a plate of food

Stopped in while skiing on Christmas Day and truly had such an amazing experience! The food was to die for-- especially the stroganoff! It's definitely pricey, but worth it for a little splurge on a special occasion! They were understaffed on Christmas yet they still provided a great experience. The cabin is cozy and a great place to warm up on the slopes.

One of the best bloody Mary's I've had! Its the perfect bar for a midday snack & drinks. The view is incredible & the bartender are awesome. French onion soup & bison chili are a must

Flatiron steak salad, excellent, big enough to share

Another fabulous lunch on the mountain. The food is excellent. We each had a bowl of soup, I had the butternut squash soup topped with a crunchy piece of duck confit, so good. The mushroom soup was again delicious. My husband had the salad with flat iron steak, perfectly medium rare. My salad was over the top delicious, mushroom salad, so good, mushrooms were crispy, great salad. Again, a treat to eat at this great mountain restaurant. Next ski season, we are definitely trying the dinner and sleigh ride.

Super cool place to stop half way down the mountain. They have an ice bar outside with great selection, they also have a very nice sit down type restaurant inside with a fire place. Honestly you can't beat the view !!! Take Red Lady Express to the Peanut trail and you'll see it on the left.

We went to Uley's every day during our trip, once just for drinks, because we liked it that much. If you aren't hungry and just want a drink you can warm up by the fire with a glass of wine or a cocktail. The Alpine 75 and the coffee with all the different liquors were both delightful. The first day we had the duck and the bison steak, both were delicious. The crab hush puppies are a must. The next time we had soup, kale salad, and meatballs. Everything was great! The wine list is good but it's not as extensive as some of the mountain top restaurants in other places like vail. They had a delicious pinot noir that paired well with the duck and bison. The service is fantastic. It's also nice to have a clean and less crowded restroom on the mountain. It's pretty easy to ski over from Red Lady or teocali. The only bad part is we never figured out how to ski to any other lift from Uley's, you have to go back to red lady which is crowded. It was way to cold to visit the ice bar but it looks awesome! They have a different, kind of more affordable menu.

The ice bar is a one of a kind experience. The most fun mid mountain bar I've ever been too. Lot's of "dude" drinks to try. I saw a couple do too many shots and crested butte ski patrol took them down the Mtn. That's classy!

Fun experience overall. Went here for dinner which included a snowcat-pulled sleigh ride up to the cabin restaurant and back down afterwards. HIGHLY recommend you wear snow pants over your outfit to stay dry and warmer. When you get up to the restaurant you can warm up by the fireplace, then you're seated at your reserved table. They'll bring you wassail and a meat and cheese board to start. Yum! Then they served bread with 3 flavored butters (red wine & paprika: my fave; cinnamon honey; and garlic herb). Next we moved onto a mushroom soup which was very good... even the people I was with that typically don't like mushrooms or mushroom soup ate their entire bowl. Next we had an amuse bouche. This was a strange course for me because 1) in my experience it's served before any other food as a way to excite the palate for what's to come and 2) it means "a little bite" and it's typically 1-2 bites period. But here it was served half-way through the meal and it was the size of a full portion of food. It was some sort of salmon with a cream sauce which no one at our table liked.... and it was so large my friend thought it was supposed to be her entree and she said, "oh sorry, I ordered the steak instead", not realizing it was the amuse bouche. Next came our entrees. My friend pre-ordered the vegetarian option which was a risotto, and my other friend ordered the filet. Both of them really liked their dishes, but I felt mine was best: which was the duck breast, cooked perfectly. I ordered a nice Pinot Noir to compliment it. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake with a vanilla orange homemade ice cream, which my friends devoured but I'm weird and hate orange-flavored foods as well as chocolate, so I didn't eat it. All in all, lovely experience, great service, good food, and a wonderful memory.

We arrived before 4:00 and so we were able to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu which has a wide range of small plates that were enticing enough to make our decisions matters of great deliberation. We started with the chicken confit drummies in Buffalo sauce that were so delicious we had to get a second round. Each portion has three drummies that are perfectly sauced and finger licking good. We followed this with an order of Philly Egg Rolls which are cheese steaks in a wonton wrapper. Ambitious but rather average in the event. The beer battered fries with a curry brat redeemed the moment. The fries are crisp on the outside with creamy centers. The curry brat is sliced and mixed throughout. Excellent. We ordered the Orzo Bowl off the main menu which is a delectable mix of veg, berries, nuts and cheese then finished with the warm brownie sundae. Bruhaus offers a great selection of taps and handcrafted cocktails. We had the Espresso Martini and the Topsy and could not have been more pleased. Service was attentive and the ambiance is mountain cozy. The Bruhaus is a nice venue offering great food and beverages served with a smile.

However, the other night we had a really lovely meal and were luckily seated downstairs, which was very prettily decorated and noise levels not too high. Best thing we had was the whipped ricotta with herbs, fresh and dried apples and, of course, bread. The sage and thyme combo with fruit and light fresh ricotta was so good. So good I forgot to take a photo until we'd wiped the plate clean. Meatballs were also very tasty w a very nice tomato sauce. The burrata served w radishes, beets, citrus and arugula was delicious. The gruyere daily bread was tasty and their honey butter is so good! We over-ate bread, but hey, every course came w bread and it is so good and it is called The Breadery! Thumbs up tho we have yet to have a dessert I would order again. The cannoli were okay but nothing special.

I just love drinks with lavender! Highly recommend, and definitely make a reservation.

We had an important family event and chose this restaurant as our family dinner to celebrate. I mentioned in our reservation that this event was a special occasion and we were sat at a beautiful, intimate table with complementary shots at the end of dinner as a congratulations - We were very grateful for this hospitality. We were disappointed due to the quality of service and food. We felt we hardly saw our server and did not get refills/ service as we had hoped and spent a lot of time waiting. It was a Friday night, however we had a later reservation and the restaurant was not as busy by that time... When our meal came out, it was delivered to our table by another employee and when we said "thank you!" feeling excited to try our food, the person did not make eye contact or even acknowledge anyone at the table...? For dinner we were recommended the ribs and were extremely disappointed. They were so dry and tough and did not end up getting eaten. The chicken was phenomenal but felt that the rest of the sides were subpar. At a minimum of $50 a person, we expected excellent service and food...

I stopped in around 1:15 after making some turns, looking for a beverage, and something for lunch. There were no open tables, and as a single person, the hostess recommended looking for a bar seat (I was very lucky a seat opened). Bar seating is full service. The bartenders were good, friendly, and surprisingly attentive given how crazy busy both the bar, and restaurant were. Some might think it an odd combo, however, I love that one of their lunch options is soup (yesterday was chicken noodle, or chili) and salad. I opted for the chili, and the Caesar salad. Both were really good - the chili was very flavorful and filling, and came with a small toasted brioche roll. The drink menu is a lot of fun - I haven't seen a painkiller on a menu outside of the BVIs - so of course I ordered one. It was very tasty. My second beverage was an Irish coffee, which was also very good. One thing of note - there is no pricing next to any of their beverages, and judging by our bill, are not inexpensive (tip, lunch, with the two beverages mentioned and a blue moon, was $77). The location here is key, and will likely be back when skiing again!

Fearful of what I might find here, as small, resort locales often possess oligopolistic control…read moreover pricing and quality, I ventured through the door at McGill's, a local staple, and ordered the Great American breakfast. The quality of ingredients and preparation were all spot on. Bacon was triple crispy as I requested. Hash browns were made with butter, as I insisted. Eggs were cooked perfectly, neither rubbery nor slimy. Magnificent was the French toast. Served as something resembling a German log roll, it was crispy on the outside, tasty throughout, and yet remained free from being bread-y. I savored every bite of this, a real highlight. You can substitute this for the muffin for a $2 fee or thereabouts. Do that, and you won't be disappointed. Two areas that could be improved: the pancake syrup, and while it tasted fine, was definitely corn syrup based and low quality. I humbly think that the owner could easily charge $1.75 more and offer the real thing. Further, the orange juice wasn't great, acceptable, but far from a real fresh squeezed caliber. The hostess forced me to sit at the bar when tables were open. Fortunately for me, a spectacularly responsive and friendly other server rescued me, provided me a table and provided the utmost in service for a breakfast styled establishment of this ilk. She was also food knowledgeable as her husband and her own one of the truly great restaurants in town, further down the street on Elk Avenue. Pricing was just right. Location is fantastic as well.
