We came to Aspen to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and had the pleasure of dining at Angelo's Restaurant, even without a reservation. The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing! We loved it so much that we came back again for dinner the next night. Everything we tried was exceptional -- truly authentic Italian flavors that made us feel like we were back in Italy. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive to every guest. We were so impressed to see how carefully they reset each table, even ironing the tablecloths after every group -- such a classy world elegance touch. Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Aspen. L'eccellenza italiana in every boccone! Five stars all the way -- this place truly deserves a Michelin star.

Everything was GREAT!! Drinks DELICIOUS! Food, oh take me BACK! Ambiance is BEAUTIFUL! But what really kicked it for us was the kindness they gave my mother in law, who was getting lightheaded from the altitude. Went across the street to get her a little oxygen can and gave it to us free of charge. On top of every other last bit of wonderful usual dinner service. Even the host made a wonderful impression on us, offering to take pictures for the family by the flower walk without prompt! I want to go back back back!!

Buonasera Tonight we dined at the wonderful Casa D'Angelo. We arrived early on a Friday night. They open at 6pm for dinner. We arrived around 6:30pm without reservations. We were fortunate to get the last two seats at the bar, and we were sat right away. I believe all tables were booked for the entire evening. So I felt very blessed and fortunate that we were able to be seated at the bar. We had the hamachi carpaccio. It was prepared in a wonderful apricot sauce. Very tasty. Next we had the Aspen salad. Which was also fantastic. It came with a frozen goat cheese sorbet. I found the frozeness of the goat cheese to be a fascinating aspect of this dish. It makes me think of Aspen in winter because the frozen aspect reminds me of snow. It's beautiful how it melts like snow melting in the spring. The salad featured cranberry, which gave a nice bright zing. All of the ingredients were spectacular together. I highly recommend the Aspen salad, for it is uniquely delicious. Next we indulged with Angelo's mother's pasta. The first one on the list, and for good reason. This was probably my favorite dish of the night. The pasta was homemade and cooked perfectly Al dente. Every aspect of this pasta was so delicious and satisfying. The fresh cheese, the sauce and pasta, everything was perfect! Lastly we had the branzino fish which was wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant. And the service was top notch. A wonderful dining experience with my wife. I definitely recommend it.

Where do I start. I guess it's that this was icing on the cake that Aspen is a $$$$ experience. Everyone inside was dressed so nicely with their lovely coats and cute fashionable outfits. (There is also a coat check for you in the front as well.) We made a reservation the day of for 8:30 pm for 2. Restaurant was definitely very busy and almost a fire hazard imo in the entrance. We arrived a little early, but told we were too early so we waited til the time. Workers were nice but you can tell were a little flustered with so many people. We ordered two pastas and a glass of red wine. I ordered paccheri vodka which was a mix of red and white sauce with sausage and mushrooms. The pasta was cooked Al dente . My boyfriend got a dish off the special daily menu which was a seafood squid ink pasta. Definitely a high price tag at $95 but it did have lots of seafood such as a lobster tail and large shrimp. I enjoyed the food and service, but probably would not come back for a second visit. Definitely felt a little out of place with the atmosphere and a little constricted with the budget. Not sure if the price really matched the food and service.

Not great. Arrived at 4:55pm for a 5pm reservation and was told to stand outside in the snow since they were not open yet. Maybe leave the door locked then? Once we sat down the staff immediately had an attitude. 23% gratuity was included on the check, so they must not have been concerned with their service. Had an attitude about the amount of food we ordered. Had an attitude about the two people at the table who were not ordering cocktails. I asked kindly to not pour any more bottled water but they refused (water was $45 total for 6 of us). Food was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was good and the staff was very prompt with refilling water, clearing plates etc. other than that, left feeling like we should have just gone elsewhere.

Very nice dinner spot. Good customer service. Great recommendations. Upstairs is the dining room. This was maybe one of the larger dining spaces we came across. The cocktails were delicious. It was dimly lit making it a little romantic. It was pricey for sure. Fresh pasta. Specials daily.

Favorite dinner restaurant in Aspen! We came here last year for the first time right after a trip to Amalfi coast. Was very pleasantly surprised to find the pasta tasted almost exactly the same as the pasta we had at our favorite local favorite spot in Ravello. My wife complimented and asked Angelo where he's from. "Positano!" There you go. If you want authentic Italian try the fusilli mamma. The branzino was juicy and flavorful! Our server was never hovering but always available. Drinks were perfect. Beautiful elegant modern design with Mountain Views. This is a must stop when you're in town!

Best restaurant I have ever been to. Amazing atmosphere. You walk up stairs to a coat check into this beautiful restaurant. Although no one greeted us to check us into our reservation they ended up making up for it. We got the best table by the window and wine cellar as requested. Ordered Aqua Panna and two chilled shots of Casamingos Reposado with orange slices. Best chilled shots. Then our server told us the specials and we decided on the lobster ravioli appetizers for each of us. Very delicious and light for an appetizer. But quite the tease. One of the specials was the Dover sole. Ordered as I was in the mood for fish and it was so so so so yummy. They bring it out on the bone then bring it off the bone for your to eat. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. They definitely will be back but probably not because I don't go to aspen. Aspen is a gem filled with many amazing fine dining restaurants.

Thank gf for this place! We were in town from Snowmass on Presidents' Day weekend and my brother confused our reservations at Bosq, so we needed up not having any reservations for dinner. We called almost every restaurant in aspen, and everyone was SO RUDE. Like "Um... it's Presidents' Day weekend we're fully booked". But Heather, at Casa D'Angelo was lovely. She got my number and told me if there was a cancellation she would call me. Within 10min I received a call from her and she got us a table for 4 people! We arrived and we're welcomed so pleasantly, sat at a great table and had wonderful service. What a pleasant experience. We had never heard of this place before but we'll definitely be coming back!

This was amazing! We had dinner here on a Sunday night around 7 pm. Contrary to other reviews we found the food to be authentic and very flavorful! We've traveled to Italy before and have Italian in our family so we were very pleased with this meal. We started with a Buffalo mozzarella appetizer including prosciutto and grilled veggies. We then had the squid ink fettuccini and Pappardelle Ragu' Toscano with braised lamb. Both were superb! We also had some cocktails (Manhattan and chocolate martini) which were on point. We ended the evening with a tiramisu which was excellent and served with gelato. Our server Alex was very attentive and friendly. They also have a Sommelier to assist with wine selection. Their wine selection was very extensive and high quality. We will definitely be back next time we are in Aspen!

Loved the house sale - perfect. Veal parmigiana outstanding. Pasta was good and homemade - simple with red sauce, I would have preferred a different noodle type (maybe provide some options)? - and a zestier sauce. A terrific place with great people, delicious food and perfect experience. Great scene and great bartenders too! - this is a A+, 5-Star place

I appreciated that someone saw that wasn't an ideal setup and moved us before we awkwardly said anything. For the food, the pasta was a highlight for both my wife and myself. I got the fettuccini and my wife the prawn pasta and both were great. The bread was also extremely fresh and olive oil nice and robust. My drink was well balanced. I knew I'd like the place when I saw the negative reviews get a sassy response. I appreciate it having local ownership, and that the owner was also working along with the rest of the staff. To get me to write any letter the experience must be pretty extreme and even more so when you consider the food was great and service (once we sat down) was also excellent. My wife and I got there at about 630 expecting to wait for bar seats for a group of 4. Our friends who play local shows and are regulars at Ellina and know the staff joined us. I checked in with the hostess and just made sure on the bar wait protocol and offered to put our name down and they said first come first serve. There was another couple in front of us and when 2 seats opened up in the corner we told them and they sat down (cause it would obviously be wrong to cut in front of them even though we were closer to the seats). We waited patiently for a good 45 minutes with our 2 friends but were not on top of the hostess station cause it was crowded with traffic (we only were like 5 feet away though even with the middle of the bar). About 10 minutes into our wait a group of 3 walked by us (2 girls and a guy celebrating a bday) to also wait at the bar. I remember them walking in cause they  accidentally bumped into me and apologized on their way to wait right by the host station for bar seats. When finally 2 seats opened up my wife and my friend's wife took the seat and when another 10 minutes went by 3 seats next to them opened up. We went to grab 2/3 seats and then the guy from the party said that's our seats. I told him it's first come first serve and they lied and said we were here first. I mention they walked into us while you were walking in and tried to tell them we were right behind the couple who were seated before us an hour ago (their party wasn't even there for that..that's how long we were waiting). Instead of letting me explain, the manager or owner came over and yells "MY BAR MY RULES" at me and said told the other party to sit down. My friends who are regulars and know the bartender and actually have met the her (Jill??) were also shocked. So we had no choice but to wait a little longer before another few seats opened up. We did end up sitting next to the same party of the 3 and the guy actually apologized to my wife multiple times cause they knew they were in the wrong. They totally lied and got away with it.  Despite the rudeness we spent $450 and appreciate Willy working hard for us but my friends and I don't see any of us going back and supporting the establishment after the way the earlier situation was handled and after an attempt to reach privately still no response. There was so many more mature and professional ways to handle the situation like asking for my explanation or having the host who first saw me vouch for me (I asked her if there was a list to put our name down for the bar trying to be proactive) or ask the other couple that was seated down right before us, or being proactive and implementing a waiting list or maybe offering us or the other party drinks or appetizers) but yelling at a customer and completely being in the wrong was so unbelievable out of pocket. It really ruined the meal for all of us despite objectively good food and drinks and like I said Willy and David were great. Please treat your future customers better than us.
