We just happened upon this place because we weren't in the all the touristy BS on Elk street(the Main Street in CB). We were pleasantly surprised. It's a to go place which we don't usually eat at on vacation but our room was around the corner so we tried it. We ordered a sandwich for me and my wife to share and they said I'd be 20 minutes so okay, no problem. We ordered a slice of pizza to share while we were waiting for our sandwich. The pizza was fantastic. Highly recommended and we don't eat pizza. Anyway. If considering it... try it. Pizza crazy good to go to the slopes, fishing or elsewhere. Recommended. read more

Fresh and hot thin crust new york style pizza to go!! $4 for cheese and $4.50 for exotic. Fast and easy. They have a large menu to order from including pizza pies s/m/l, salads, and sandwiches and they even do 3 kinds of breakfast burritos until 11pm. We only were interestedin slices. This is not a sit down establishment. Definitely a grab and go relaxed kind of feel place, but they do have 2 stools if you want to sit for a few. Tiny little shop with only one high top chair but friendly and good thin crust style pizza. They were out of chicken for my sandwich, but no biggie. No shade for tables outside. Parking was right across. Relatively quiet area even with skate park nearby. Would totally come again. read more

We were staying at the Elevation Resort in Mount Crested Butte and wanted some pizza. We ran into the delivery driver the day before who said they were the only pizza place that delivers in CB. On our last day at the hotel we gave them a call, and Luke the delivery driver showed up to deliver our pizza. The pizza was hot and perfect, and we also got salads and a couple of chocolate chip cookies. We did not finish the pizza, so my wife packed up the leftovers to take home. When we got home our son gladly finished our leftovers and loved the pizza. Just know if it is prime time, they may not be able to answer the phone. We called early to avoid the rush. Lol at the info tags calling them "classy." While I would say delicious, family-friendly, and casual fit the description, classy isn't really one of them. It's definitely a locals, takeout only, ski town kind of pizza place. We discovered it walking around town and when we went to rent our cross country skis at the Nordic center. It's definitely off the main drag, but super close to Clark's market. Slices are $3.50 for cheese and they have pepperoni and deluxe. Open 7 days a week, but only evenings on weekends. This location is a walk up and order pizza establishment. I was very happy to eat here twice in one day. The first order was perfect. The dough was NY style very large,tasty, and crispy. I wanted more so after my event in town, I ordered a to-go (large garden salad, pepperoni roll, spinach roll, cheesesteak sandwich, extreme cheesesteak sandwich). I did not receive my entree a large dinner salad. Thankfully my family shared their sandwiches which both were delicious. The pepperoni roll was very doughy. They don't only do pizza, but they also make good salads. Good greens are used and fixings in the salad are plentiful. The service was quick. The pick up was easy, the prices were fair and justified. We came in around noon and we were the only people in there. Ordered some slices for the kids and two sandwiches. Slices came immediately while the sandwiches took thirty minutes to make. Yes thirty. If you're hungry and want solid, good pizza that isn't your average pie, this is the place. We ordered take out after a day of snowshoeing. It's about as low key of a place as it gets. No frills. No dine in. But awesome food and great service. The employees were really helpful a d appreciated our business. They sell huge pieces by the slice (looked like a 24" pizza that the slices came from). But we ordered a huge 18" pizza since we (especially the teenager) was so hungry. The crust is delicious - crisp, thick but not too heavy, fresh, etc. We got half pepperoni and sausage and half chicken (which was quite a bit extra but this isn't your typical chicken on pizza. It was real grilled chicken and you could see it and taste it), green chile (THANK YOU FOR THAT TOPPING), and fresh Buffalo mozzarella in addition to the regular mozzarella cheese that came with the pizza. We also ordered two sandwiches including the chicken parmigiana and those were big hits too. We warmed up the chicken pizza for lunch a few days later and it was still very good. AMAZING SANDWICHES! The meatball was soooo good! Mikey's sauce is delicious! The ratios of cheese, meatballs, and sauce to bread was perfect. It was slightly spicy which I loved. Just a tad. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak. He said the ingredients were great and it was cooked well. We took our meals to-go. They were ready in 15 minutes. Staff was friendly too. I wrote a great review of Mikey's Pizza back in 2021, and at the end of the season, I decided to take slices of my fav Sausage Lady 18er with cream cheese to have for dinner as we camped out at Great Basin National Park on the way back to Berkeley [brought an old baking pan]. We'd always brought chicken or steak and potatoes, but this time, I wanted Mikey's -- I was going to miss this pizza. [yeah, Berkeley is a foodie mecca, but Mikey's thin pizza outshines anything I've had in Berkeley.] Hubby was skeptical, but didn't argue. We got to Great Basin at the end of a hot dry day, and found out that due to wildfire risk, we could not make a fire - first time ever in our decades of camping there. I placed each cool pizza slice on an unfolded napkin on the still hot mineral resin whatever tables, and in 10 minutes they were warm enough to eat. Guess what I'll be bringing next time to Great Basin? We're back for another field season in 2022, and their pizza is as great as I remember it -- we had it for our second night here. Absolutely the best pizza I've had outside of NYC. However in NY I've never had the appetite stimulus that is so plentiful in CB. I'm talking about trails and cycling here... We are stoked that we didn't wait to try Mikey's until later in the trip, because now we can have another awesome pie before leaving paradise. The crust is thin and just a tad sweet. I believe corn meal is used to move the pie from peel to oven and out. It taste of corn meal is very subtle and so well balanced by the sugar(?) in the dough. Thanks Mikey! Quick and easy way to get a slice. Slightly "out of the way" aka not on Elk Ave. However, the slice of pie I had was HUGE, we had two pieces for a mere $7. Tasted just like NYC pizza. We loved the pizza and the salad. We ordered takeout and it was ready when we arrived. My favorite was the Greek pizza. It was flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. The chef salad had high quality, fresh meats. This was our best dining experience when visiting CB. I highly recommend. The service was also very friendly. Oh no Mikey's...you let me down. This place has ALWAYS been thee best and I've always sent everyone that wants pizza your way but I'm rethinking now. Got so sick from the Caesar Salad last week that I relived it (if you know what I mean) for 3 full days. Not some stellar romaine would be my guess. I'm writing this review to counter the completely ridiculous and baffling one-star review written by "K. H.". I live over 3 hours from away from Crested Butte, but Mikey's is my go-to place to eat when the powder leads me here. K. H., not even a severe germaphobe would say the food is good, but leave a one-star review because someone didn't put medical gloves on before serving you a slice. That tells me that you are either a competitor or hold some kind of personal grudge against this gem of a place. I built and ran both a restaurant and a luxury bed & breakfast inn, and I can tell you that yes...this is a grunge joint...but it is in no way grungy. Despite the lack of seating, I go here for the super authentic small mountain town atmosphere and vibe as much as I do for the food. Everything I've eaten here is delicious. I love the ever present ska music and the fact that the young lady in charge has always remembered my name even though I only visit a few times each winter. K. H.: KEEP YOUR OCD TO YOURSELF!
