It's Sunday morning and I want a little treat. A donut maybe a scone and I've heard plenty about Dulce River so I thought I'd give it a try. From the outside you can see the menu. On the inside it's lots of tables with bright yellow chairs. There is a woman behind the counter (I think she was wearing a wounded warrior tshirt) she was helping another customer. I was standing where she was packaging two donuts. She didn't even acknowledge me, didn't look up from what she was doing, didn't say hello or I'll be right with you. NOTHING! I thought to myself "well I'm already in here so I might as well order, but I'll never come back. They lost a customer. She was rude and unfriendly to the young girl in the ketchup tshirt that helped me. Threw a recycling item in the trash and behind the counter was a mess. The scone was okay.

A bakery counter with a stone front displays baked goods and a menu board, with a coffee machine and supplies behind a clear barrier, in a cozy cafe setting.

Nice little coffee shop. Lemon bars were sooo good and coffee was yummy. The prices were really reasonable.

If I could give this place a zero rating, I would. Unfriendly service and rude. Save your time and don't try this place.

We had a lot of questions and they were very patient with us. We wound up going with a ground Guatemalan brew and I cannot wait until tomorrow morning. The inside is really nice and clean and there were quite a few people sitting and eating and/or drinking. The baked goods looked delicious. We promised each other we would come back and have a coffee and a sweet. There's also seating outside and there were a few people out there as well even on a 100° day. It's an upbeat place and I understand it's their second, so be sure to check them out. If you hit Sprouts, you gotta hit Whispering Bean! kudos to the staff. they were both great!

It is also somewhat smaller, than the one at Corrales Center. The chocolate Cold Brew I got was delicious, with cinnamon. The baristas were helpful and friendly, even this was Christmas Eve. The only thing I was disappointed to see was there aren't a lot of wall outlets here. Only three, on the north wall. So, if you can get one when visiting this location, good for you! Otherwise, your visit may be shorter than you'd planned. I do intend to return here in the future.

With me being a pickle fiend I drug my husband over there the next morning to obtain a pickle bagels. Sadly my hubby is not a pickle nut like I am. I think he got a cookie or something. I really wanted to like this place. I stopped in last week and ordered three pastries to take home…read moreand share with some special people who were coming for coffee with me. First lets talk about what they said was a cinnamon roll? It had none of that wonderfulness that you expect to see within the roll part.... no butter with cinnamon and something to sweeten it. It was absolutely the worst example of a cinnamon roll I have ever tasted. Next on to whatever that roll thing was with the chocolate inside... it had no flavor and the dough was raw on the inside, no other way to describe it other than just plain yuk. Third was the pastry they called a bear claw. I come from a long line of bear claw eaters and at best this was a bit of almond paste slapped into some puff pastry. A bear claw is called a bear claw because it is actually supposed to look like one. It will have the claws, be a nice golden brown not a pale turnover pastry color (that's the wrong pastry for a bear claw) and it should positively have some slivered almonds for extra crunch. Try googling it and you will see. Whatever that is you are trying to pass off as a bear claw it missed the mark in epic proportions. I was not the only one in my party that felt this way about their pastries... we all agreed that one try was one try too many. If you are not a baker please don't fake it. It is unfair tho the customers who know what a great bakery is all about.... quality ingredients, perfected techniques and a heart for baking.... ahhh the good ole days! You could turn this around if you really want to, just need to practice some skills and have a true desire to make people happy through your food. That's what its all about!
