[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good vibe here. Lots of people always laughing and having fun enjoying drinks and food and beautiful Venice Beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've eaten here a number of times and the food is always good. Perfect bar food. The burgers are tasty, the fried chicken sandwich with barbecue sauce is one of my go to here. Also, really like the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer. If you're on Venice Beach and looking for a place with a solid menu, you can't go wrong here.

This an OK place to have a bite and a drink. Menu consist of usual bar food items, nothing really special or stand out. There are decent number of beer on tap to choose from. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Few times we needed to flag our server down, but that was not big deal for us. Ambiance is just beach shack type of place with dim lighting and lots of tourists sitting around. This is a bar that if you are in the area it is ok to give them a visit but, it is not a destination.

My husband and I came here for date night and had a lovely time! Our servers were Dave and Bryan. They were very attentive and made sure we had a great time. The vibe here is chill, and the music is great! It's obviously in the heart of Venice and ocean front, so the views are stunning! We came for sunset and it did not disappoint! We shared alot of food and it was all delicious! We got chicken nachos and the chicken was really good! We shared the taco platter and got fries and black beans. Everything was super delicious, the service was great, and the view was stunning! Definitely recommend this place!

You never know what you'll see in Venice!!!

Talented bar staff that are able to quickly make an actually good tasting drink while crazy busy. Crowded and loud with live music and people dancing. But good vibes. They had free water up front for the drunk people stumbling out of the bars. I love this. And a hotdog vendor was setup on the street right outside.

Our server greeted at the door and seemed great at first. We had immediate issues when our orders were brought out in a weird order and included items that we didn't realize would be included with it. The entrées themselves were extremely small and not worth the money; that was just including the parts that were actually decent to eat. We had some people on our group that had some food/dietary limitations that were not addressed when we ordered the food/not clearly stated enough on the menu, and when we politely address these to the server, he became very cold and rude. It took ages to get the replacement food out, and the server even tossed one of the plates onto the table and some of the food fell off of it and he did nothing to fix it. I have rarely seen experience as unprofessional and outright hostile before in an establishment like this, and to say that I was shocked with the severe understatement. To summarize: this was not a good experience whatsoever and none of us will be returning here again.

The next minute I'm standing at Ocean Lodge with a cold beer from Chez Jay, living out my low-budget Hollywood dream. The hotel was booked, but that wasn't stopping me. I grabbed a beer, some cheese, took about 437 pictures, and walked around like I was scouting locations for Season 5. The vibe? Perfect. The beach? Beautiful. The sand? Somehow made it into places I still can't explain. I kept looking around expecting Billy Bob to pop out and say, "What took you so long?" Spoiler alert: he never showed. Rude. Still, I got my photos, checked it off my bucket list, soaked up the atmosphere, and had an absolute blast. If you're in Santa Monica, do yourself a favor: grab a cold beer at Chez Jay, walk the beach, and enjoy the view. If Billy Bob shows up, tell him I'm still waiting.

It was initially confusing when we arrived, because there was no host on shift, and we had to ask the barista inside where we should be going. After taking a peek in the actual downstairs basement tavern, we opted to sit outside under the eclectic mix of chandeliers, heat lamps, and lightbulbs, instead of the empty smoky basement. There was a live pianist playing in the front lawn, which was amazing and pretty much made the night. I don't know if it's a regular thing, but if it is, I'd definitely come back just for that. Probably since it was a weekday night, the place was pretty deserted, but we didn't mind - it was like a private show with plenty of seating options. The happy hour food was awesome. We got a bunch of appetizers to share, and there was plenty of food. Our favorite was probably the grilled octopus and calamari, and the brussel sprouts were amazing. The fish tacos and ceviche were not bad, but tasted basically the same. Our server was really sweet. In the future, I would come in a group of three since it seems like all the appetizers come in multiples of three and it would have been more easily shared between us.
