We got a free shuttle to Miner's Claim from the Holiday Inn down the road. It was an awesome experience! We were driven in a golf cart with LED lights and music right to the front of the restaurant. When we arrived they said they had a special table for us. It's called the bird's nest. It's a private table in the back with its own tree, lights and tv. The staff were super nice and the food was amazing. The kids meal was huge and the drinks were very tasty. I got the frozen strawberry daiquiri and my husband got the Scottsdale. We stopped here randomly on our way to Palisades Colorado and we were not disappointed! This place is in a small town with a beautiful wooden interior and patio. They even sat us at a table with south hanging lake pictured which we just came hiking from! For drinks i got an espresso martini which was average. It came with the shaker with some left over martini that didn't fit in the glass which was generous. I got the salad and the fillet with mashed potatoes for dinner. Also pictured is the 10oz bistro steak. The salad was crispy and fresh only thing that i thought was weird was that they didn't have Italian dressing. Everything about the steak and sides for the entrees were excellent which we were not really expecting to get from a smaller town. The cheese/house demi glaze on the fillet was phenomenal. One thing to add is that the steaks tasted completely different with the sauces we definitely preferred the fillet sauce but the bistro steak was not bad. We were not expecting sweet mashed potatoes which we normally aren't a fan of but these were thick and tasty. We even ate the carrots and zucchini which we also normally aren't a fan of. The sauce and everything put together elevated the whole dish and sides. Overall i would recommend stopping by this place! They have a huge martini selection and all of the food exceeded our standards. The prices were also reasonable. We had no complaints and the patio area was really nice with the fire pit. read more

Christian and the entire staff are wonderful. We eat a the miners claim weekly and have found rhe food to be second only to the friendly service and atmosphere. This place... wtf? It's a tent attached to a semi-permanent structure. How do they even lock it up at night? The food was waaay overpriced for said structure. I ordered a martini and the waitress spilled it all over our table... didn't wipe it up... didn't offer me another. The Caesar salad dressing was sweet? My husband's food was fine, but this is like the only restaurant in town and it's a joke. The ambiance is "trying to be a restaurant" but let's be honest, it isn't. The owner allowed his workers to harass customers. The restaurant workers were ogling and making rude comments in Spanish about a woman at the next table. Her date said something back to the workers, whose words were annoying not only the woman, but also the other nearby diner. The owner came out and not only did not apologize for his workers bad behavior, but he stood up for the workers, flirted with and hit on the woman and bought her dinner. Then, the owner called the police on the lady's date who was sticking up for her and had him arrested. Then the owner sat down and had dinner with the woman, flirting with her the whole time. Well, I got potato skins and three tacos at a steakhouse because the steaks were 8 ounces for $44. That's a very small steak for that price and then there was tables in the front room. They take us all the way to the back and put us in a room back there is very hot. We told the waitress three times to put on that AC. It's like a wall AC and a fiddle fellow with it. It got a little tiny cooler, but not much. The bill still turned out to be $91. If you're gonna call yourself a steakhouse you better have at least 1 pound steaks, ribeyes and not run out of them.
