned wood burning fireplaces, as well as bar seating if that's more your thing. There is also an outdoor fire pit that looked tempting, but it was snowing pretty heavily, and we said another time. The place was quiet with only 2 other patrons when we first arrived, but after about 30 mins it was quite lively. The mixologist (not to sound pretentious, but 'bartender' just doesn't do her justice) was amazing. I'm so sorry I can't remember her name, but if I say Boston then it should be obvious who I'm referring to. She was a great conversationalist, excellent cocktail fabricator, and really helped get our evening off to a perfect start. We would have stayed longer if it weren't for those reservations. As for the most important piece, the beverages! We had 4 different whiskey based cocktails amongst the group, and all were absolutely fantastic - there was a lot of sharing. I had The Paragon and enjoyed it so much went home with a small bottle of the Moonlight EXpresso (not a typo) Reserve to try to recreate the magic. I was told it was one of the first liqueurs created by the owner, and the website has a recipe for cheesecake, which I certainly will be trying. I called them at 8:30 and they said kitchen is open till 9pm which was fair. We got there at 8:50pm and the hostess looked over to someone who looked like the shift manager and she said "sorry the kitchen is closed". I did not feel like arguing so we just decided to have some pizzas and drinks. That was a big mistake. I ordered what looked like a calzone (pizza that is wrapped) and it was the saltiest dish I've tried. Again we were trying to be mindful and too nice but I think we just went too far for being too nice. I then ordered the other pizza and it was honestly quite mediocre. The waiter was really nice and that's why I'm giving it 1 star otherwise it would be zero for us. They weren't even willing to provide salad. Come on! You can't even make salad in your kitchen? That was just ridiculous. And believe it or not, we had amazing food in every other restaurant we tried in Aspen so this was certainly a one off. My suggestion to the management team is to be honest about your the last call from your kitchen. If you close at 10pm and your kitchen runs till 9pm, you ought to be able to take orders till 9pm. Otherwise, be upfront and shot down kitchen at 8:30pm. Quite disappointed and not even sure if I would ever want to give this place a try.
