The food was ok, but way too much mayo. Service was meh. The cashier asked me if I want to add a tip for the grill staff. For take out. No, I don't want to tip you for take out. Took two tries to get a burger and fries as the grill closes at 3:30pm and first arrived at 6pm. Went in today 11:15am and ordered a working man and large fry to go but was told to pickup at 11:45pm as lunch didn't start until 11:30pm. Not the first time I got a burger at a gas station but first time the grill and gas station were the same register. Ambiance is as expected - not great. I paid $20 for the meal (i don't tip if I'm ordering standing up even when asked) and left. Came back at 11:51pm to pickup my order and started eating 6 min after pickup. Burger was with everything and cooked medium well (didn't have a say in it). It was a good sized burger and tasted good. Would rate it a 3.75. The fries on the other hand had a good quantity for a large but were not crispy (rather limp) and not warm. Would rate them a 2. Overall rating is a 3. read more

I'd like to return to try their other menu items. A café (or cafe) is a casual dining and drinking establishment that primarily serves coffee, tea, and light refreshments... they don't have coffee/tea nada listed from a typical "cafe" menu - It's definitely a grill. If you're wondering why there's a line 10 people deep at a gas station ready to order a breakfast sandwich, it's because this unassuming little cafe inside serves some serious hitters. My husband always grabs breakfast or lunch here at least once every time we're in crested butte. I had never decided to partake with him until today. Man am I disappointed I didn't try it sooner! On my first visit here, I ordered the Hurley. Comes on an English muffin, with egg, cheese, hash brown and your choice of meat. If you're vegetarian, don't be intimated. I asked to swap the meat option for an extra egg and they happily obliged. I also took their recommendation and got the sandwich on a biscuit instead of the English muffin. Excellent recommendation. The biscuit is the perfect complement. One thing to note, don't come here if you're in a rush. There inevitably will be a wait due to all the other gas station sandwich guzzlers that will be there with you. But the product is worth the wait so don't let that deter you! Stopped here for a late lunch and split two sandwiches - Groovin Reuben and the Bird Flew; each sandwich came with a side of straight or curly fries. I'm not a huge fan of Reuben's personally but someone in our party said it might have been the best Reuben they'd ever had! I got the Bird Flew and was overall unimpressed - I didn't think the chicken tasted too great nor the avocado (that weird taste with an old avocado?). The curly fries were tasty. Overall everything was a little greasy and heavy to me but was a fine amount of food to split between four people for a late lunch. As far as ambiance, definitely a local spot! We were going to sit outside and were there a few minutes until someone came out and said there are seven dogs living upstairs and could come down at any moment, then we noticed all the dry poop outside and moved inside. read more

The Working Man burger was SO good! Fresh toppings, fresh juicy burger, great bun. Curly fries are very crispy. I haven't had a solid burger like this on a road trip in a long time. Heading out of town early for some off-roading. This place was great for one stop shopping. The food is just ok and the staff is extremely rude. Our English muffins were hard as rock and tasted stale. The cashier gave me attitude before I even placed my order.
