Cute restaurant that hosted about 15 of us. We were spread apart in different seating, but it gave us a chance to mix the group up a bit! Service was great and fast! The ambiance can be intimate to casual, depending where you're sitting. Everybody enjoyed their meals, some were their go-to usuals and some went on an adventure. It was my first time here, so I tried the Halibut. It was done perfectly and paired perfectly with some mash and greens. After the meals, some ordered the chocolate cake. Eeeeeeeveryone rolled their eyes back when they took a bite. Must be good! I don't eat cake nor chocolate, but I can tell it was delicious based on their reactions. Soooo glad we stopped here. My husband and I both agreed it would be worth the 4 hr drive to come again. We had the lamboliscious burgers and I had the carrot slaw and he had the fried. The slaw and burger are a match made in heaven and the beet salad with extra balsamic and extra goat cheese was so satisfying. Our server was so friendly and she was very attentive. I can't wait to come back sometime and try something different. My only complaint is that they weren't playing music from their overly amazing record collection! read more

I have dined in and ordered from this establishment since 2017. Today I ordered the Pastrami Rueben and was disappointed! The meat was cut with the grain, not against the grain and I had to dissect the entire sandwich and eat it in parts and pieces. We went back because our first experience - we had great food. **** Our second experience was horrible! The restaurant is grossly understaffed. We had to send the food back because it was the wrong order. When they finally brought the correct order they had once again delivered it to the wrong patron. But we watched as they took the food off his table and brought it to us. Plates shuffled from table to table. Food safety compliance grossly abused. Food was subpar. When we left we could see the cooks in the back laughing at us. While the single and only waitress was in tears. Management needs to better staff this restaurant. read more

My wife had the lamb shank dish and she loved it everything she was hoping for , I had the gyro plate was absolutely delish! Note this gyro comes with no tzatziki BUT I have to say for a guy who always wants extra I didn't miss it at all the meat the flavor was great I will have another next week . While visiting Avalanche Ranch outside of Carbondale, Colorado, a friend suggested the Goat Kitchen and Bar. Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. It was spacious and open with lots of windows. We were served by a super cute and friendly young lady who was very attentive, but not invasive. I wasn't very hungry at this meal, but they offered French onion soup on the menu that night. That was what I decided on and it was absolutely delicious. Rich beef broth with lots of onions plenty of cheese and just the right amount of toast bread baked on top. I'm very much enjoyed my time and my meal here. I highly recommend if you're in Carbondale that you try the Goat. read more

So yummy! My partner and I had the burgers. That were perfect. I had the lamb, he had the elk. The blend of spices and flavors was unbeatable. They know how to make a burger and enhance the meat flavor without overpowering it. Their tiramisu dessert was also delicious, truly authentic. read more

This place feels like it has definitely gone down hill from what it use to be. Tonight's dinner was so disappointing. Felt like a college meal for overpriced food. The Caesar salad was awful and the chicken on it was very old or cooked in old grease. It was hard as a rock. The blackened tuna which use to be a favorite was absolutely dry. All the way down to the soda which was flat. An $ 80.00 tab for a completely empty stomach and or horrible meal. Truly use to love this place. After reading good reviews, my husband and I decided to have dinner at The Goat since it was very close to our hotel. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and pleasant, although I can't say I am a fan of the artwork, not sure about staring at the painting of a goat's butt while eating! Luckily I did not have to, as we were seating at the bar. The menu is Mediterranean with classic american options. The service was friendly and the food reasonably priced. Make sure to ask what beer they have on tap; we only realized after dinner that they had some behind the bar (in a different room). That night, we just wanted to share a few plates and were very satisfied with our food. The Caesar salad was tasty with real anchovies, and the mushroom fries yummy. Still five stars for this update. First Friday evening with three friends. We were fortunate to arrive at 6:30 pm and get seated. Busy place yet conversation friend. Nice spacing between tables. Food and service outstanding. Owner, Stacey, is involved and friendly. Running a smooth operation. We all loved dishes from Mediterranean salads platter to ahi tuna which is seared then cooked as you like it. Mine was rare. And I liked it! Reasonable pricing for the Roaring Fork Valley. Better than the last five meals I've had in Glenwood Springs and best of all unlike Glenwood it's not trying to be more complicated than it needs to be... It's just dang great food and an incredibly diligent and friendly staff! I had the lambolicious burger on a greek salad and the chili verde which was more of a soup, but appropriately named because it was full of green chilies ! My friend scared me by ordering the tuna burger RARE with of all things Gorgonzola cheese .... The average dinner plate was under $20 but allow yourself some extra as they have great apps and drinks. The French onion soup was perfect. I got the falafel and the veggies were crisp and the patties green and fresh, great tzaziki. Sweet potato fries with the chipotle aioli were a great combo of sweet, soft-on-the-inside, and spicy sauce. It got pretty busy, but the staff stayed calm while they hustled. Me and The Hubs were visiting Aspen last fall for a few days and took a side trip to Carbondale one day. We found this restaurant through Yelp and stopped in for lunch. This is a cute place with tasty, reasonably priced food (a nice change fro Aspen!). We shared a Mediterranean Platter (hummas, dolmades, tzatsiki, tabbouleh, pita) and each had a Greek salad and soup. It was a very nice and reasonably healthy lunch that we both enjoyed. I'd eat here again. PS - My only minor issue was that to get to the restroom, you have to go out of the restaurant and down some stairs to get to the facilities shared by the building that The Goat is in. This place is hip, slick and cool. I love it. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the service was kind, but average. Not enough attention to detail for my taste. BUT THE FOOD, OMG. No kidding. I promised myself I wouldn't chow it all down, but seriously, who can resist. The flavors, the vibe (nice, casual and yet a bit upscale too), all good. Friendly. Welcoming. My mate had the Lamb Shank - succulent, full of flavor and finished the whole thing. Mashed potato and spinach were great sides. I enjoyed the Elk Burger. Yum. Not gamey. Excellent cranberry relish. We went to lunch there today. Attractive interior and decent service. The food we so so maybe a B-, our biggest complaint was that all the side salads were drenched in olive oil which then invaded everything. My lambburger bun was drenched in oil but the burger itself was nicely prepared and good quality. A return is questionable 104 without tip for three people one cocktail each.??? read more
