    Plastic on nachos...
    Paloma G.

Must have been a bad day for staff and management today. Wtf... it's our first time here and I expected somewhat normal service for a busy ski resort. But what the heck!! Plastic in our food, sat next to a trash can at a small table for a party of two for dining in. When we asked to speak to management we were told he was busy and that he would comp our nachos. Okay, great but can We speak to management to let him know the kind of quality of food that the restaurant was putting out?! He's comes out much later and tells us well comp the nachos have a nice day. Wtf really dude?!

We went to a late dinner with boo's parents. We sat outside, and appreciated they turned on some space heaters after the sun set. The service was great. I got the peach mango jicama salad with chicken, and boo got steak tacos. We split a queso, which was more viscous than what's usually served at Mexican restaurants. It wasn't bad, but there are long strings of onions in it that would be better if they were cut up more. My salad was good, but they were a little too heavy on the dressing. The top shelf margaritas were good. Their turbo salt they use to rim seems to have some sugar in it since it's somewhat sweet. Overall, good dinner!

    Shrimp tacos

Really great patio on the mountain! We visited on the third of July and most of the restaurants in the area were closed. The bartender and server were fantastic! We both ordered the shrimp tacos and really enjoyed our meals. The drinks were tasty but expensive as is typical in the mountains. The service was great until the end when we tried to get our check but otherwise it was great! The patio is awesome for hanging near the mountain and they had a great fire pit for warmth and marshmallow roasting.

Cold beer. Best view ever. Cheers!

Awesome atmosphere! Avoid the crowds on elk street during the holidays and sit outside with a beautiful view slope side. Live DJ and fire entertainment. Fire pit and lots of outdoor seating with heaters or indoor seating too. Chips salsa and elote are fantastic. Service was superb. Trout was a treat! Our second visit here took my rating from 5 stars to 1. I think the manager was missing on night 2. A hostess is needed. Staff couldn't figure out how to get us seated at one of the open tables. Or, how to put us on a waiting list. Total chaos. Unfortunately we left to find a better option for dinner, a restaurant where they could seat us.

The Dogwood is a cocktail cabin that is located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. They keep the lights dimmed and have a fun music playlist that creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. The floor creaks as you walk through the cabin and they have cool chandeliers. We were initially told it would be a long wait, but somehow they found a table rather quickly for us. It was cold out, so we appreciated it. The Dogwood has a nice variety of artisanal cocktails on their menu. Our server was very helpful with giving us some options. I didn't have my readers on me and had a hard time reading the menu. So her describing some of the cocktails to me was very helpful. Dogwood has a number of classic drinks, margaritas and martinis. Some of the fun names that I saw were Thor's Hammer, D Cup, Porch Song, Mr. Pink and Beetnik. I ordered the Headhunter and enjoyed my drink. For food, Dogwood has charcuterie-style bites and other light snacks. This was a great find and a nice way to cap off our fun trip to Crested Butte.

The drinks are pricey, but you're really paying for the ambience and care that they put into making each drink. The menus has plenty of options, but you can also order your favorite with your choice of spirits. I opted for a whiskey sour with my beloved Suntory Toki and it was dang good! I initially ordered Suntory Hibiki (a more expensive version of Suntory's whiskey), but I loved that our waitress made sure I saw the price listed for that whiskey was "per ounce"... so my cocktail would have been $50! I very much appreciated that she pointed that out instead of just putting in my order and then me being surprised by the cost! Not a ton of food options, yet they do offer charcuterie plates with your choice of cheeses and meats. We don't go that route, but cocktails and charcuterie would be great for a date night! We took two seats at the bar and were lucky enough to have Tina helping us, she was so friendly and knowledgeable, really a gem. We started with the fiery passion and the rum sour and were impressed by the complexity of flavors in both, the fiery passion was a real winner, with a taste of passionfruit, and the habanero pineapple in the rum really coming through, but not in a overly sweet way, just enough. The chili sugar rim was a unique way to really set it over the top. The rum sour was also delicious, the Demerara, giving it almost a hint of an old-fashioned, but keeping it light and foamy throughout. Such an incredible set of cocktails. I also had the tomato bisque soup, it was so yummy and cheesy, and the staff were nice enough to bring out some local made bread toasted on the side. Then, Tina made us her own special cocktail, a take on a strawberry spicy rum, with an egg white to give it a delicious foamy texture. All the drinks are delicious, and Tina noted that they were the strongest cocktails in the area, with 2 1/2 shots per drink. We were definitely feeling fun and talkative as we were leaving. This place was so upbeat, with games to choose from, but still keeping a refined mountain vibe. We tried to go back again the next day, but had finished earlier and the bar didn't open yet! Bummer. We don't find our way to crested Butte often but next time we are there, it will surely be a stop.

We arrived before 4:00 and so we were able to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu which has a wide range of small plates that were enticing enough to make our decisions matters of great deliberation. We started with the chicken confit drummies in Buffalo sauce that were so delicious we had to get a second round. Each portion has three drummies that are perfectly sauced and finger licking good. We followed this with an order of Philly Egg Rolls which are cheese steaks in a wonton wrapper. Ambitious but rather average in the event. The beer battered fries with a curry brat redeemed the moment. The fries are crisp on the outside with creamy centers. The curry brat is sliced and mixed throughout. Excellent. We ordered the Orzo Bowl off the main menu which is a delectable mix of veg, berries, nuts and cheese then finished with the warm brownie sundae. Bruhaus offers a great selection of taps and handcrafted cocktails. We had the Espresso Martini and the Topsy and could not have been more pleased. Service was attentive and the ambiance is mountain cozy. The Bruhaus is a nice venue offering great food and beverages served with a smile.

I had their mocktail of the moment which was a yuzu Moscow mule. It was delicious and I'd highly recommend. On the food front, Hideout did a grand job. We started with their special loaded kimchi waffle fries. Epic! I love kimchi and everything about this dish was perfect. For entrees, my husband had their Thai Me Up Burger with shoestring fries and was very pleased with it. Cooked as requested and fun flavors. I had their Fried Chicken Sandwich with kimchi pasta salad and while I only ate half due to being filled from waffle fries, it was very tasty. On the whole, I enjoyed the food and drink at The Hideout, but not sure I would return for the atmosphere or recommend for large groups who want to hang out sans distractions. Zero Proof Review: I'm on a quest to check out all the zero proof, mocktail and n/a beverages that Denver and beyond has to offer. The Hideout did not have a very robust selection so I would love to see them expand that, but their seasonal mocktail was one of the best I've had, so kudos for creativity and craft!
