First off, we were met with a cold waitress. It seemed like it was such a chore to take our orders. I asked for a side of ranch for our pizza and she came back with the tiniest sauce container with less than a tablespoon of ranch in it, which I originally thought was fine because I could just ask for more, which I did end up doing. Then, every time my boyfriend's soda was low she would take it and refill it, not specifying that it would cost us for a refill. Then we get our check and I see 2 charges for ranch $2 each and 2 charges for soda $6 each. She never specified that the ranch nor the soda refills would be extra especially since the ranch portion was smaller than a shot glass. Some places charge for ranch which is fine, but they give you enough ranch to justify a charge. Then on top of that there was a 22% gratuity fee already added because we were a group larger than 6. AND on top of that there was a 5% employee wellness fee. Both explain why the waitress didn't need to care about doing a good job because she was already guaranteed a 27% tip. Keep in mind this was all noticed after we got the receipt emailed and had already paid because on the software they use for paying, it didn't show us an itemized receipt. And of course, we could have waived the employee wellness fee but we didn't know that it existed or that we could've waived it until after we paid. Just pay your employees more or up the prices of your menu items to include the "wellness" fee.

They serve up American bar food and appetizers with a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails on their drink menu. Iron Horse Tap is located inside The Plaza and has great views of Mt. Crested Butte's Peak. We were able to walk over from our hotel. It was a chilly night, so we appreciated how warm and cozy the place was. Iron Horse has a number of TVs that show various sporting events. The pizza options on the menu looked good, so order a MOB Pizza with a beer. I like to try the local beers whenever I visit a new town and Iron Horse had a selection of local Colorado beers on tap. Iron Horse Tap had a nice crowd on hand and ended up being a solid first stop for us on this trip to Crested Butte.

The patio was gorgeous, and the food was my favorite meal I had while visiting Crested Butte! I was amazed at how quickly we were helped, especially considering them being short staffed on top of them hosting a wedding party. I mostly wanted to leave a review because our server (I believe his name was Daniel) was incredible. As somebody who works in food service, it can feel like a lot of pressure to tend to each guest, but he was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire meal! I asked him for a recommendation between 2 brews I was deciding on, and even after I said I trusted his judgment, he STILL brought me both options for me to try, so that I could decide for myself. He recommended we also add the cheese fondue for the pretzel we got as an appetizer, and I would trust the man with my life... lol. I experienced firsthand how wonderful of a server he was, and was absolutely appalled by the treatment he received from the guests at the table next to us. I understand things happen and communication can be difficult when there's so much going on, but they were giving the server a hard time when they received a drink they supposedly hadn't ordered. The server was able to get it removed from their bill, and it seemed like it had been handled politely and quickly. Not long after I saw their food arrive, I watched one of the guests complain about something... Daniel immediately took it back to the kitchen to fix it, but as he walked away I noticed the group of men laughing at him. While Daniel remained patient, and did everything he could to satisfy them, it was incredibly disheartening to see somebody so kind, who'd been working incredibly hard, be treated the way he was. It seemed to me as though they were finding humor in making him run around. While I like to assume best intent, watching them laugh as he addressed their concerns and rushed to fix them made me feel as though they'd done so on purpose. Daniel took it like a champ, and still continued to check in with us throughout the meal. I hope Bruhaus knows how grateful myself and so many others are, to be served by such kind people! THANK YOU

The redheaded bartender was so sweet and came over to make sure we liked all our drinks, the food was pretty good, the portions are big. I felt like we were rushed, apparently they closed at nine and I was surprised to find out when we were given such a late reservation, they were bringing out the birthday dessert and singing, while we were still eating our dinners. One of my friends meals never came out and there were some logistical issues with it so she ended up getting hers packed to go. It was good, but not sure I would prioritize this next time I'm in this area.
