The Vine has such an intimate atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, with aesthetic decor and a stunning display of their wine selection. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the spinach and artichoke dip with cauliflower bread, fig & prosciutto tartine, mushroom & feta tartine, chorizo mac and cheese, beef bourguignon, catch of the day, and the long-range pork chop. Every single dish was a 10/10. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying dessert--we had the Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookie, butterscotch pudding, and crème brûlée, and they were all just as amazing. Our server, Vanessa, was exceptional. She guided us through the menu and drink options and gave fantastic recommendations. The cocktails were also delicious. We have no complaints and will definitely be back!

I came to this wine bar for a private event and it was so cute inside. They closed the doors and we had our shower in here from 11 till about 3pm, we were served some great signature dishes that they usually have and I was very happy with the food. I had a different experience than the normal person that would walk in during wine bar hours would have, but I'm really glad that I made the trip out to Ripon to visit this beautiful business, I got a lot of beautiful photos and it is somewhere that I would love to stop by again! Thank you for letting us host an event here!

We had reservation and were seated right away. Service was fantastic! Our hostess was Vanessa, I believe. There were so many items I wanted to try and end up getting the seafood dish. Was so good with the bread. I wiped the bowl clean. Will try their pasta and beef next time. Caymus was a really good cab. Definitely a good dining spot. Will have to check out their lunch menu.

Decided to start my evening at The Vine House for their "Social Hour"... (who doesn't love a happy hour?!) I've had this place bookmarked for the longest, so it was about time! It's really cute inside from the pretty chandeliers to the vines draped down from trellis heading toward the back. I had a glass of the Lava Cap Barbera, olives marinees and a mini chorizo mac. The French onion soup also sounded really good, but since this isn't my only stop for the evening, I asked the waitress what she would choose between that and the mac. The olives had a nice savory flavor with a hint of citrus. For the girl that used to hate olives, there wasn't a single one remaining in the bowl. The level of cheesiness AND crunch achieved on the mini mac was perfection. The cheese layer toasted across the top was my favorite bite... every bite! (Chorizo is also always a win!) The menu is seasonal, so though photos are posted, you can expect it to change. (Not sure how frequently, as this is my first time in!) My waitress was super friendly and welcoming, and I look forward to coming back!

Matt hit it outta the park once again ... the catch of the day was salmon, so delicious on a bed of risotto and edemame.

We ordered the French dip and the lamb. The lamb was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, though it was a little rich, so it was nice being able to switch back and forth with the French dip. The French dip was good and enjoyable, just not quite my personal favorite. Service was amazing and really stood out. Overall, a solid meal and great experience!

This is a cute little restaurant. Love the decor and it gives a low key romantic feel to it. It's small, but the menu has a bunch of flavorful items. Wish they had more drink selections, but they do have a bunch of wines to select from! The Mac and cheese was delicious. Very saucy and you can taste the truffle. It was good perfectly. We also got a little starter for the table, wasn't pictured here. It was the fig Brie prosciutto. It was okay since I'm not big on prosciutto. But the spread was delicious. The girls wanted to try it out so I said why not. We had a wonderful server who helped us out with the menu. She knew the menu and steered us the right way with that to order. This was a great restaurant, definitely not one that people know about, but I'm hoping they find out.

We made reservations for a date night on Friday in the era of COVID. It was our first time here and it did not disappoint. Everything was great, and service was attentive but allowed us to visit and enjoy a nice, relaxed night out without feeling rushed. We shared the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and would go back for that alone. We split the chorizo mac and cheese and the fig brie prosciutto tartine as the main course, then finished up with the pumpkin spice creme brûlée. It was all delicious, including our wine and peach bellini. We will definitely be back and recommend to others looking for a calm night out. read more

I love the way they're operating with COVID-19 restrictions. They spaced people out. They made sure where you're sitting is okay with you. All around a relaxing environment. The food and drinks are amazing. I highly recommend coming here on a Sunday for brunch. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in the entire Modesto area! Their food is always amazing - we've done take out many times and it was just as good! The atmosphere is so cute! I loved dinning indoors when it was open, but I really am loving the patio area and being able to dine outside. The food is always amazing! It's so fresh and light. I love that the menu changes and we get to try different things. My kids LOVE the turkey meatballs. Their service is excellent!! Not the same restaurant that we had experienced pre pandemic. We understand that help is hard to find, and inflation has impacted everything, but I also know that the cost is passed onto me. I just want to get a quality meal, something that is a step above what I can do at home. We love supporting our local community restaurants, I just want them to get back to where they started. read more

If you have not tried this place you absolutely need to give it a shot! The vibe here is so peaceful and classy! It's a great place to wind down and enjoy a glass of wine, or a cold beer and the food is all made fresh! I definitely recommend the spinach artichoke dip and cauliflower bread! Went on a Thursday night and was seated right away even though it was pretty busy. We sat outside and it was very comfortable. The waitress (Vanessa) knew the menu inside and out and gave some really good recommendations. We had some great wine and beer with dinner which was fast and delicious. Simply delicious! We were in a rush, so no time for enjoying the whole experience, just a few bites. We ordered a salad, the persimmon bruschetta and a fig prosciutto tartine. It was my first time here yesterday and I was blown away! We had the Brie, prosciutto, and fig jam appetizer. And I had the chorizo Mac and cheese for dinner. It was delicious! We had the "Flowers" Pinot Noir and ended the evening with a Crème Brûlée. Definitely one of the most yummy meals I have had in a while. We were served by Joe, he gave us INCREDIBLE service! Living in this area of the valley really limits us when it comes to restaurants that have both good food and look beautiful. Thankfully The Vine House does both exceptionally well. We went there for Sunday brunch recently and had we had the breakfast burrito, savory croissant sandwich and the bread pudding French toast. Everything was delicious and the decor and overall beauty of the restaurant just added to the ambiance. Service was a bit slow, however they were very nice and we assume they were short handed since the state just fully re-opened everything fairly recently. We look forward to coming back again soon. read more

I ordered pick up/drive up. Friendly staff who hustled to go back and forth to restaurant and our car. The menu looked so good that it was hard to decide what to get my first time. This pic is the Mac and cheese with chorizo and a tartine with Brie, prosciutto and fig. The Mac and cheese was not too rich and delicious with salty spicy chorizo. Tartine was yum, can't wait to try the other one and their drinks too. I will be definitely going back and can't wait to try some of their drinks. Lucky to have a place like this in Ripon. Such a lovely restaurant in every way! The indoor and outdoor ambience is upscale yet rustic and the food and customer service is exceptional. For the two times we've been here, the menu was excellent: wholesome and nutritious yet hearty and satisfying. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our wine, meal and dessert which gave off a distinct fall vibe. Little touches like toasted nuts and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds make it extra special. The pumpkin spice creme brûlée was divine. Vinehouse is becoming a fast favorite of ours.:-) read more

We had an amazing time here tonight for dinner. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The service was incredibly good! Our server was Kat , but everyone that worked there was very pleasant. The wine was delicious. I was unsure what wine I wanted and our server suggested that I sample both before I decided. The meatballs, burrata, salmon & French onions soup were all on point. I hate to let the secret out about this little gem but there's a reason I gave it 5 stars. It's an upscale but comfortable wine bar with amazing appetizers. I'm sure all the food is great, but I shared two appetizers with a friend. Everything about the restaurant screams "perfect ambience" for a meet up. One of the highlights was our young and talented waitress! Not only did she know the menu and the drinks inside and out but she had a perfect personality for working in the service industry. She's in school to earn a degree in nursing so won't her future patients be lucky to have her?!?! Thank you for your great service! read more

The interior of Cask & Barrel has an upscale type of vibe with a black slate style stone and some fun accent colors throughout. Everything is organized very well which makes it very easy to find the type of alcohol you seek. In my opinion, it is easier to find different types of alcohol here than the local competitors of similar size. There is a wine cellar with glass walls which make viewing from the floor pretty cool. There is an area in the back called "The Wine Bar" where the staff will begin offering wine tastings. You can sign up with your email to be notified of tasting dates. There is a beer grotto, which is a walk-in fridge so you can pick out a case of cold beer. Near the beer gratto are two large screen TV's playing different sports games. If you need ice, they have a very large freezer. There is a small open fridge that contains several different cheeses to pair with your wine. On your way out, you will find four registers at the front. If you like cigars to go with your liquor they have a small selection at the front counter. Pricing is on par with other local competitors. Not sure if it was due to my visit being during opening day, but there were plenty of employees working behind the register and on the floor. We were asked if we needed help when we walked around. Cask & Barrel is a really nice addition to the City of Ripon.

The Vine House is a cozy and welcoming spot that blends California flavors with a French touch. We started with the artichoke dip and the stone fruit and goat cheese salad, both fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. For mains, the beef bourguignon, chorizo mac and cheese, and ricotta cavatelli were all excellent. The cavatelli had great texture and flavor, simple yet deeply satisfying. The wine list is thoughtful and approachable, with well-paired options throughout the meal. Service was attentive and kind, always present without being intrusive. Dessert was a standout. The service was excellent, especially considering how busy they were. We had read several positive reviews before visiting, and I'm happy to report that those folks were right on the money. I particularly enjoy seeing older buildings given a new purpose rather than simply being forgotten. Combine that character with good food, great service, and a lively atmosphere, and you've got something special. The Old Water Office is definitely one of Patterson's little gems. For some reason mine did not have mussels like the menu stated, unsure if that was an oversight or maybe just a slight modification from the chef. Everyone else seemed to really like their food too. Short ribs got high praise along with the pork milanese. Their pasta is made in-house and looked wonderful too. All things considered, I'd give this meal a solid 4.5 stars which rounds up with the ambiance and service being great. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

We were there early and had the pleasure of sitting at the counter and talking to Tye - the owner/chef and Shauna the wait staff. Dishes are to share. Tye explained that he serves the dishes in particular order to deliver balance with intensely flavored dishes alternating with milder bites. We started with a simple plate of Marcona almonds, Castelvetrano olives and Manchego cheese. We then enjoyed the cabbage with peanut sauce dish - which may sound unusual but was absolutely delightful. We practically licked the plate - in fact asked for a spoon to capture all of the sauce. Next came whipped feta and ricotta cheese served with thinly sliced stone fruit some chili crisp and honey sprinkled with red walnuts and olive oil. This is served with bread slices. It's hard to describe how delicious and flavorful this dish was with such simple ingredients. We were going to order the steak and chimichurri but were talked into the lamb pops - and we are so glad to have tasted these marvelous lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. In fact they were so good - we went ahead and ordered the steak too - which was extremely flavorful on its own but served with a fresh house made chimichurri. We also ordered the patatas bravas which were perfectly seasoned and cooked - almost crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside with just a perfect level of heat. We finished the meal with the cinnamon rolls - don't know how they cooked these to perfection so quickly but they were fantastic. Bottom line - how have we not been here before! My dad ordered the fajitas which they came with a side of cilantro rice and beans and also all the fixings like guacamole and stuff. Let me tell you the fajitas meal was huge. You could definitely share it with somebody else. I have to say their portions are very generous. For drinks they have beers margaritas my mother had a Chavela, which is beer with lime. I'm not a big tequila fan, but they do have a full bar so I just changed the dirty linen drink for Gin instead of tequila and it was very delicious . I can honestly say this may have been the best-cooked sea bass I've ever had. Sea bass is easy to get wrong. Undercook it and it isn't quite there; overcook it and you lose that beautiful texture. This was right in that perfect sweet spot--tender, flaky, moist, and cooked beautifully. Absolutely phenomenal. The rice served with it was delicious, the spinach was excellent, and the wine paired beautifully with the meal. They also have an excellent wine selection, which is always a huge plus for me. And then came dessert: the butter cake. Oh. My. Goodness. That butter cake was incredible. As good as everything else was, though, that sea bass is going to be hard to beat. My only complaint is that now I may have to drive 73 miles just to get great sea bass again! The atmosphere deserves mentioning too.
