Pizza here was good. This was a cute little spot to stop in the small mountain town before heading to our hostel. They are a little pricey, but that's expected for a small mom and pop shop in a mountain town. The place was PACKED so we knew it had to be good

Margarita

Excellent service, perfectly cooked, crispy crust from top to bottom. However pizza sauce pretty substandard (Sam's club), mozzarella same issue lacks flavor, overall seasoning pretty bland. Both pizzas similar issue. We ordered a margarita, San Luis, and meatball sub. Braised pork very hard to tell it was there in terms of flavor. It's very subtle, eating the pork on its own was decent but short of good. Meatballs on the sub we're okay, sauce again came from concentrate. Bread for the sub great. They've got the dough down well. Price in line with artisan ingredients, this it's not. $85

Bacchanalia Pizza

My husband and I shared: - San Luís Pizza - Bacchanalia Pizza Both of these were fantastic in very different ways. I loved the sweetness of the grapes on the Bacchanalia. It was one of the most unique pizzas I've had. The pork seasoning was delicious on the San Luís. It's a busy place during lunch on the weekends and there is very little indoor seating, so be prepared to eat outside or take it to go.

This place rocks. Lots of pizzas prepared, with fresh ingredients on site. The crust is exceptional and that makes for a very good pizza pie. I came with a large group. We sat out back. There are tables, some with awnings, a patio with tables and tent for dining. Once those fill-up, the restaurant has blankets for you to spread on the ground and have your own "picnic." We order a variety of pizzas, from vegetarian, to full carnivore sausage, pepperoni. The spinach, feta and prosciutto was exceptional. The BBQ pizza was delicious. The shrimp pizza was a bit sweet, but also very tasty. Pizzas are served when ready and promptly. Service was friendly helpful. This is the place to go for pizza in the high country.

Margherita pizza

My family said this could be the best pizza that they have had and we're originally from NY. My husband had a calzone that was huge! It was definitely filled and they didn't skimp on the filling. My sons got the Margherita pizza and really liked it. It is a thinner crust pizza. I ordered the beet salad. It was okay. Definitely not the best salad I've had but good enough. The dressing was realty tasty! We sat outside and that area was really inviting and had amazing views. I recommend stopping here if you're in the area.

I have very vivid memories of this pizza. I ate half of this pizza while I was really hungry then threw ALL of it up a few hours later due to altitude sickness. This is a really popular restaurant in Leadville, although I am not really sure why. Their specialty pizzas didn't really appeal to me, so I made a custom one with the toppings I like. I had Italian sausage, grilled chicken, fresh mushrooms, pineapple, and spinach on my pizza. I got a medium for $25, which seemed really expensive for a pizza, even with it lasting two meals. It tasted okay, and these are toppings I normally really like together, but these flavours were off. The wait time was pretty crazy. We were there at 3pm on a Saturday, and we waited for 45 minutes for our pizzas. I guess I'm used to pizza places being really fast where they add all the toppings and cook it right away in front of you. I will say that I vastly prefer other customizable pizza places that I've been to in terms of both the taste and cost.

Small mini super

As a pizza enthusiast this place immediately caught my eye, but I wasn't sure if I was feeling the vibe of eating inside. After ordering I discovered they have a big beautiful hidden patio out back! The beet salad and mini super were both amazing and the atmosphere out back was phenomenal. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was fairly quiet and laid back. It is a little pricey, but the pies are fairly sized and I saw a lot of people leaving with leftovers. Oh and it was the best pizza I've had in Colorado so far.

Your Yelper Girl checking in! I wanted to write about this GEM of a place I visited in Colorado. We were in the mood for pizza, and of course, I checked out Yelp reviews. We decided to check it out. The place was packed, and you order at the counter--plenty of seating in the backyard. It was a beautiful day with a mountain view. We had a bit of a wait but the pizza was delicious and one def lived up to the hype! Def recommend this pizza place if you're in the area!

We're visiting from out of state for a wedding, and High Mountain Pies came highly recommended. After spending the morning walking around downtown Leadville and shopping, we met up with family here for lunch -- and it did not disappoint! We were greeted right away, handed menus for our party of 7, and given a pitcher of ice water. The spacious back patio was perfect for our group. Once we decided what we wanted, we placed our order at the register. I didn't snap a photo of the salads, but they were fresh and delicious. We had one Caesar and one garden salad with their homemade ranch (so good!). For the table -- and especially the two littles with us -- we ordered garlic bread with tomato sauce, a cheese pizza, a Margherita Nostra, and a carnivore pizza. Truly some of the best pizza we've ever had. The crust was perfect -- thin, crispy, and sturdy enough to handle the generous, flavorful toppings on each pie. If you're in Leadville and love good pizza, definitely add this to your list. Highly recommend!

12 inch mushroom pizza

After a day of hiking, I ate an entire 12-inch mushroom pizza from, and it was great! Service was quick, the small Greek salad I had also ordered was fresh, and the crisp, airy dough had a perfectly balanced crispy to chewiness ratio. Simple, but so yummy, this place will be saved for future hiking visits!

I can't understand why this place got an average of 3 stars. My friend chose but given the yelp…read moreaverage I'd have avoided. The food. We had the lamb and the Rueben. Lamb was excellent, the corned beef in the Rueben was outstanding. My friend thought it was the best corned beef he ever had. The drinks. Great selection of beers. We tried a few. Worth it. The service. From the welcome at the door to the attentiveness in the dining area we were very pleased. The ambiance. A fun saloon experience.

I woke up wanting to cross off something from my Colorado bucket list so I got in my car, drove to…read moreLeadville, and lined up at the Legendary Silver Dollar Saloon! One of Colorado's oldest establishments, sitting high and mighty since 1879 in the highest unincorporated town in the U.S. Riddled with history and famous guests like Molly Brown and Oscar Wilde, this place has stood the test of time for just about 150 years. Everyday: 12pm - 1am Kitchen: 12pm-6pm (Wed-Sat) Kitchen: 12pm-5pm (Sun) The exterior alone looks like a movie set from an old Western. Inside it's a warm and cozy saloon with about 10 bar seats, high tops, booths, and a big back room with most of the seating available for patrons. Pub grub is their specialty, with the additional flare of wild game. They serve cocktails, wine, and have a nice beer menu consisting of local Colorado brews. Bellying up at this bar felt special, and when the bartender handed me some reading material about the bar's history, everything fell into place. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of the food, but the lamb french dip was amazing! I was tossing and turning over what to order, and the bartender, Bobbie, steered me in the right direction saying this was her favorite. The sandwich was rich, cheesy, and unctuous. The bread was great, too. Gimme 10 more for the road! She told to order their famous onion rings and these are definitely noteworthy. When's the last time you ate an onion ring and it bit through cleanly? (think O shape to C shape). I feel like they could've been seasoned more, but the texture was A+. Bobbie, the aforementioned bartender, was awesome and deserves a shoutout. She worked the whole bar throughout my timely stay and was a pleasure to talk to. I love frequenting old establishments. To me, sitting inside and appreciating the history is enough. When you have local beers, great food, and good convos, the ante only ups itself. If you only have time for one stop in Leadville, make it the Silver Dollar Saloon!
