First things first Brett was absolutely amazing he is delightful and loves his job which is hard to find. He is extremely knowledgeable with a great personality. The lemon scone was so delicious, not too sweet and just the right amount of frosting. I used to enjoy their coffee and breakfast items until I was charged almost $10 for ONE large iced coffee because of a $2.25 upcharge for a milk substitute. Half and half. I was confused and asked for a receipt after waiting because I have never paid $9 for a coffee. Ever. I was not informed of the upcharge until after the fact I paid and ASKED for the receipt. I wasn't even given one in the first place. And the guy helping me seemed amused. $2.25 is the price of the half and half carton at the grocery store... I emailed the company and got no response. I hadn't been to Satellite for quite some time but I was craving a Turkish latte so I popped in to grab one and decided to grab a burrito while I was there. The latte was delicious as usual with lots of spice, just the way I like it. The burrito was average. One thing I had forgotten is that I'm not crazy about satellite burritos. Well I think it's nice that they grow the tortilla, it makes it hard and flaky, which is not really the way I prefer it. It was still an ok burrito and I ate the whole thing, but I was reminded why I don't generally order it when I stop in for a drink. The burritos there are also not very flavorful so just kind of blah, and my humble opinion. The service at satellite is always outstanding and this time it was no different. I only waited about five minutes for my food and drink, and the window operator was welcoming and professional. I haven't been inside this particular satellite, but I did notice that they have a nice sitting area outside. I got take out and loved everything I ordered. I had a large Dirty Chai Latte, Blueberry Scone, and the Early Bird Burrito. The Dirty Chai Latte was perfectly sweetened and I finished it so fast. How many price hikes are they going to go through? It's at the point where this is one of the most expensive coffee places I go to out of anywhere and I typically order the same thing wherever I go. I definitely have not noticed an increase in quality that measures up to how much it costs at this point. Satellite was a fun little experience and the first place we stopped for our road trip to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. I asked the Barista for her favorite drink and she immediately rung me up for a Black Velvet. It was SUPER caffeinated so I don't recommend getting it all the time but it was a good iced drink. My girlfriend got a Honeybee latte and it was really good as well and had the regular amount of caffeine in it. A cute little coffee shop with a drive-thru for easy coffee to go. The coffee is delicious. We tried an iced Mexican latte and a iced white chocolate mocha. The latte was quite strong and rich, but that's what I enjoy with those drinks. We tried the Grabburito, which had very spicy green chile. It would have been better with less extreme heat. It came with a side of salsa and tableware. Even though this is a small location, there's ample seating (both booth and chairs), small tables, a covered outside patio with seating, and bathrooms to use with a key. Accessibility for those using wheelchairs or large-bodied people will not be an issue. read more

On Monday, November 18, 2024, I experienced a strange situation at the Wyoming/Montgomery location. Brett, the manager, walked up to me and asked if he could speak with me. He then said that they no longer will be serving me food or drinks. I was perplexed and asked what the reason was. He said he couldn't tell me. I tried searching in my mind if I had said or done something that might make them upset. I could not come up with anything, except that I left flyers in their flyer area. I asked in the past if I could leave any flyer, poster, or business card, and they said yes, and that I didn't have to ask them. The other situation I could think of was that I asked them one time to lower the music on the patio. They were playing really loud rock music and it seemed to diminish the peaceful experience on the patio. I tried putting on my earbuds and listening to a lecture, but the music blasted right through it. I would not think that these would be reasons to ask a customer to stay away from their business. These are normal requests. I am concerned about being discriminated against, or alienated for reasons I do not understand, and I am concerned about the fact that their concern was not shared with me. I find this very unprofessional. At this point I lost my respect for Flying Star and Satellite Coffee, as a business and for the owner, who apparently allowed such an approach. I realize that every business owner has the right to ask someone to leave their property. I would hope that they only do this when someone is violent or unsanitary. I am neither of this. I can live without Satellite. There are many other coffee and sandwich shops in town. I am posting this to share the lack of integrity I experienced for the sake of improving your business. Not being local to the area we had some family highly recommend Satellite Coffee! This location did not disappoint! The guy working was so nice and he helped my very indecisive mom figure out what she wanted to drink, haha. It was some kind of matcha/strawberry refresher...I couldn't be totally off on what it's called, but I tasted it too and it was really good! Their pumpkin spice with oat milk was really so good too! My daughter got a plain bagel and when the guy came and brought it over to her, he asked her if she wanted some jam to go with it and she of course didn't say no. This location had a drive thru, but we opted to order inside so I could take in the entire experience. The menu was extensive with food and drink. There were so many enticing goodies in the counter window. I decided to try a medium pumpkin spice latte. My drink was made quickly and was piping hot. I asked for a sleeve for my coffee and the barista explained that they didn't have any. The latte was not my favorite. I would not order it again. I used to come here and get a tea and a scone once a week-which I've done every week for a couple of years, but they stopped making the scones so now it's not worth it since they don't have any other gluten free pastry of any kind. I don't drink regular milk, so paying extra for alternative milks is the bane of my existence, but I find satellites prices to be so reasonable! Different, not bad, just different. I did pleasantly notice the option for soy or almond milk; guess the folks in NM are lactose-intolerant too... Not sure why restroom remains locked, but the key is attached to a strainer of sorts, that's great, helps prevent being lost.
