Breakfast buffet is fantastic, but the dinner is absolutely awful. After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant to try this place out, but since I was staying in the Grand Lodge Hotel anyway, I decided to try it out since it was practically blizzard-ing outside & I couldn't go anywhere else. I ordered a burger with fries; pretty basic and in my mind I felt it would have been hard to mess it up. It took forever for us to get our order even though the place wasn't busy at all, and then when the food came out, my fears were confirmed. The fries were saturated in grease, stale and un-edible. My burger had a pretzel bun- which I was excited for until it came out hard as a rock. The patty on my burger was probably the only edible part; but it seemed like a typical frozen patty that you would get at your local grocery store. My advice: if you can, go somewhere else for dinner. Also, the breakfast buffet is the exact same every day, so if you're looking for variety, head into town to check out the fantastic local places. read more

If I could give no stars or minus stars to this restaurant, I would. We chose this 'restaurant" for convenience and now wish we had not. We arrived for the buffet at 8:30, which one would think would be peak hours, especially during a holiday weekend, and yet, the restaurant was practically empty. We were seated at a tiny two-top by the water station, and when we asked for a nicer table, the surly millennial seated us at another two-top on the other side of the water station. And--that was the highlight of our breakfast. Although we learned later that the restaurant offered custom omelets in addition to the buffet, our server made no mention of this and just pointed to the buffet area, which featured faux scrambled "eggs," shoe leather-tough bacon, elk (?) sausage, French toast--and everything was absolutely ice cold. Even our first cup of coffee was stale and lukewarm. Our server "checked in" before we took our first bites, but then did not reappear until he came back to present the bill. We told him our breakfasts were cold, and his solution was to serve me some of the same eggs 'from the kitchen," but there were no options to get other hot, fresh items. "All we have is what's out," he replied, as if he worked at Walmart instead of an expensive ski resort. I was able to flag down his colleague, who was sympathetic and told me that "he'd comp our breakfast because their goal was customer satisfaction," but several minutes later, our own server reappeared, told us he had offered me different eggs, which I refused, and that "we ate the breakfast." (I didn't, but my husband was tired of waiting and forced down his cold breakfast.) In a decidedly arrogant tone, he declared, "It's our policy not to refund food that you've eaten." Good to know, as we will not be returning. So, heads-up to the Ski Crested Butte organization and the Lodge at Mountainner Square: We both work for large, professional organizations and we always share our good and bad experiences with our friends and colleagues. If word-of-mouth is at all relevant to your organization, consider your organization rebuked. read more

My friend and I were delighted when we realized this place was open fro breakfast! We were staying in the hotel and wandered down after a night of drinking, hoping that we didn't have to take the shuttle into town to find some breakfast! This place offers a buffet style breakfast which is all you can eat for $9:50, not too bad. They had runny scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, bread for toast, oatmeal, pancakes, fruit and yogurt. It was a nice selection, but it was definitely your typical buffet breakfast- not that great! The coffee tasted super cheap and the service was slow (we waited forever to have our bill brought to us). What it lacks in flavor and service, it makes up for in convenience! read more

So this review is a bit biased because we went to this restaurant in our lodge on New Year's Eve after the fireworks show. Unfortunately, so did 1000 other people. There were only two servers for the whole restaurant! And it filled up immediately. But our server was so sweet and actually handled it well. My husband went to the bar to get us drinks while we waited for about 30 minutes to order. The mozzarella sticks had no cheese in them. The bbq chicken pizza was actually really good. Wine list is not great. I feel like this bar/restaurant could really be good and is busy a lot of the time. Very kid friendly and just a walk down the hall were the definite perks. I would probably go for pizza again despite the bad mozz sticks and delay in taking our order. read more

Typical lodging restaurant fare. Was just fine for tired travelers coming into town after a 4.5 hour drive. My burger was a little bland, but i didn't mind. And it was inexpensive and quick. Nothing remarkable about the meals for my family members either. Don't expect much, and you will be fine. You won't pay much either, so there's that. And there's a nice pool table to distract as well. Sometimes that's all you need. read more

Pretty much just a convenience store due to COVID. Bare minimum for breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, juices) and luck of the draw if they have any burritos or sandwiches made. My fiance and I came here for dinner and it was fabulous. The service was quick and always there when we needed it. Jenny was our waitress and it was some of the best service we have had in a long time. For the amount we spent on food, the quality was fantastic. We had the NY strip steak, the Greens salad and the tomato and bean soup. The greens in the salad were wilted abs consisted mostly of iceberg and bib lettuce. I expected fresher green and more exotic varieties. The manager asked how the dinner was. I told him the greens were wilted. He asked "but hopefully it was still edible", which I confirmed it was. Surprisingly, he gave us no discount! Our bill came to $83 for the food, two glasses of wine and two kids pizzas! I felt it was only slightly above Denny's quality. Five stars for comfort food may seem like a lot but we walked in from full day of skiing with 4 tired kids and 2 adults. We were seated right away, menu had the basics for everyone, reasonably priced wine for parents. Kids grabbed board games from the lobby and we played real games ( no iPads iPods etc) whole family could have fun. read more

This is the restaurant in the Grand Lodge. The breakfast is good but needs a little variety. Gets kind of old after a week of the same thing. The weird part of this place are the hours. In the evening they are open from 5 pm til 9 pm. Are you kidding? The mountain closes at 4 with most people done skiing around 3 or 3:30 pm. Have they never heard of après ski? Really strange. Forget having a drink in the bar after dinner it's closed. The other problem is s sewer smell. 4 or 5 of the nights we were here when you walked by around dinner time there was a really strong sewer smell. Who would eat there I that stench. On the plus side the staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

They had to comp the meal because the server set it down and immediately looked and me and said "Oh my gosh" and I said yeah, "who could eat this". I tried again for dinner and had the ravioli. It was some dry crispy pieces of "duck" that tasted like hot dogs and were the size of bagel crisps thrown to the side of three raviolis in a 2 inch soup broth of marsala sauce that ...was not marsala sauce. This is one of the worst breakfasts I've had in a long time. My husband and I laugh about it because that's all you can do. Even the coffee was awful. It reminds me of traveling with my parents as a child and being forced to eat the gross trans fat loaded donuts and overly sweetened orange juice the motels we stayed at served for free. read more
