Great ambiance but was absolutely taken advantage of here. Our server, after asking if it was our first time in, advised us that the menu is FAMILY STYLE. Do not be fooled like we were and order the set menu as If you were just sharing between everyone. We all had tiny bites of everything but left hungry with a huge bill. I've never been so angry after seeing our check that we paid for the whole menu and 20% tip included..... won't be back here and this is the first time I've been so let down to write a scathing yelp review. The Dogwood is a cocktail cabin that is located in the heart of downtown Crested Butte. They keep the lights dimmed and have a fun music playlist that creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. The floor creaks as you walk through the cabin and they have cool chandeliers. We were initially told it would be a long wait, but somehow they found a table rather quickly for us. It was cold out, so we appreciated it. The Dogwood has a nice variety of artisanal cocktails on their menu. Our server was very helpful with giving us some options. I didn't have my readers on me and had a hard time reading the menu. So her describing some of the cocktails to me was very helpful. Dogwood has a number of classic drinks, margaritas and martinis. Some of the fun names that I saw were Thor's Hammer, D Cup, Porch Song, Mr. Pink and Beetnik. I ordered the Headhunter and enjoyed my drink. For food, Dogwood has charcuterie-style bites and other light snacks. This was a great find and a nice way to cap off our fun trip to Crested Butte.

The drinks are pricey, but you're really paying for the ambience and care that they put into making each drink. The menus has plenty of options, but you can also order your favorite with your choice of spirits. I opted for a whiskey sour with my beloved Suntory Toki and it was dang good! I initially ordered Suntory Hibiki (a more expensive version of Suntory's whiskey), but I loved that our waitress made sure I saw the price listed for that whiskey was "per ounce"... so my cocktail would have been $50! I very much appreciated that she pointed that out instead of just putting in my order and then me being surprised by the cost! Not a ton of food options, yet they do offer charcuterie plates with your choice of cheeses and meats. We don't go that route, but cocktails and charcuterie would be great for a date night! The corn dogs were slightly burnt (in our opinion) but the flavor was very good, we would order again. However I think the chips are a miss....just serve them without them and charge a little less in my opinion, they aren't needed. We liked both sauces. The potatoes we originally ordered with the fried egg but the server forgot (she was very apologetic) and got one out to us after a few mins. The egg honestly did nothing to the dish. We wish the potatoes were crispier for sure but the garlic aoli was good. However, we prob wouldn't order it again. The masa cakes were good, I would order again but nothing mind blowing. Overall it was just ok. I think what kind of set our decision to probably not return is the fact that a table near us had asked the server something (we aren't exactly sure what) and she took their dish back and then proceeded to talk crap about them in the server/kitchen area. My husband said the table didn't hear her but I don't know how they didn't as she was talking very loudly about how "my tables are so annoying today! The things people ask for are crazy" (etc) and it made me really uncomfortable. I used to be a server and can understand frustrations with customers but it was unprofessional to talk crap about them when other customers can hear.

Well Kate took care of us and it was clear she has thought through the menu. We enjoyed the marinated goat cheese and the zucchini blossom cakes as well as the unique take on chili relleno (with nasturtium!) before diving into the grilled octopus that rivaled the same dish we've had many times in in Portugal. Impeccable service and a creative cocktail menu rounded out the evening. Highly recommend!

We ordered a hamburger with a side of sweet potato fries (note I'm not a big fries eater, but the burger and fries were truly delicious). The burger was cooked to perfection, the slices of tomato were juicy and ripe and the fries were crispy with a creamy interior. We ordered a slice of the peach pie for dessert. The huge slice was topped with a crumble, side of whipped cream, along with small balls (molecular process?) of juicy peach balls. We came on the early side for happy hour (2 specialty drinks for the price of one- 9.00) two sangria flavors (green apple or peach)...whilst a tad sweet, we're good. The peach is less sweet than the green apple. If there are two of you ordering, order one per person and you can return for your second one even after happy hour ends.

We opted for the more informal setting of the Tapestry experience over Caroline's. We're staying at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade this week and thoroughly enjoying our stay! The breakfasts each morning offer a variety of delicious breakfast options. The wine tasting at 5pm offers up two delicious choices from a local winery. And tonight's dinner was exceptional. I ordered from the Tapestry menu. My burger on a gluten free bun was phenomenal!!! My husband ordered the New York Strip off Caroline's menu, and he thought it was quite good. The ambience of this room is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend dining here! Our server, Juan, was also really attentive and helpful. Tonight was a 5 star experience!

It was very distracting and why I can't give 5 stars. Service was great - our server was attentive and all employees shared in clearing plates which I always like to see. Nothing really stood out to me as far as decor goes - if there was anything cool it was overshadowed by the tvs. For drinks, my husband had an old fashioned which was good but not out of the park. I had their mocktail of the moment which was a yuzu Moscow mule. It was delicious and I'd highly recommend. On the food front, Hideout did a grand job. We started with their special loaded kimchi waffle fries. Epic! I love kimchi and everything about this dish was perfect. For entrees, my husband had their Thai Me Up Burger with shoestring fries and was very pleased with it. Cooked as requested and fun flavors. I had their Fried Chicken Sandwich with kimchi pasta salad and while I only ate half due to being filled from waffle fries, it was very tasty. On the whole, I enjoyed the food and drink at The Hideout, but not sure I would return for the atmosphere or recommend for large groups who want to hang out sans distractions. Zero Proof Review: I'm on a quest to check out all the zero proof, mocktail and n/a beverages that Denver and beyond has to offer. The Hideout did not have a very robust selection so I would love to see them expand that, but their seasonal mocktail was one of the best I've had, so kudos for creativity and craft!
