Amazing flavor on a huge steak.

Great little local butcher shop. Family owned. Amazing selection. Beautiful steaks. Fish, and they do soups and sandwiches as well. Just absolutely top-notch. Could not be happier with the service in the staff. Everybody laughing and smiling. You know it's just an amazing place when you walk in the door.

Usually a good place to get sandwiches. Haven't been in months and the quality has been reduced tremendously. Not only did they give me the wrong soup, but I also found a piece of hair on my sandwich.

Decision making time. I opted for the wasabi caviar. I also bought rattlesnake.Alexforsythe

Fantastic local shop. If you haft to ask you can't afford it. I suggest the pre-done apps

    Famous Meatloaf Sandwich... $9.95
    Amanda J.

I hate to have fallen in the middle on an old established business, but Butcher's Block was just A-Ok for me. I ordered the Famous Meatloaf Sandwich ($9.95) on sourdough bread. The bread was fresh but tasted like Italian bread. I also added lettuce, tomato, and light ketchup, which made the sandwich fall apart. There was a very thin layer of meatloaf so it seemed odd to use bread that could not hold the sandwich together. So while the sandwich almost filled me, it was just not exciting. The help was very nice, although there is no line structure so people just stand everywhere and shout out. Once you get outside with your food, there are some tables and chairs to dine at. There was also a two stool counter inside. All in all, not bad for a quick sandwich but nothing notable.

Split 3 ways and including tax/tip, the bill came out to nearly $40 per person. That being said, the banh mi I got was quite good - packed w/flavor from the kimchi and the sauce; though this is probably the first time i've had a banh mi without any cilantro... The thai coconut soup, though, was a bit of a let down. It had all the right flavors, but was in dire need of some acidity and sweetness. Without that, it was quite one-dimensional. Service was decent. We were seated outside so quite a lot of people around and so it often felt quite cramped. Overall, not bad but there's definitely better out there.

As for a sit-down meal, M&C is not in the forefront of my must come back to anymore. When informed that there'll be a long wait to their charming patio; I made the mistake this evening of taking a table inside for immediate seating. Very slow and unattentive was the service there. So disappointed also I was with my undercooked "rotisserie chicken" and the once beloved brown sugar butter sauce of theirs was sour. When asked if they had changed the recipe, our server replied "it depends on who made it" - really?!? I didn't leave this time with that warm and cozy feeling of being a guest at their place, instead now I was just another customer! cheers!

It's the perfect place for seafood and cocktails after a day on the mountain. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the lobster roll was absolutely outstanding -- buttery, generous, and perfectly balanced. The martinis were excellent, and the service was quick, knowledgeable, and attentive even when the restaurant was packed. Clark's strikes the perfect balance between upscale seafood restaurant and fun social scene. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Aspen.

We ordered some east coast oysters, and two of the varieties had a very unappetizing smell. I have never seen this before. We could tell they were fresh but we couldn't get past it. So unfortunately we only had one type and returned the rest. They were very nice about it but it was a huge bummer. We also had the crab cake and branzino, both were really good, the sides were also all nicely executed. I would come back and give the oysters another try. Don't put paper on the tablecloths, either have white cloths or a nice table you can clean, this is a personal preference obviously.

I go back there today by myself at 2pm and was seated at the bar by the same host. Sat down at the bar the server was Kurt and pushing, which I am use to up here, did not even excuse herself or tell she was leaving. Kind of rude as a server. As I was finishing up I notice people coming 2:37pm, 2:45pm and 2:50pm and the same host that refused to serve us sat every one of them at a table. This was my first time eating this restaurant and after our experience the day before. It is not a good look. I do not think will eat there again. Derrick Poe
