If you're looking for less sweet, very fancy, homemade doughnuts with natural flavors, look no further. We ordered 6 doughnuts so we could try a bite of each. My son loved the cherry blossom the most. On all of them, the cake part was too heavy with little flavor so he ended up eating the tops only. We also tried the prickly pear which was good but in our opinion, all of their doughnuts are lacking the sweetness you can expect when eating a doughnut for breakfast. We think there needs to be more icing on them since they are all cake based. The salted butter didn't have much flavor, but the chocolate was pretty good. My son liked the maple doughnut also. I really enough my cappuccino, but it was tiny for $4.50. The flavor was really good, and they use Little Bear coffee. The atmosphere inside was clean and inviting. The service was good. Not much chitchat or smiles, but friendly enough. The pricing is very high, but you do get 10% off if you order six. We paid nearly $30 for 6 doughnuts. I finally stopped by Bristol donuts over the weekend and samples some of their interesting flavors. I pulled up into the parking lot which had lots and lots of parking and immediately spotted the double decker bus outside. I so wish they utilized it as a dinning area, I would have loved to sip my coffee and munch on a donut in there! Alas, I entered the store and was greeted by the staff, who were kind and helpful. I ordered the yuzu matcha donut, the french toast donut, and a toasted coconut latte with an extra shot. The donuts had a great flavor but they were quite dense for my liking, my mom absolutely loved them but I really enjoy a light fluffy donut. As between appointments and decided to make a quick stop and grab a coffee and a doughnut and check this place out as I had never been before. The place is open and decorated nicely and everybody was really nice.. that was greeted by Sam the manager who is extremely helpful and let me know about their different donuts, different coffees and they also supplied donuts to other coffee, shops, and stuff throughout the city. I had gotten the regular black coffee and a chai tea. Both were pretty darn good. I want to try something different so I got a doughnut with a coffee glaze and then I also got an apricot thyme donut which surprises me. I like that. The doughnut was rather preposterously overpriced ($4.50 for this one), however, for something that was really no better than what one finds in a cake donut from a grocery store (sorry to say it, but it's true - and I _am_ a cake donut fan). But wait - why did I have both a cortado _and_ a drip coffee? Well, coffee drinks are not available in larger than 12-oz. cups - good Lord, who needs that little caffeine? I saw the little bus on the side of the street while I was driving and decided to stop by. My first impression was that it was a cute little coffee shop great for studying and working. The baristas were super pleasant and helpful with the menu. They also suggested a couple of donuts to try which I appreciated. Where Bristol let me down was the quality of the drink that I ordered. First off, I ordered a hibiscus latte but received a hibiscus matcha latte. I still decided to drink the matcha latte even though I didn't technically order it. This location has the best gluten free cake donuts in the city of Albuquerque. They freeze well and are on the pricey side, a bit expensive.

The service here is always excellent. There's a cool double decker bus parked outside. They offer extremely fresh and hot coffee. Above all else, they have the very best cinnamon rolls in Albuquerque that I have tried. My whole family agrees with me on that. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite doughnut, and I consider myself to be a bit of a snob when it comes to my preferences on them. But, the cinnamon rolls here are impeccable. Went here for their gluten free options since a family member is celiac. We decided to eat inside and a couple with a cat sat a few tables away. The cat was sitting on a chair inside the restaurant with the patron. I love animals and choose to leave them at home since there are possible allergies of other patrons and animals are only allowed in certain spaces in food establishments. A person working at the store came from behind the counter and pet the cat and gave it water. When we told the owners cats are not allowed they told us to "shut up." Due to this we left quickly. But from the looks of it, no outlets and the chairs aren't that comfy so probably not suitable for working. The staff was very nice and friendly. Rode our bikes over to check out this cool little spot and it didn't disappoint. The donuts were delightful! Hubby got maple and I tried the seasonal pumpkin pie. His had great flavor just enough maple but not too strong and was a little more hearty and dense. Mine was light and fluffy and just the right amount of pumpkin flavor the whipped cream was a nice little extra touch! Indoor and outdoor seating though outside is limited. We were excited to see that Albuquerque has many local options for donuts and wanted to see if we could catch a couple during our visit. Rebel Donut was the first stop. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and the daily selections were clearly marked and well-displayed. My travel companions are the true aficionados, though I am not one to turn down bread and bread-adjacent foods. Being a fan of maple, I selected that one. The others selected salted butter and vanilla confections. I also needed some coffee in my life and ordered a Cold Brew with oat milk (they even had my favorite flavor and brand!). The drink was fantastic! Sadly my donut was a bit underwhelming. While it had a good taste, I didn't really taste any maple. I was really excited to try these donuts after seeing how unique they were. However, I was a little disappointed with them because they didn't seem very fresh and the majority of them were pretty cold. We ordered around 4-5 different types of donuts and the texture was really dense on the majority of them. I was hoping for a nice fluffy, airy texture on the inside but these didn't have that. I appreciated the creative flavors but I feel like they need to find a better way of storing their donuts. They are sitting out in the open and I feel like this contributes to them not tasting fresh. It's also kind of a far drive outside of the city so I was really hoping that they would be even better for that reason. Definitely pricey for donuts as well. My favorite doughnut shop in ABQ, hands down! Honestly it might even be the best doughnut shop I've ever been to, period. There are the classics that are always on their menu, but the main star for me is the rotating bomboloni. Every month is a new flavor and they all blow me away with their flavor complexity. Today I went in and had the lemon meringue bomboloni- it was heavenly. Stuffed generously with lemon curd then topped with a marshmallow/meringue creme that is slightly toasted. The flavor of the doughnut itself is fabulous. No matter what type or flavor you choose, it is always light, fluffy and delicious. The coffee is great too. 3.5 stars Bristol gave me a coupon for $5 off for my birthday (which took up the cost of the one donut mentioned below, but I'd rather not look a gift horse in the mouth) and in which I had about 2 months to use the cert. Every time I thought about picking up my donut and checked the website to see what they had, they were always either low stock or out of stock of the donut that I wanted to get (and they didn't offer the one my dad might've liked anymore). Finally, I was able to get my donut (the guy at the counter asked "prickly pear with sprinkles or no sprinkles?" The answer is always sprinkles. The donut was smaller than I remember it being in the past (the bacon one was huge, it's also unfortunate they don't offer that one anymore as it was a big crowd favorite), nonetheless was fluffy, soft, and delicious (hence the extra 1/2 star). I also really liked the bus, I like that they can still park it there, but hopefully covid didn't spell the end for the bus.... But, I will be back for the pumpkin cheesecake. read more
