The food portion is super large. But they expect tips when they don't really offer any services. The food quality is ok. And I wouldn't go back again

The Place - The image shows a hanging sign for Grateful Deli attached to the exterior of a brick building. The sign features a colorful illustration of a sandwich and the text 'GRATEFUL DELI' in bold letters. The building has a window with a green frame, and there is another sign below advertising services for a local business. Trees with yellow leaves and a partly cloudy sky are visible in the background, indicating an outdoor setting during fall.

So this time we ordered the Garcia and Bertha and made it over to the park to eat these killer sandwiches. They are as big as a softball and delicious beyond belief. The service as usual was fast even considering how big the line was. I'm talking like 3 minutes of waiting, no time at all right. Having lived nextdoor to the Dead back in The City I can tell you the inside of the Deli is just like the inside of their kitchen. They have all the necessary gear to make you feel like you're hanging with Jerry and the Boys!

When I was living up in Aspen Colorado, I had a job as a arm Security at the courthouse one day. I'm walking down the street and I see Grateful Dead sandwich shop went in there and oh my God those sandwiches are addictive because they are fresh. I mean from the bread to the onions to the meat to the peppers. Everything was delicious. I even got a frequent flyer Car 10 stamps and you get one free so I ended up going there every day. I just bought my sandwich there and buy my chips and soda at the gas station. I think my sandwich was like 1199 but it was good anytime food is good and it's worth worth the price

Always the highlight of my trip to Aspen. As a turkey sandwich fanatic--these guys consistently nail the perfect sandwich!!!!

I was on a trip from work when I stumbled upon the most hipster sandwich spot in Aspen, Colorado. This is not a sandwich place where you're going to sit down and enjoy the sub and watch the butterflies, they call your name, you grab it and you take it to go or you eat it real quick on one of the few tables outside. I saw a lot of bikers and people on their lunch breaks who get it. Compared to other restaurants in the area, this place is a hidden gem because it's not as costly as some of the other restaurants. I was not disappointed in the bread, meat or veggies because it all tasted FRESH. They call your name when your food is order and you can also get a cookie, soda, or chips with your sandwich. It gives off Austin, Texas vibes, so if you're expecting a subway or jimmy johns, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a quick bite on your way to the bookstore next door, hit this place up :)

Unique and delicious subs for a quick, inexpensive meal in Aspen. The inside of the deli is very small and is just for placing orders. There isn't enough room to wait for orders or to dine in. Outside there are a few tables for those that want to eat their sub on the spot. With so many parks nearby it'd be easy to grab your sub and enjoy somewhere else if the deli is too busy. I liked that the menu featured unique sub options. They offer some of the expected options, but most are not the usual options. Any sub can be made into a panini too. If bread isn't your thing they also offer several salads. Picky eaters can build their own. The Shakedown Sub was very good and generously portioned. I liked the combination of turkey, provolone, pesto, mayo, and roasted red peppers. The bread was tasty too. My husband ordered the El Paso as a panini. This was my favorite of the two sandwiches we ordered. The green chilies and chipotle mayo made this unique flavored. Paninis are smaller than subs so order a sub if you want a larger portion.

The cutest little sandwich shop. Such a great selection of delicious sandwiches, really friendly people working there, and extremely reasonable prices.

I stopped in here for a light lunch after a long morning of hiking. I was excited to see their different options as well as their reasonable pricing for the area! I got the Garcia which was really well made and had a lot of filling. The folks inside were really nice and friendly and quick to make the sandwich. I'd definitely recommend a stop in!

a bench in front of a store - The photo captures the front of Grateful Deli in Aspen, Colorado, with a wooden exterior and a shingled roof showing some snow. A large window displays an 'OPEN' sign and various stickers, with a blue Grateful Dead-themed banner hanging inside. To the right, a sign with the deli's name and logo is mounted on the wall. A black metal bench is positioned in front of the window, and a small menu box is attached to the wall near the door. The scene suggests a cozy, local sandwich shop with a relaxed atmosphere.

terrible service. Two sandwiches took 40 minutes. The flow of customers in/out is awful. Find someplace else for lunch.

White House Tavern is a perfect example of Aspen casual done right…read more The restaurant sits in a charming historic house and has such a warm, relaxed energy -- great music, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere. The crispy chicken sandwich is honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Perfectly crispy, juicy, and balanced with just the right amount of heat. The kale salad and fries were also excellent, and everything came out quickly despite how busy the place was. The service was upbeat and welcoming, and the whole experience felt effortless. If you want a fun, laid-back lunch or dinner in Aspen without sacrificing quality, this is absolutely the place.

The service was wonderful, we got our food very quickly, and the ambiance was adorable. A little loud but nothing too crazy. The food itself was fine. We ordered the duo dip, French fries, the French dip, and the chicken sandwich. The guac and the other dip were really good and we loved the chips too. The fries are pretty much what you'd expect, except once they got to room temperature they became super hard and not very edible. My husband said the French dip meat was good and tender, pretty good flavor overall. I had the chicken sandwich which was huge! They split the sandwich into three wedges and I could only finish two. I liked the texture of the chicken was nice and I liked the slaw on it, however, the flavor overall was kind of lacking. I would say it was a bit overhyped. Overall, it was a nice experience for a decent price and I'm glad we went. Would we go back? Probably.
