We were staying at the Elevation Resort in Mount Crested Butte and wanted some pizza. We ran into the delivery driver the day before who said they were the only pizza place that delivers in CB. On our last day at the hotel we gave them a call, and Luke the delivery driver showed up to deliver our pizza. The pizza was hot and perfect, and we also got salads and a couple of chocolate chip cookies. We did not finish the pizza, so my wife packed up the leftovers to take home. When we got home our son gladly finished our leftovers and loved the pizza. Just know if it is prime time, they may not be able to answer the phone. We called early to avoid the rush. This location is a walk up and order pizza establishment. I was very happy to eat here twice in one day. The first order was perfect. The dough was NY style very large,tasty, and crispy. I wanted more so after my event in town, I ordered a to-go (large garden salad, pepperoni roll, spinach roll, cheesesteak sandwich, extreme cheesesteak sandwich). Lol at the info tags calling them "classy." While I would say delicious, family-friendly, and casual fit the description, classy isn't really one of them. It's definitely a locals, takeout only, ski town kind of pizza place. We discovered it walking around town and when we went to rent our cross country skis at the Nordic center. It's definitely off the main drag, but super close to Clark's market. Slices are $3.50 for cheese and they have pepperoni and deluxe. Open 7 days a week, but only evenings on weekends. Thin crust is amazing and I'd highly recommend. Hard to walk by the place and not walk in for a slice bc it smells so good. read more

If you're hungry and want solid, good pizza that isn't your average pie, this is the place. We ordered take out after a day of snowshoeing. It's about as low key of a place as it gets. No frills. No dine in. But awesome food and great service. The employees were really helpful a d appreciated our business. They sell huge pieces by the slice (looked like a 24" pizza that the slices came from). But we ordered a huge 18" pizza since we (especially the teenager) was so hungry. The crust is delicious - crisp, thick but not too heavy, fresh, etc. We got half pepperoni and sausage and half chicken (which was quite a bit extra but this isn't your typical chicken on pizza. It was real grilled chicken and you could see it and taste it), green chile (THANK YOU FOR THAT TOPPING), and fresh Buffalo mozzarella in addition to the regular mozzarella cheese that came with the pizza. We also ordered two sandwiches including the chicken parmigiana and those were big hits too. We warmed up the chicken pizza for lunch a few days later and it was still very good. AMAZING SANDWICHES! The meatball was soooo good! Mikey's sauce is delicious! The ratios of cheese, meatballs, and sauce to bread was perfect. It was slightly spicy which I loved. Just a tad. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak. He said the ingredients were great and it was cooked well. We took our meals to-go. They were ready in 15 minutes. Staff was friendly too. I wrote a great review of Mikey's Pizza back in 2021, and at the end of the season, I decided to take slices of my fav Sausage Lady 18er with cream cheese to have for dinner as we camped out at Great Basin National Park on the way back to Berkeley [brought an old baking pan]. We'd always brought chicken or steak and potatoes, but this time, I wanted Mikey's -- I was going to miss this pizza. [yeah, Berkeley is a foodie mecca, but Mikey's thin pizza outshines anything I've had in Berkeley.] Hubby was skeptical, but didn't argue. We got to Great Basin at the end of a hot dry day, and found out that due to wildfire risk, we could not make a fire - first time ever in our decades of camping there. I placed each cool pizza slice on an unfolded napkin on the still hot mineral resin whatever tables, and in 10 minutes they were warm enough to eat. Guess what I'll be bringing next time to Great Basin? We're back for another field season in 2022, and their pizza is as great as I remember it -- we had it for our second night here. Absolutely the best pizza I've had outside of NYC. However in NY I've never had the appetite stimulus that is so plentiful in CB. I'm talking about trails and cycling here... We are stoked that we didn't wait to try Mikey's until later in the trip, because now we can have another awesome pie before leaving paradise. The crust is thin and just a tad sweet. I believe corn meal is used to move the pie from peel to oven and out. It taste of corn meal is very subtle and so well balanced by the sugar(?) in the dough. Thanks Mikey! I'm writing this review to counter the completely ridiculous and baffling one-star review written by "K. H.". I live over 3 hours from away from Crested Butte, but Mikey's is my go-to place to eat when the powder leads me here. K. H., not even a severe germaphobe would say the food is good, but leave a one-star review because someone didn't put medical gloves on before serving you a slice. That tells me that you are either a competitor or hold some kind of personal grudge against this gem of a place. I built and ran both a restaurant and a luxury bed & breakfast inn, and I can tell you that yes...this is a grunge joint...but it is in no way grungy. Despite the lack of seating, I go here for the super authentic small mountain town atmosphere and vibe as much as I do for the food. Everything I've eaten here is delicious. This is based on service only--can't rate the food because it was never delivered. They took our order, took our money, and then we waited an hour for them to tell us they didn't deliver to our location. When I ordered I had a lengthy conversation with person on phone about exact street name (because two streets have same name in town) and provided them with the address, including zip code. Wasn't alerted to an issue until driver called from other location indicating they had arrived, and we determined they were at wrong address. Driver said they had a few more pizzas to deliver, and they'd "get there when they get there." However, they returned to the restaurant, called back and put the owner on the phone, who let us know they did not deliver to our location and this was our fault (even though I had said 'Road' and NOT 'Avenue' 10x during ordering), and if we wanted our food we could come pick it up. As that was not an option for us, I asked for a refund, to which he replied 'Fine' and hung up on me. Could have been handled so many other ways, but the rudeness and unbothered attitude ensures we won't give them a second chance when in CB, and will advise others to steer clear. read more
