It's common for businesses to deteriorate over time. Whether they lose their vision or management changes, things can go downhill quickly. Not so with Rise + Roast! The donuts are consistently good; dare I say, the best in the city. The staff is warm and friendly, greeting you when you enter and again when you leave; with smiles even bigger than their donuts! The inside is small, but always clean and inviting. Pulling up those large garage-style windows would make the space feel even more open. Their cold brew is flavorful, though I'd love to see them use a lighter roast to cut some of the smokier notes--but that's more personal preference than criticism. I ordered online and was excited to try new flavors! I got a customized assorted dozen ($20.99). I got one of different flavors. The newer ones I haven't tried were the Mochi Blossom and the Mangonada. Both were good! The mochi donut was a little chewy and sweet. It's all about the texture. The Mangonada tasted sweet, tangy with a hint of Mango. It's basically a crunchy topping. The donuts are all tasty, cake, and sweet, sometimes a bit too sweet. However, my usual favorites and even staples are the Boston Creme, Bavarian Creme, Blueberry Lavender, Blueberry Lemon, and Apple Fritter. Overall, great place for donuts. Every $1 purchase can go towards their Toast rewards, and it's 2x online. The only thing that was unexpected and disappointing was that I wasn't able to pick my order up from the pickup station. Maybe it was bc it was a large order? I had to wait about 10 min in line before they would help me. I also didn't get an extra free donut (for that baker's dozen like before). read more

I love finding new spots for matcha that taste authentic, not artificial like the places that rely on sweeteners or syrups. This matcha is definitely the real deal, and they even offer milk alternatives for those of us who are lactose intolerant. The donuts were decent, though not particularly impressive. The shop has a wide range of flavors to choose from and they're cute designs/colors! I ordered 2 original glazed donuts, strawberry with sprinkles, vanilla with sprinkles, and 2 raspberry jelly filled donuts as well. Went in and was held promptly. Customer service is great here. I ordered the chocolate banana doughnut, and they immediately put it into a bag and handed it to me. I also ordered the coconut caramel latte with oat milk iced. It did not take too long for them to make it Compared to some of the other coffees I've had in town, this is one of the best if not the best in my opinion. I took it to go and ate my donut on the road. The banana frosting is delicious. You can really taste that banana in it and it pairs perfectly with the chocolate filling. I had to come check out some of their summer specials after seeing them on Instagram. I got an iced Matcha with strawberry cold foam and a peach mochi donut. I will see you there. The mochi donut isn't the best I have had but for here in ABQ it's the only one I've found. The matcha was delightful. Seriously, the perfect summer drink. I can't imagine why anyone would hit up the mega chain donut joint in the neighborhood for sub par donuts and average service, when they could hop over here to Rise + Roast and get super high grade quality donut confections, fantastic coffee, incredible customer service and even call in their order or order online for a fast easy in easy out 1-2-3 to go experience...it's a no brainer folks! We were headed to Colorado for a family reunion. As we passed through Albuquerque the KOA staff said it was the best! It is new looking, clean and once inside we we greeted warmly by all of the staff. The pastries were top notch. In particular the cinnamon roll was ginormous and delicious. We all picked at it for hours on the drive. Tasty to the last bite! The kids had smoothies which they devoured. My coffee was also wonderful. They kept bringing out fresh trays of donuts just in the super short time that we were in line! My father-in-law is a donut fanatic and really critical of donuts and he loved them!
