What a find! We were road tripping through the area on our way to Boulder and found this excellent little local food truck. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Super friendly service and very accommodating for my no dairy requirements. I had the veggie burger, which was probably the best veggie burger I've ever had. This thing was so fresh tasting, there's no way it was prepared from being frozen. Full of quinoa, corn, etc. super duper delicious remoulade on a really good gourmet bun. Of course, I forgot to take a pic, but, I did manage to document my eating mates selections. See those pics - albeit, half eaten. Upgrade your order to the sweet potato tots, don't even hesitate, they're healthy and come with a mustard seed aioli sauce that makes the whole meal 360 degrees of scrumptiousness. I wish I had room in my pie hole for the donut ice cream sandwich - my only regret. Go off your intended route to try this place. McDonald's and Taco Bell don't need you. There's lovely tables and chairs under the trees that are clean and stocked with napkins and hand sanitizer. A really nice break in our trip! read more

Great find! Stopped by here while camping in the area. I'm with my pups so an outdoor seating area at a food truck sounded perfect. They have a nice sized patio area with about 7 spaced out tables and a couple of chairs for the to go orders. There is a huge pine tree for shade as well. Simple menu written on a chalk board because it varies daily. The prices seem appropriate for a quality food truck and for the area as well. I was already debating the Philly or the shrimp poboy depending on what they had and it turned out to be the poboy. Order didn't take long and then my huge sandwich arrived. It came with a small bag of chips, but the sandwich itself is huge and loaded. The sandwich is on a soft hogie rather than the traditional french type of bread, but it's delicious and fresh . The shrimp (plump, perfectly cooked and plenty) is in a kind of dark cajun remoulade mixed with bacon and sauteed onions with multi colored bell peppers. Oh, and it has lettuce so you don't feel bad about eating it all in one sitting! :) Overall, I loved it! Bursting with flavor in every bite! Felt more like a Cajun shrimp Philly minus the cheese. Only if I was to be the one to name it of course! There is no such thing as a shrimp Philly though...yet! Oh, and ask for a fork or to have them cut it in half or you will be using way more napkins than necessary! ;-) Met Kevin, ones of the owners and he was very nice and easy to talk to. We had Burnells cater our wedding in Crested Butte and they were AMAZING!! The food was delicious and Denise & Kevin couldn't have been better to work with. Everything they did exceeded my expectations and actually made wedding planning easier! We love mexican food and they nailed the menu. Our appetizers were ceviche served in shot glasses with tiny forks (Denise's idea, not mine!) with empenadas. The presentation was wonderful. For the main course, we had flank steak, chicken tinga and veggie tacos with every possible topping you could ever want! The dessert was a fresh peach cobbler which one guest said was the "best wedding dessert I've ever had." They made some gluten free as well to accomodate allergies. Talk about a little 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery, Burnell's is just a food truck (almost in an alley) with picnic tables surrounding it. We wanted a light lunch since we planned to have a large dinner later, so we ordered Burnell's mixed salad. It was terrific with vegetables (cucumber, tomatoes, etc.), sliced almonds, chunks of brie cheese, and deep red strawberries. (Yum!) My wife raved over it, and I almost did. One type of lettuce included was arugula. (Not my favorite.) But there wasn't much of it, and the rest of the salad was so wonderful that I ate everything (arugula and all). Afterwards, we learned from the chef that we could order the salad without arugula. (I'll do that for sure the next time.) read more

We had the great pleasure of working with Denise and Kevin, owners of Burnell's, when they catered our daughter's wedding. Planning an event like this from out of state (the wedding was in Crested Butte and we live in Ohio) had plenty of challenges. In times like that, people like Denise and Kevin are invaluable. They exceeded our highest expectations in every way. They were not only helpful, flexible and professional but also wise, generous and excellent in their craft. They worked hard to honor our daughter's wishes while providing guidance and direction that come only from years of experience. The end result was stunning. The appetizers (elk chorizo mushrooms, chicken and waffles with raspberry sauce, shrimp and grits and charcuterie boards) were not only delicious but created a buzz of excitement and anticipation among the guests. The main course took it to whole other level. The chicken breast with peach sauce and sous vide beef tenderloin were nothing short of amazing. The sides (fresh salad, warm rolls with homemade parsley honey butter, crispy smashed potatoes and broccolini) complimented the main dishes perfectly. After planning this event for almost two years and having people travel from great distances to celebrate with us, it was wonderful to have so many guests make a special effort to comment on how excellent dinner was! It's a food truck with lots of outdoor seating. What a brilliant idea! We passed by here on our way back to Denver from Crested Butte. They were open the morning of July 4th, serving their full breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered the 1/2 portion of the stuffed french toast with a side of bacon, and my partner ordered the huevos rancheros with elk. I should have ordered the full size because I was rather hungry, and it was super scrumptious, with cream cheese, strawberries, and blueberries stuffed inside the french toast. The bacon was perfectly crunchy, but not overdone. I tried a bite of the huevos rancheros and that was really darn good - apparently, it's one of the most popular dishes, and I understand why! It's a great choice if you're in a savory breakfast mood. There were a couple other breakfast spots/cafes on Main Street, but I'm glad we picked this one. Can not recommend enough. This little food truck was set up where they had socially distanced tables all around the lawn, lots of markers keeping people where they needed to be safely. Menus all disinfected after touching. Super sweet workers, lot of customers. Now. The food. I ordered the cheesy bacon grits. I had no idea what to expect. But when they came out I could immediately tell it was about to blow my mind. You know how everyone's favorite cheese is the crispy baked kind? Well the entire plate had a layer of crispy cheese under the rest of the dish. Thick chunks of bacon. Flavor rich green chili sauce. She offered some hot sauce which I normally would have wanted, but it had so much flavor packed in that it wasn't necessary. We stopped in for lunch today, so good. I had read about it and had heard it was a tasty food truck. The truck has a nice lot,and atmosphere is really cute. The friendly owners are serving a really tasty brunch, lunch menu. I had the sweet potato bowl with a poached egg. So tasty, a party in the mouth, greens, black beans, sweet potatoes and a delicious verde salsa. My husband had the shrimp and bacon po boy, he loved it, had a nice amount of sautéed peppers and onions. We will be going back. The only thing missing is a beer garten!!!! Denise and her staff went beyond what we expected in catering our daughter's wedding with her food truck. The food was delicious including barbecue which ,being from North Carolina I am very fond of and particular about. I can honestly say it was as good as I have ever had in N.C. or elsewhere. I was uncertain about Mac and cheese with lobster but it turned out to be delicious and a new culinary treat for my wife and I. We were driving through to Ouray and stopped for a quick bite. We sat outside and the seats were socially distanced. There were six of us and we each ordered something different. Everything was a five star. I'm not kidding. Sweet potato tater tots were worth the extra. My ten year old even loved their super cheesy grilled cheese. Shrimp and grits won over my 12 year old.
