What a find! We were road tripping through the area on our way to Boulder and found this excellent…read morelittle local food truck. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Super friendly service and very accommodating for my no dairy requirements. I had the veggie burger, which was probably the best veggie burger I've ever had. This thing was so fresh tasting, there's no way it was prepared from being frozen. Full of quinoa, corn, etc. super duper delicious remoulade on a really good gourmet bun. Of course, I forgot to take a pic, but, I did manage to document my eating mates selections. See those pics - albeit, half eaten. Upgrade your order to the sweet potato tots, don't even hesitate, they're healthy and come with a mustard seed aioli sauce that makes the whole meal 360 degrees of scrumptiousness. I wish I had room in my pie hole for the donut ice cream sandwich - my only regret. Go off your intended route to try this place. McDonald's and Taco Bell don't need you. There's lovely tables and chairs under the trees that are clean and stocked with napkins and hand sanitizer. A really nice break in our trip!

Great find! Stopped by here while camping in the area. I'm with my pups so an outdoor seating area…read moreat a food truck sounded perfect. They have a nice sized patio area with about 7 spaced out tables and a couple of chairs for the to go orders. There is a huge pine tree for shade as well. Simple menu written on a chalk board because it varies daily. The prices seem appropriate for a quality food truck and for the area as well. I was already debating the Philly or the shrimp poboy depending on what they had and it turned out to be the poboy. Order didn't take long and then my huge sandwich arrived. It came with a small bag of chips, but the sandwich itself is huge and loaded. The sandwich is on a soft hogie rather than the traditional french type of bread, but it's delicious and fresh . The shrimp (plump, perfectly cooked and plenty) is in a kind of dark cajun remoulade mixed with bacon and sauteed onions with multi colored bell peppers. Oh, and it has lettuce so you don't feel bad about eating it all in one sitting! :) Overall, I loved it! Bursting with flavor in every bite! Felt more like a Cajun shrimp Philly minus the cheese. Only if I was to be the one to name it of course! There is no such thing as a shrimp Philly though...yet! Oh, and ask for a fork or to have them cut it in half or you will be using way more napkins than necessary! ;-) Met Kevin, ones of the owners and he was very nice and easy to talk to. Nice place to stop if you are passing through or if you are a local, what are you waiting for!? Try them out before they go on their winter vacation! :) Or just make sure you try them out when you get a chance. They'll be back. I hope!

Great food, great service! Sat at the bar and Drew the bartender was friendly and helpfulread more

While this restaurant may seem very unassuming from the outside, I promise, when you step inside,…read moreyou won't be disappointed. One of my favorite features is Ramen Wednesdays. More recently, we sat at the bar last week to enjoy both happy hour, and the ramen menu. The bartender was great, and checked in with us regularly. We started with a small plate of the bistro fries - which comes covered in Truffle Oil, Herbs de Provence, and Parmesan Cheese - they're super good, and would say better than a certain CB restaurant's crack fries. The small order was plenty for the three of us to share. For drinks, we started with wine, beer, and I had a mojito. The mojito wasn't my favorite - for some reason, it was really sweet. Second drink was a glass of Sauvignon blanc, which went well with the ramen. On to the ramen - I went with the Boo-Tan-E-Koo Pork broth, traditional wavy noodles, pork belly, poached egg, tempura, green onion, buttered sweet corn, chile thread, fresh ginger, sesame seeds. It was delicious, flavorful, and I couldn't get through the whole bowl (I took about half of it home). That was my first time taking ramen home, and would note it heated up nicely for lunch the next day. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

Enjoyed dinner here on a recent Saturday night. We were seated promptly in a busy dining room…read more Took that as a good sign as the place was full. Our waiter took the drink order and discussed the menu. We ordered Philly cheesesteak with a pasta salad along with 4-cheese ravioli and a garden salad. Both meals were excellent. We ate everything! Price was reasonable. Service was excellent. Place was busy but we never felt slow service. Our table was a booth so it offered more privacy and quieter dining. All went well. If we are back in Gunnison we will certainly stop here again. Thanks!

We wanted to take a break on a long drive, so we sat down inside. We got lucky--no line. Our server was quick to greet us and brought cokes in big glasses with crushed ice. Yes. While we waited on food, I looked around and soaked in the vibe. This is a local's place in the purest sense, but has always felt welcoming, no matter where I'm living. Pizza--and buttered spaghetti w meatball for the younger diner--arrived quickly enough and we dug in. Mario's pizza stands out as "normal" pizza with every ingredient and flavor on point. You'll have to drive a long way to find any on par with Mario's pies. They're in my top three Colorado mountain town pizza joints and I've been to my fair share. The meatball from the kids' spaghetti was moist and tasty--good, not great. Five stars for simple excellence, good service, and the 60-70s pizza joint decor.

"Man, I wish these guys were near us (aka in Denver)."…read more Actual first words after his first bite. Mine were similar: "Omg, me too." Slow cooking. Be ready to wait a bit for your food. They are literally making it when you order. And they're using fresh ingredients. Don't believe me? You can watch them cook your order from our seats at the bar. So, yeah, I promise. Meanwhile, their chips and salsa will keep you busy (fresh, spicy and also one of my favs in a long while too). You can tell a lot by a place's salsa, IMO. The salsa here is house made, daily, I bet, which already tells you a lot. Made daily. Yum. Ok, literally my dude took two bites and made a wish that we could transported these folks to our neck of the woods. I was surprised really, until I had a bite of my spinach enchiladas. Fresh. Well seasoned. Cooked just right (aka, the spinach wasn't slimy, lol). Sooooo very good. Staff were amazing, laid back and super courteous. If we do nothing else when we pass through Gunnison, we will be stopping back by here!

As in, nobody even looked up or acknowledged the people at the "wait here to be seated" sign by the door for literally 10+ minute periods at a time, and we watched this happen multiple times to multiple groups. Once they, reluctantly, sat us at a table, it was 20 minutes until the next acknowledgement, then 20 minutes until the water and chips/salsa came. Then prob 40 minutes more for food. The food is the only bright spot, and you literally see the ladies making everything fresh to order. But it's not THAT good, not really worth the 2 hour experience unless you have nothing else to do. Would recommend this place only if you can catch it at a time with very few other customers, then they may be friendlier and less stressed and may be able to keep up with food and marg orders. I rarely write reviews but this was such an odd experience I had to share.

First time dining here after many years of coming up to Gunnison…read more First strike is it is a walk up and order joint. I don't like these because you are under pressure to decide what you want as well as those with you as a line forms behind you. Sit down with menu lets you review the options so you get what you want. The food? It was a medium "OK". Do not get the Mac N Cheese. It has something added that takes away any cheese flavor. It is over priced for what it is. And it is served in a jar! Three meals totaled well over $77 with drinks and a slice of bland cheese cake. Also tipping should be added AFTER the meal. Not at the register prior to getting the meal. You don't know what you are getting and the tip should be able reflect that. Have cash to tip and make your decision on how much. After the lowest amount of tip selected it came out to $96 for the three meals. That was the cost to find out I will never be going back. BBQ should have flavor. This missed the mark. Again, avoid the Mac N Cheese. Kraft Cheese and shells would have been an improvement. Just letting you know before you shell out your money. Staff was friendly.
