This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

Very mild chocolate, I believe it is Dutch chocolate if my memory services me not to sweet which I appreciate. It was delightfully well balanced. The coffee itself is very smooth and not bitter, excellent taste! I will be back for sure to try other options there are lots of choices. I should have taken a picture of the menu. There is ample seating both inside and outside, had I not had my toddler with me I would have loved to sit out front but it is right by the road so a no go with a rambunctious little boy... They have great local art that you can buy, and even a bit of thrift clothing. Staff is very nice and very professional. Beats the Starbucks up the street by quite a bit. It's located in the American Crossing shopping center which has exactly this coffee place on street side, urgent care and the New Mexico Philharmonic offices. There's a lot of empty space so the place can be easily passed by because it doesn't look like it's there and it doesn't appear on the American crossing sign. Don't pass by it though it's quite good.

Some times the quiet is a good thing, but for some reason there's almost always at least one loud talking person often on Zooms calls. I recommend it often and stop from time to time for tea and pastries, which are from local shops. Still one of my favorite places in town.
