Meat Pizza
Jeffrey L.

This is an amazing wonderful place to gather with friends! Bob and I had the meat pizza which was excellent! My son had the macaroni and cheese, which was delicious! Katrinda had the chicken Parmesan, which was like breaded, cardboard and horrible! Amy had his fantastic salad that looked delicious and I had to hold myself back from reaching across the table! The ambience was wonderful quiet and the service was excellent from the young lady who kept the drinks coming!

Margarita and IPA

Such a great spot for a small mountain town. The pizza menu is diverse and everything we tried was delicious. The salads were fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier options. Service was quick, the patio was a nice bonus, and the margaritas were excellent. It's refreshing to have a local spot that hits the right note--not a dive bar, but not overly fancy either.

Meatball sliders

Really enjoyed our meal here and the entire experience! We were seated as soon as we walked in and the service was great. We enjoyed a local IPA, a huge order of meatballs sliders, the Italian Cobb salad and a mushroom pizza. Portions are large. We couldn't finish all the pizza so boxed it for home. Everything came out super fast and our waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. They have a big screen playing sports but also mellow 80s music played at a comfortable volume. Darts in the back and cool decor touches like a snake plant. Can't wait to come back here! New favorite spot in Leadville!

Best servers ever! :)

This place is great, good food, great, pizza , amazing. Servers, priceless. Best place in Leadville. And look at these amazing servers!

Meat pizza

We stopped in to The Famous for dinner after an afternoon fishing on the beautiful Arkansas river. It is a spacious open pizza place with a lively bar scene and tons of seating. We sat outdoors on the back patio which had a large screen broadcasting MLB All-Star activities. Although the menu stated GF options were available ( perhaps pasta?) by and large GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS WERE LIMITED. I ended up with Italian Cobb salad which was really meat heavy. My husband's pizza was perfect. Service was good!

Shrimp Scampi - a shrimp and a couple of pieces of bread are missing. Couldn't wait to try it!

Calling it a pizza and pasta place does not come close to doing this restaurant justice! It is EXCELLENT and foodies will enjoy it. The spaghetti bolognese is the best that I have had in a while. The shrimp scampi is delicious and the sauce is a thicker consistency so it is perfect for dipping. The blood orange mocktail is delicious. Don't miss The Famous if you are in Leadville!

They aren't very attentive to people walking in. Also there seems to be a lot of standing around. And you kinda get the impression that your bothering them. The food was just ok. It's a new place according to the locals. And they still need to figure out there pizza making

Service was a little questionable but the food and drinks were amazing. I'd visit again. Don't forget your ID in the car!

Mushroom Alfredo
Taco Tina B.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place! The staff are very polite and helpful, the atmosphere is upscale casual. The food itself is quite tasty. If you are a mushroom fan, don't miss out on the mushroom offerings, like the mushroom crostini or the alfredo. Importantly, the cocktails were pretty legit - a lavender lovers paradise. Leadville isn't exactly a foodie town but it is worth stopping in for dinner if you happen to be in the area.

We ordered "My Sisters Margarita" and the "Blood Orange Mocktail" with tequila!

Our second time to the original Broken Compass location, we like visiting both spots when in town…read more It's cool to go where the locals go, and we don't feel too out of place that everyone knows each other, other than us, because there's lots of dogs to pet while we're there. Drink beer and pet dogs is a very fitting slogan for this place. Wanting to try some different beers tonight, we had quite the flight: 1 - American Dream Cream Ale 2 - Irish Red 3 - Mexican Lager 4 - Ginger Pale Ale 5 - Fruit Ninja Blonde 8 - Lostoberfest Marzen 10 - Mangy Moose Spruce Tip Pale Ale My two favorites were the Cream Ale and the Marzen. Following the flight, I enjoyed a pint of the Cream Ale. My wife liked the Marzen and the Mangy Moose the best, and she enjoyed two pints of the Marzen. Employees and customers are all very friendly. A definite stop when we're in Breckenridge.

We fell in love with their original location years ago. Their beer is fantastic. The service and atmosphere, though, is what keeps us coming back. The Broken Compass team works at both locations. Claire was our favorite team member but everyone on the team does a great job at inviting you to feel welcome. They're amazing. My favorite beer is their coconut porter. It has a hint of fresh coconut and is a lighter side of porter, not too syrupy. It's well balanced and might I dare say--it's perfect. That said, I haven't had a beer here that I didn't like. They have a great layout at the original location, though you wouldn't think it being in a commercial warehouse. There's a big garage door that opens in the back to outdoor seating. There's this amazing mural in the back of the building. The crowd there all seem to know each other which I am amazed at each time we visit. It's a more local vibe at the original location than the more touristy accessible location on Main Street. The original location has a super cozy vibe, lots of board games (or bring your own). It's a great place to hangout for a few hours. They also have a shuttle that takes patrons back to Main Street. Just call or ask the crew for more details. Again, favorite brewery in Breck. Thanks Claire and team! September 2024

The gentleman serving us was friendly and also very diligent about checking ID's for every person that came in. 2-Mile Brewing Company was very clean, well decorated and seemed like a popular spot seeing that it became busier as we were leaving. We've driven through Leadville countless times and always said we should stop here; we were in town for the weekend so finally got to make it out here. I got a Maibock and my husband got the Camp Hale Pale Ale. To be fair, I tend to like funkier beers, but the maibock fell a little flat for me. There were also only 6 beers on tap, which would make me think more time to perfect a few beers but I didn't care for either beer. We went on a Saturday night and there were a few groups when we entered, but by the time we left around 7PM, we were the last group in there. The bartender was very nice and amicable, even took a picture of our group in our new Melly's. The kindness of the bartender is bumping the review up to a 4 but unfortunately it was 3 star beer for us.

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.
