This place was okay. I understand that CB has limited restaurants and I was excited for a smoothie. The smoothie definitely was okay, at best for $11. It was thin and the flavor was okay. There were minimal add in options. The other thing that I was not a fan of was that many of the smoothies had juice as an ingredient. I like smoothies made with Whole Foods. Preferably the whole fruit versus juice then you're losing the fiber. They do not have a vegan protein add in option. The menu in the location had less than was shown online. Local and organic when they can be, the place has a laidback, hippie vibe and I mean that in the best possible way. I had the Honeycutt sandwich and it was terrific. My partner has the grilled cheese with tomato pesto and pronounced it "crispy and cheesy, as promised. The pesto added good flavor and a nice tang." A small amount of outdoor seating in front of the restaurant allows for excellent people watching. Service was quick and friendly. We also ordered the blueberry muffin and it was so fresh and great with the crumble on top. Causal seating and very friendly staff. Would not get the chai. Asked for a chai latte and not sure if she didn't hear correctly but made the latte with water and it tasted like medicine. Wasn't able to get it fixed since I left town. Love the vibe here, it's very relaxed and unpretentious. I wish I would have gotten the tall guy's name who helped us at the main counter. Crested Butte has a lot of cafes for such a small place and they all have something nice to offer. For me this was the one I felt least moved to spend time in and so I only visited once but my friend liked it the most and visited daily. The bulletin board of local flyers was fun to read and made it clear this place is rooted in the local community. They have a small space for musical performances and a large space for seating. However, they don't have Wi-Fi and so it didn't seem like a space which welcomed laptop workers. They only had one non-coffee late option which was a mediocre chai. read more

I want to start by saying that the service was fantastic. The two women who took our orders and prepared our food couldn't have been more welcoming and kind, as was my experience in most CB establishments. However, the food here was very disappointing. This is pretty much the only spot in Crested Butte where one can enjoy healthy salads, sandwiches, and smoothies, so we were excited to try it. We ordered the salad of the day, a chicken sandwich, and the "purple haze" and "dancing queen" smoothies. To start, the smoothies were lukewarm (even fresh out of the blender) so neither smoothie was very refreshing. They were both very bland despite the claim that they contained several fruits and protein powder- made me question the quality/source of the fruit. So too, these 12 oz smoothies were $11 apiece- I wouldn't mind paying if it was a high quality smoothie (such as those produced by the "clean juice" chain) but this felt like a scam! The chicken on both the sandwich and the salad was rubbery, clearly straight from a package, and the veggies on the salad were not at all fresh. I am sad writing this review, but other travelers should be aware of the food quality since this place is so expensive! There is definitely a market for health food restaurants in CB given the recent uptick in wealthy landowners there- I hope this establishment can be more successful in the future by sourcing their products from the local farmers market or another trusted source. I got an iced latte and pumpkin bread. Both were great and fairly priced! My boyfriend got a cold brew which the filled the the brim with ice and was unfairly priced/did not taste like a good cold brew. So I would not recommend that. Fresh juice, a variety of smoothies, coffee drinks and deserts, sandwiches, and salads! oh my! we were going to go a local pizza shop we had been told was fantastic. They were not open yet, but the owner who is also vegan recommended this shop and it did not disappoint! A plethora of choices! Fair prices! lovely atmosphere! I ordered a salad and a smoothie and just loved it! my friend ordered a reuben sandwich and she also thought it was fantastic! The staff was friendly and patient. It took us awhile to decide what we wanted. The food was prepared quickly and brought out to the table. I had quite the bad experience here. My wife and I went there for breakfast while waiting to meet some friends. We ordered breakfast and coffee and sat down. I opened my laptop to do some work while we waited for the food. A staff member came over (presumably the manager or proprietor) and asked if she could help me with anything. I said, "no, but thank you." Without skipping a beat she said, "This is not an internet cafe. People eat things here and pay for them." I was totally caught off guard and told her that we had already ordered (and paid for) something and were just waiting for it. She said, "oh, ok" and immediately walked away. I can't even wrap my head around how a place with such disgustingly rude staff manages to get business. The women working here, especially the one working the register, were so rude to us. They were repeatedly screaming my name and acting frustrated when I didn't pick up an order of 5 drinks all at once...I only have so many hands and they acted like complete assholes when I asked if they could modify a breakfast order so I decided to not even eat. I was in there on Tuesday, July 12th around 11:30am with my daughter. While we waited in line to order an $11 smoothie, one of the employees put a smoothie that someone had ordered on the bar. She said it was a "Blueberry creamer". After we ordered the Purple Haze smoothie from the cashier, we waited for over 1/2 an hour for the smoothie. Finally, one of the employees called out "Purple Haze" and as I was getting up out of my chair to get it, someone who was in line behind us when we ordered grabbed it. I mentioned I thought it was ours as we ordered one before them but they had already taken a drink so I said to the cashier who took our order "we will wait for another one." The cashier proceeded to take the Blueberry Creamer smoothie that had been sitting at the end of the bar that no one took, and dump it back into the blender, added milk and tried to re-serve it to me and pass it off as a "Purple Haze." I mentioned to her that I saw that smoothie at the end of the bar before my daughter and I ever even ordered and then instead of apologizing and making it right by making us the smoothie we ordered, she tried arguing with me by saying "what's the big deal?" My daughter is lactose intolerant and I had no idea what was in that smoothie. Beside that, she was recycling a smoothie that someone else ordered but never came up and took! I was blown away! Before I made a scene I picked up my things and left. I tried calling the store for several days afterwards to talk to the manager but no one has answered the phones. When we walked in there was surprisingly no line (one person had just finished ordering) but shortly after there were several more people walking in, most of which the staff greeted as friends, so we figured this was a local hotspot.
