What a great place in old Folsom, excellent food, live music, friendly staff and wine!!! Get there early it's a busy place!

Atmosphere is fantastic. Crowd is pleasing. Staff is amazing. This is definitely a spot to come alone and grab a glass of wine or beer. Or a perfect spot to bring your closest circle of friends, share a bottle of vino, share tapas, and relax! The vibe is energetic, and fun! I shared the food menu, and my absolute favorite, hands down, are the chicken and bacon tacos!!! read more

Two years later the portion size has gotten smaller, the prices of gone up and the service was terrible. Picture this: four small potato chips with two or three tiny pieces of ahi for $12. The flatbread still falls flat on appearance and flavor. Personally, I think the food was way over priced. To make matters worse, our food was being served to other tables. We were there for 2-1/2 hours waiting for our food to come out of the kitchen. At one point we asked our waitress for more water and she told us there is a water cooler in the corner and we could help ourselves. What?? This is a full service restaurant isn't it? read more

The wine list is very good, and they offer several flight options if you don't know what to get. Lots of small plates as well- everything we had was very yummy. On Friday there was a jazz guitarist that really set a great mood. It was completely packed inside and they don't take reservations for smaller parties. But there was a decent amount of seating and the heating at the outdoor tables worked surprisingly well. Wish I knew about this place earlier. read more

We have been coming here for years and always enjoy it. Great wine, awesome food and fantastic service. Love how you always get greeted as if you're long time friends. Lisa and her family have done such a great job! Thank you for continuing to stay open and delivering a great experience every time! read more

Amazing brunch menu!!! Bacon avocado toast with a perfectly poached egg and the chipotle hollandaise sauce was so good. The chicken and waffles was awesome and the bourbon maple syrup is crazy good!!! Great place with great food and service. read more

Amazing food and great service! Very fun place to go. Staff is amzing and the work hard.

What a cool spot! Heard the live music playing so we decided to grab a drink. Brett and Sarah took such great care of my wife and I (we can be particular). We would be back more often but we live in Danville, 10/10, I will for sure let my friends and family know! Thank you! read more

A wine and small plate place. Count on at least 1 or more small plates per person and prices, generally, $8-$10 - a couple less, a couple more. We hope for a more diverse wine selection (more imports) but understand that the general mass seem to prefer California juice. A few imports have been on the list. With regard to beer, this is wine place that has one or two beer options. On average, expect $30 per person for a couple glasses of wine and a plate. In general, the food has been good. A chill atmosphere with seating around the bar, a cozy couch and chair grouping, some tall tables, and a couple of standard height tables with benches in the center. I'm generally forgiving when businesses are new; getting in a groove, understanding their customers, busy and not so busy times, and making adjustments. After 4+ months, some of this should have been figured out and corrected. We've had a few issues and don't feel the allure as other reviews make. The air is heavy inside, almost musty. The service is very friendly and due to a lack of adequate staff when needed, service is generally slow. One person cannot effectively perform service on a Friday evening. I feel for the guy, rushing around. He keeps cheerful but the rushing comes at a cost. Our last two visits, my wife has received the incorrect wine and/or the server having to return and ask what the order was for a second time - it was a beer and bubbles. It has left an impression that it's not that important. Help did arrive a while later. After 4 months, staffing should have been figured out. Food has been good; no complaint. I've struggled with my overall impression and want to be fair, and honest. I think they have a cool thing going here and want them to find their niche. Knowing (maybe too much) about wine bar business, I hope that their locals' support continues and that they find that differentiating element that will continue to pull people in. A nice, and needed, addition to Sutter Street. read more

Hi Paul, great dinner last night. Was entertaining a relative and some friends. Your new Manager Britt was great and she was very attentive and helpful. Sad that Matt moved on. We will be back again soon and want you to know your wine bar is tops as far as I am concerned and I am highly recommending you all to my friends. Food was nearly the best in the greater Sacramento area in my opinion. The sangria was great as well. read more

We love coming to the vine on Friday nights to hear live music and have delicious small plate appetizers. A great spot in Old Town Folsom!

We are members at Citizen Vine - and for more than just the wine. They have an amazing staff, great food and of course GREAT wine! I love that their menu is updated quarterly with new food and wine selections. Try the Baked Brie Pastry Puff and a glass of Frank Family if you want to be wowed! read more

Came to Citizen Vine for my birthday with a small group last night and had so much fun! Sarah, our waitress was FABULOUS!!! Sooo sweet, informative, and hilarious...what a great blend! The food was fantastic -literally cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, the pours were perfect, the ambiance was lovely and, again, Sarah was incredible!!! Thank you for making our night! We will absolutely be back to Citizen Vine! read more

I usually love citizen vine although last night was not great. There was a tasting event so most of the tables and bar had reserved seating. The service was not good. The food was horrible. Burnt flat bread and soggy meatballs. I agree with one of the previous posts. Dress up a bit. Please have at least two staff that are able to pour. Tonight there was only one with a packed room and a younger staff worker trying to bring food out. Was not a relaxing pleasant experience. Disappointed for sure. I hope you can make some upgrades/changes as this is one cool spot to hang out. read more

Great wine selection & great service by Shannon. Support local. This place is amazing!!

We have been to Citizen Vine a few times and have always had a great experience. But today greatly surpassed all of our experiences, Kaelyn was our host and had such an amazing attitude and personality. She was very helpful and friendly when helping us select wines and even took the initiative to say goodbye to us when her shift ended. My whole group felt well taken care of and all said how great she was. Great Job Kaelyn! Thanks for giving us a wonderful experience, we will be sure to come back! read more

FAVORITE weekly spot! We frequent this place (at least once a week). Great service, food, oh, yeah... and WINE!! we love to sit outside even in the winter by the heaters... Great vibe all around! read more

Any day of the week the staff is great and the wine is just as good. It took me a few visits before I came on a day when I was hungry... I should fast three days in advance from now on because there is no better tapas in Sacramento. Linanne is phenomenal. Her culinary abilities in the kitchen are on par with Copperfield disappearing a 747. Bree is great and Isabel will complete your Sunday before you have to go back to work on Monday. read more

Great experience and wonderful tapas. Our party of four doesn't drink, but shared at least eight separate dishes and enjoyed every one of them. Thanks to the great chef for surprising us with a sample of the best Citizen Vine has to offer. Thanks!!! read more

So many delicious wines here. Each plate that arrived was fought over and devoured. What a fun time.

Love this little wine and tapas bar! Their atmosphere is so pleasant and the menu is great. Not a huge selection, but everything they have is good quality. They have a very yummy wine selection, and I especially love the red, white, and blue sparkling flight! The tapas are wonderful. I've had the mac and cheese, the brussel sprout flatbread, and chicken tacos, and all had great flavor (especially the mac and cheese! So creamy). The prices aren't cheap, but they're reasonable for the location and quality. They have a really decent happy hour, and on Wednesdays they have an amazing deal - a bottle of wine, three tapas, and a desert for $45 total! Such a good meal for two. The service is always very friendly! Head on over and give this place a try! read more

Let me first start off by saying the ambiance and charcuterie board were delicious! Food wasn't the issue, unfortunately the service was very very slow. Starting with when we first sat down it took a long time for a server to even acknowledge us. Then we ordered an appetizer which never even ended up coming (luckily we were full from the charcuterie board). Then I asked for a glass of water which our server completely forgot about, after she made her rounds to check on us again I ended up asking again (15-20 mins or so later). Not sure if they were short staffed or what but service was minimal. read more

It was probably a little better than 3 stars but I didn't have a great experience. I was with a group and there was a group order, but since I'm dairy free they had to make something for me. It was ordered but came out at the very end, like 20 minutes after everyone was done eating. We asked a few times and we were given the excuse that the Cole slaw mix had dairy and they needed to mix one without for my tacos. However when my food finally came out it didn't have any slaw on it at all. And everyone else was done eating. Very awkward. And the tacos were meh! I noticed they were very slow with all the tables. As a matter of fact, our table gave another table one of our dishes. I definitely think more of an efforts should have and could have been made to bring out food for me because they were told when we arrived (or shortly after). Either way, I likely won't go back. I can say the servers were nice. read more

So many different wines to choose. The food assortment is great as well. Everyone who works there is so nice, and they put on so many fun events. So happy we became members the first time we visited Citizen Vine Folsom. It is well worth the money! We bring all our friends and family there, because it is so cute inside with great outdoor seating as well. Definitely recommend going when they have live music too. We look forward to checking out the other location soon. read more

Awesome first experience! Everything we tried (flatbread, tacos and the chips!) were yummy. Enjoyed the happy hour prices on wine and beer...yes, beer. We'll be back! read more

We came for an engagement party. First time we have been there. It was wonderful. Wines were delicious, beers were too. Tapas were fantastic. All were really good but my very favorites were the tacos. Oh so good! The ladies serving us the drinks and food were very friendly too. We have to come back! read more

We came here on a recommendation of a friend who suggested we come on a Wednesday because they have a Special called "Wine not Wednesday's"! Awesome deal of $45 for a bottle of wine and your choice of 3 of the Tapas items! Lots of delicious choices to eat... we went with the Mac n cheese and the Ahi Crisps, along with a charcuterie board! I'm a sucker for a good charcuterie! We didn't want a whole bottle of wine so we didn't do the Wednesday deal (next time we'll Uber and not have early commitments Thursday)! The charcuterie was awesome, cheeses were flavorful, and lots of extras (pickles, potato chips, olives, candied walnuts and a delish jam. Everything was delish! Water was served in a plastic cup which was tiny and disappointing because we were thirsty! Next time we will definitely do the Wednesday deal! And we overheard the bartender talking about a wine club which sounded pretty cool if you come regularly (details and benefits were on the menu)! We will be back! read more

Our favorite place in Sutter! ! Mimosas, Avocado Toast and a huge cheese board! You will love the food, the people and the wine!!!!

We arrived early and walked around and talked to the owner and saw all their parakeets. The ambiance was over the top! We were fortunate to be there when a private birthday party was being held and enjoyed a fantastic mariachi band they hired. They have a guitarist every night for entertainment. The food was awesome and the service was on point. We'll definitely be back! read more
