77 Old fashioned whiskey and mezcal spicy paloma.

My partner and I enjoy coming to this bar. The ambience and music are exactly what we love, old-school. We tried their truffle fries and were tasty but a bit pricey. Their drinks were delicious. We will continue to come as long as they continue to play great music!

Cool speakeasy in culver behind Rocco's. Lot of good music and it was pretty hype, and really hype for Culver. I definitely would recommend people to hang here if they're ever trying to make a night of it in culver. Also, I thought it was funny how the bartenders like to riff with the customers

This "speakeasy" is tucked away in the alleyway behind Rocco's. The inside is cozy with a full bar and lots of lounge seating around the room. They have a DJ some nights and there is room for dancing, although I found that most people were sitting and chatting in groups. The cocktails are about $15/16 and decently priced for a high quality cocktail in this area. My main complaint is just that the music was so loud it felt impossible to hear each other in a conversation. Since it seems like a bar where people sit and chat for the most part, a slightly lowered volume would be nice.

It's a small lounge bar next to public parking garage, and ID will be checked at entrance. The standalone establishment is located in a narrow alley, and there's DJ at night.

I was there when those drunk twats came in like Vegas street trash. Loaded AF demanding a table when the bar was closed and treating it like a Jerry Springer episode. The staff here works their asses off making an incredible vibe like Culver has never had. Drinks are on point, HEALTH CODE is top notch and I promise you won't find a more inclusive experience anywhere near here. I love you guys always and won't tolerate the gutter trash putting you down.

2 for $20 drinks ended up being $20 EACH.

We stopped by for ToGo drinks Saturday night after eating at Roccos. The sign said two for $20. Which everywhere else that means, buy two drinks, pay $20. I paid $40. Meaning the drinks were each $20. The sign did not specify this, nor did the bartender, of course until it was time to pay. She handed me two little bottles and I asked about togo cups, and she said, aww did you think they were going to be in cups? Uh well yeah....I was cool about it and still tipped but once I got home, I checked their Instagram and low and behold they have togo cups. I feel like we got duped into paying for the more expensive option. For the price we paid for these mixed drinks, we could've purchased an actual bottle of Makers Mark. The drink was tasty but not worth it.

Let's take a walk back... Yup, Seventy7 is reminisce of a time passed The decor is 20s and definitely had a luxurious old school feel. It's tucked behind a alley street and can be a bit difficult to find. Inside there are cushiony chairs that surround the wall. Not too large, but there is good floor space to stand around and chat. Although the drink selections were amazing here, I can't say the same about the service. The one waitress seem very irritated and was definitely a bit on edge last night. The bartender, on the other hand, was very very helpful. I couldn't decided what to get and gave him the instructions of making me something fruity but not too sweet..haha. His solution? The Strawberry Hinny. -muddle mint, strawberries, all mixed together with some form of liquor and served in a chilled copper mug. -this was honestly delicious and very well made. I loved the chunks of strawberries that saturated the entire drink. The mint cut perfectly with the sweetness of the drink and I was indeed happy. A few tips: -they keep your ID when you order a drink with one of those mugs. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT simply put down your mug . return it back to the bar..or else you won't get your ID back :( -you can request for a table if you speak with the waitress...but maybe call beforehand to see if there are reservations available. I dont know if I would go out of my way to come back here...but definitely would be a nice drink spot to take a friend just to relax and catch up.

    Great drinks!

The location has a spacious area filled with a variety of wine options. I picked a Bourgogne Chardonnay from France ($36). We came on a late Monday afternoon and, lucky for us, they have a bar special on Mondays: No corkage fee! They also have Happy Hour-- Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. The Chardonnay was divine! I would totally return and purchase another bottle. We also ordered a charcuterie board and took advantage of their happy hour special for $20 (pick two-- one cheese and one meat). We opted for the 'Humboldt Fog' Chèvre as our cheese option and the Bresaola for our meat option. Both were delicious, but the chèvre was truly exquisite. We shared one charcuterie board with five people and it was enough; however if you're on the hungry side, I suggest two charcuterie boards for five or six people. In addition to meat and cheese, it comes with crackers, some pickled veggies, onion jam, candied nuts, whole grain Dijon, and apple slices. On the left side of the venue you have your variety of wine options; on the right side, there's the bar and some tables, plus a small area with other snacks for purchase that pair nicely with wine or beer. They even sell the Torres truffle chips! My only complaint is the service, unfortunately. The lady at the cashier was super friendly, however the bar tender was not so welcoming. When he came over to our table to open our wine bottle, he didn't greet us, smile, or say anything. He took our bottle and opened it and then asked who was going to taste. Not sure if he thought we didn't speak English since we were speaking another language when he came to our table, but overall, we all noticed his attitude and thought it was rather unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I rate this place a 4/5, however, everything else was great!

Everyone is nice, knowledgeable and non pretentious. The staff has encouraged me to try so many different wines I wouldn't normally do for fear of looking like a noob. I've enjoyed a wide range of wines from an orange one day, a pinot next, a buttery Chardonnay or a spicy Syrah. Every time I'm there it's a fun experiment. :) If you're a lightweight like me, I'd suggest eating a meal beforehand because the menu is pretty light. The place itself is very modern and nice. Overall the vibe it basically a Houston's-type place. And service was good. All of the food overall was very good. Nothing really too crazy. To me, the menu is a little... boring. But, I will say everything was tasty. We got the Cajun shrimp salad (which was simple and clean but tasty), a cheese pizza for the kids (which was good!), a brisket French dip (very tasty and a horseradish sauce with a LOT of bite), a vodka pasta (was good but it actually is TOO big a portion to eat by one's self), the Ahi Tuna frites (the tuna was good and served with a nice green sauce), and the grilled cabbage side (with brown butter and some pomegranate molasses--it was actually my favorite thing!). The key distinctive thing about Laurel Grill seems to be that a lot of things get cooked by that fire which really adds a nice smoky touch (like the shrimp and the ahi tuna and the cabbage). My only major complaint would be the fries were just okay. After a minute or two they weren't crispy anymore. As good as everything else was, I thought they would step things up with the fries but they were just average. Anyways, while I overall am not that excited by the menu, it definitely is a great place to go where everybody will be able to find something tasty to eat. And overall, the portions were pretty fair.

Like my HH review, some micro greens would have taken my heard back. I just love microgreens! Deviled eggs and croquetts I've tried before. They were both pretty good. Croquetts can't do wrong. Mains: I got the crab Benedict and it was awesome! I filled up on my avocado toast so I took half of it home. There was plenty of crab and the poached egg was running and bright orange. That's some healthy eggs! Fresh toast looked amazing as well, same with the burger. I know the burger was also popular at happy hour for the price but I was told it was very good. I'll have to go next time just for that. Parking: Just park by the paid lot by trader Joe's or off Cardiff. Easier than trying to find parking on that street. The paid lot is $1 free and $1 additional hours. The patio was super charming with all the natural lights and shaded by the trees. The service was decent as well. Will took good care of us.

Well, Dine LA is happening and what better way than to try places you've been eyeing. I've heard good things about this place from friends that's been numerous of times and each visit was always amazing. Of course as it's part of Dine LA, it was a given to come and try this place for the first time. We had a reservation on a Friday night which was the start of Dine LA and let me say, this place was packed. Every single tables inside and out was utilized. They've made a name for themselves if it was that lively. Good on their part. It wasn't a long wait till our table was ready. We got seated on the patio side just along the street. Covered canopy with both hi top tables and standard tables. Positive side, there were loads of heat lamps as well as heated fireplaces separating pretty much all the tables. Gotta keep everyone warm during our LA winter. Inside is quite small compared to the seating outdoor with only a few tables. As Dine LA was happening, they offered a three course meal for 45.00 per person. If you weren't interested in that, their regular menu does offer loads of amazing dishes as well. We started off a bottle of their French Pinot which was quite nice. Not too strong and very smooth. Nice pair for dinner. Service was excellent and was taken good care by our waitress which I didn't get her name. She was great and very friendly. Dine LA Menu Starters -Soupe a l'oignon (French onion soup) melted Gruyère and brioche croutons -Ahi tuna tartare- avocado, balsamic reduction and spicy Cajun chips -Escargot a l'ail- 1/2 dozen escargot in garlic and parsley butter Mains -Boeuf Bourguignon- slow roasted beef stew with creamy potatoes puree in red wine sauce -Coq au Vin- braised chicken leg with glazed carrots, pearl onions and bordelaise sauce -Moules Frites (Mussels and fries)- PEI mussels in bisque sauce with garlic, Chablis, brandy Dessert -Crème brûlée- vanilla bean and turbinando sugar -Apple tarte tatin- caramelized apples with puff pastry dough and caramel sauce -Profiteroles- choux dough filled with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and roasted almonds. We each went with one of the starters. The French onion soup was perfect. The broth with the melted cheese, it was amazing. The flavors of everything paired together were perfect. Tuna tartare was great. The seasoning with the glaze and chips to paired with was great. Also fish was perfect and fresh. Lastly the escargot. If this doesn't scream French, I didn't know what does. I've had it at other restaurants and I can say this was amazing. The garlic sauce was perfect. Snails had a nice taste to it and quite tasty. Not tough at all. Everything was excellent. Mains, the boeuf Bourguignon was tasty. Nice chunks of beef with a nice thick sauce and pared with mashed potatoes. Sauce was excellent and not too strong. And the mussels, which was a hefty portion. The sauce which was like a lobster bisque was excellent. I'm use to a wine broth but the bisque was amazing. Nice meaty mussels cooked perfectly. We had to order a side of baguette for the bisque. Dessert, the profiteroles which I highly recommend. Two amazing pieces of puffed pastries filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce. Mouthwatering at its best. And lastly the apple tarte, the right amount of sweetness and baked to perfection also served with ice cream. I can say that my first time here was amazing. The service, the food and everything was amazing. Not only dinner, they're also offering Dine LA for lunch. Regardless, it's going to be a priority to come back for another meal. The full menu looked amazing. Food was delicious and everyone left full and satisfied. Oh, there's some street parking if you could find them but loads of parking structures nearby.

I was easy street parking across the street and the restaurant has nice indoor and outdoor seating. For starter I ordered crab cakes and mussels with truffles & mushrooms. From dine LA menu, I ordered escargot cooked with garlic and parsley butter, I wish they just cook with traditional way, I did not like that taste of parsley in it. Boeuf Bourguignon was the main entree and I had a high hope for it since I really miss eating it. When it arrived the portion was small. It tasted no where close to authentic. I was really disappointed. Crème Brûlée was acceptable. It could be a nice hang out spot with friends for happy hour and live music but do not expect authentic French food.
