My cousin was performing at this small bar. They had a Decent Menu but seemed a bit understaffed as it took quite a while to talk to the bartender to order and such. The chairs were super uncomfortable especially if you are hanging around to listen to music and have a few drinks. It was quite dark inside and the tv screens had strange videos playing. These two issues are not independent as I am ok paying ~$20 a drink only if the cocktails are going above and beyond in some sort of way. For example, the drink has some sort of complicated syrups or uses some sort of unconventional technique that I would not want to replicate at home. However, you cannot really find creative cocktails here. And, on top of that, I also find a lackluster selection of drinks. I met up with some friends on a Saturday night for a drink and had a great time. The spot is a little bit newer, but it's a contender to be my new favorite neighborhood bar. I love egg white cocktails, so I requested a couple of drinks. One was the blackberry ramble, and the other was a special request of the clover club. Will, our bartender, served some amazing drinks. He definitely knows what he's doing and is open to making interesting concoctions. It's a cozy locals bar and feels welcoming. This corner spot has rotated a bit lately. Previously it was Gravlax, then Yahir, and now The Washington. The guy managing it says they have big plans. They are doing their soft opening now. It's a nice place with a full bar, serving small plates. It's by the same folks that ran Yahir so they are a few holdovers on the menu. Had a hickory smoked old fashioned prepared by Ray behind the bar. They have stepped up their old fashioned's from when they were Yahir. I have yet to dine on the food however the menu looks absolutely delicious. Cannot wait to try the food and have an actual smoked old fashioned. read more

On a whim we looked up this place to come try it out. Strong reviews and we were in the area exploring so why not? We arrive around 8:50 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025. We go to the bar and are greeted by the bartender (middle aged white dude) who immediately says "hey we already did last call." In my brain I'm thinking I made a mistake looking at the hours like, ok no worries I understand. I'm a bartender so I get having to turn people away at closing time. Little did I know that it's NOT closing time. Not according the hours listed on site on the window nor what's listed on the Yelp nor the hours listed on the website. So now I'm perturbed. Because nothing that we as consumers have access to state that you're closed. And if you're closed understand special circumstances, it certainly wasn't explained. We were just dismissed and that was that. It was a waste of my TIME and my MONEY using a ride share to get there and explore this place. I try to give people/places the benefit of the doubt but this is unacceptable. Absolutely do not recommend. read more

Love this bar! Come here often. The bartenders are amazing and super friendly. They make excellent drinks too (Will's take on a Raspberry Negroni is ) . The menu is. It your typical bar food, but it's excellent nonetheless. You gotta try the smoked tri-tip sandwhich! Super cool vibes with immaculate lighting, and everyone I talk to whenever I'm there is warm and friendly. Very neighborly, which I love. And then the music...this place has live music 3-4 nights a week, and the acts I've seen are always high-level. So yes, check out this little gem! Went late on a Friday night and it was still open. Bartender was great and tasty whiskeys, including Michters Midsummer nights dram- an amazing find in a small neighbor bar! They had just installed a dartboard , so we had a great time playing darts. We will definitely go back another time. read more

If you drive down Sepulveda, you've seen this spot - blue neon in the widow and you can see into the bar. There always seem to be people inside and it feels like a fun spot. Finally went out here on a date night and watched the Dodgers beat the Mets on Sunday. It doesn't disappoint - feels like a fun, upscale, neighborhood spot - there are TVs and they have games on, setup inside feels relaxed but nice. It was a great date spot for us on Sunday night. The deviled eggs and salmon ceviche were delicious, grabbed a pizookie to finish off after our drinks. The staff is friendly, we chatted with Will, who sounds like he literally slept there for a few months getting it ready to open and looks like Richie from the Bear but he's kind . I've been to this spot when it was Gravlax (meh), Yahir (ok, but very oily food), and now The Washington - this is the best incarnation so far! The drinks are great - I'm a big fan of the Raspberry Negroni, but also enjoyed the Blackberry Mojito, and even though I'm not a huge whisky fan, I liked the Smokey Old Fashioned as well! Last night we got to try the food... it did not disappoint! These are small plates, so figure on ordering about 2 per person (we had 6 plates for 3 people). The venison sliders were amazing - it wasn't ground venison, as we had expected (like a burger would be) - it was venison tenderloin, and it was exquisite - zero gamey taste. The lamb lollipops were very good too, although they were quite small (4 on the plate was more like 2). Everything else we had was very good (chicken wings, shrimp ceviche, squash and beet lasagna, and roasted brussels sprouts), but the real stand-out was the venison. Thankfully, they have removed the confusingly-named "beet tartar" from the menu. This is definitely a sports bar, even if it is an upscale sports bar. So if there's a big game or event on TV, there will be potentially a rowdy crowd (as there was last night). It can get a little noisy to have a conversation, but I guess that's expected in a bar! read more

Food is unique & excellent, albeit small portions and a bit pricey. We go every other Wednesday or so to hear Jazz there by the Teddy Bang Trio (sometimes Quartet!). One major complaint, and that is there are very few human servers. You order via an app and the food & drinks eventually comes to your table. Too much work when you just want to sit back, relax, listen to the music and order from a human server! An annoying, cost-saving sign of the times and also depriving employment of struggling waiter's & waitresses!
